An object of the invention is to provide a massage unit wherein means for massaging the affected part of the person to be treated is provided with means for moving the affected part so as to give massage to a desired position. The massage unit of the invention comprises a recessed receiving portionhaving a bottom walland opposite side wallsextending upward from respective opposite sides of the bottom wallfor accommodating the affected part of the user therein, position adjusting meansprovided on the inner surfaces of the respective side wallsof the recessed receiving portionand movable toward the other side wall, and massage meansdisposed on the bottom wallof the recessed receiving portionfor massaging the affected part.

The invention provides a massage machine for health care which comprises a living body information sensorfor detecting living body information of the autonomic nervous system of the person to be massaged, a control circuitfor judging the psychological state of the person based on the living body information detected, and a memoryfor holding histories of psychological states of persons to be massaged. The machine is adapted to judge the physical condition of the person based on the history of psychological states of the person, and to judge whether the condition of the person's health is improved by massage so as to utilize the result of judgement as guidelines for health care.
