A sheet feeding device includes a sheet accommodating portion mounted in a main assembly. With respect to a crossing direction perpendicularly crossing a pulling-out direction of the sheet accommodating portion from the main assembly as viewed in a direction of gravitation, the main assembly is provided with a positioning portion. A member-to-be-engaged is provided in one of the main assembly and the sheet accommodating portion. An engaging member is provided in the other of the main assembly and the sheet accommodating portion. The engaging member is elastically deformed when the sheet accommodating portion is pulled out in the pulling-out direction from a mounting position. The engaging member is provided swingably in the other one of the main assembly and the sheet accommodating portion so as to be capable of changing a position thereof with respect to the crossing direction.

Sheet feeding device and image forming apparatus

A sheet cassette includes a first trailing edge regulator integrally formed with a cassette frame to regulate a position of a trailing edge of a first sized sheet in a feeding direction, and a second trailing edge regulator integrally formed with the cassette frame to regulate a position of a trailing edge of a sheet of a second size stored in the cassette frame in the feeding direction. A pair of side edge regulation members regulate positions of side edges of the sheet of the first size stored in the cassette frame in the width direction at a first position and regulate positions of side edges of the sheet of the second size stored in the cassette frame in the width direction at a second position.

Sheet storage apparatus and image forming apparatus

A sheet stacking apparatus includes a sheet stacking unit on which sheets are stacked, a sheet regulating unit, and a cover member. The sheet regulating unit includes a main body having a regulating surface regulating a position of the sheet on the sheet stacking unit, and an operating portion movably supported on the main body and having an operating surface. The operating portion is movable from a first to a second position by operating the operating surface. The sheet regulating unit is locked to the sheet stacking unit when the operating portion is in the first position, and unlocked when in the second position. The cover member includes a first surface covering the operating surface and a second surface covering an upper surface of the operating portion, and covers the operating portion with at least the first surface and the second surface so that the operating portion is not visible.

Sheet stacking apparatus and image forming apparatus

A sheet stacking apparatus includes a sheet stacking unit having a stacking surface on which a sheet is stacked, a sheet regulating unit, and an opposed member. The sheet regulating unit includes a main body having a regulating surface which regulates a position of the sheet and being movable with respect to the sheet stacking unit, and an operating portion movably supported on a top of the main body and having a pressure surface. The operating portion is movable from a first position to a second position by performing a pressing operation on the pressure surface. The main body is prevented from moving when the operating portion is in the first position, and is allowed to move when the operating portion is in the second position. The opposed member is removably supported on the main body and opposed to at least a part of the pressure surface and an upper surface of the operating portion.

A sheet stacking apparatus includes a sheet stacking unit configured to stack a sheet thereon and a sheet regulating unit configured to regulate a position of a sheet stacked on the sheet stacking unit. The sheet regulating unit includes a main body movable with respect to the sheet stacking unit and an operating portion having a pressable pressure surface, moved from a first position to a second position by pressing the pressure surface, and pivotably supported on the main body about a pivoting fulcrum positioned above a middle position of the pressure surface, the main body being regulated from moving with respect to the sheet stacking unit when the operating portion is in the first position, and the main body being allowed to move with respect to the sheet stacking unit when the operating portion is in the second position.

A sheet feeding apparatus includes a damper mechanism having a movable portion supported by a sheet storage portion and movable with respect to the sheet storage portion by abutting against a body in a case where the sheet storage portion is inserted to the body, and a resistance member. In addition, a first transmission portion actuates the resistance member to produce a resistive force and transmits the resistive force so that an insertion speed of the sheet storage portion is reduced when the sheet storage portion is inserted to the body, and a second transmission actuates the resistance member to produce the resistive force and transmits the resistive force so that a lowering speed of the sheet supporting member is reduced when the sheet storage portion with the sheet supporting member having been lifted by a lift portion is drawn out of the body.

Sheet feeding apparatus and image forming apparatus

A sheet storage apparatus includes a storage apparatus body, a sheet stacking portion, a rear end regulation member, and a rear end regulation attachment. The sheet stacking portion has an opening opened in an upward and downward direction, and is movable upward and downward with respect to a bottom portion of the storage apparatus body. The rear end regulation attachment is detachably attached to the rear end regulation member, which regulates an upstream end position in the sheet feed direction of the sheet stacked on the sheet stacking portion. The rear end regulation attachment includes a regulating portion that extends toward the bottom portion through the opening. The rear end regulation attachment regulates the upstream end of the sheet on a position downstream, in the sheet feed direction, of a regulating position of the rear end regulation member.

An image forming apparatus includes: a sheet storage portion having a sheet stacking portion, a sheet feed portion, a drive portion configured to be capable of switching a lifting speed when lifting the sheet stacking portion between a first lifting speed and a second lifting speed, a height detecting portion configured to be capable of detecting the fact that the sheet reaches a decelerating position for switching the lifting speed of the sheet stacking portion from the first lifting speed to the second lifting speed, a time counting portion, and a control unit. The control unit computes the sheet stacking amount of the sheet stacking portion by using a relationship among the lifting time from a start of the lifting operation of the sheet stacking portion until the sheet reaches a decelerating position, the first lifting speed, and a heightwise position of the decelerating position when the sheet stacked on the sheet stacking portion is lifted to the decelerating position at the first lifting speed by the drive portion and then is lifted to a feeding position at the second lifting speed.

Image forming apparatus

An imaging apparatus includes a plurality of photoelectric conversion units configured to output an image signal obtained by executing photoelectric conversion and a noise signal; a clipping unit configured to clip the noise signal to a clipping level when the noise signal exceeds a preset clipping level; a control unit configured to calculate the clipping level based on a signal read from the plurality of photoelectric conversion units and set the calculated clipping level to the clipping unit as the preset clipping level; and a differential unit configured to execute differential processing of subtracting a noise signal read from the photoelectric conversion unit and clipped by the clipping unit, from an image signal read from the plurality of the photoelectric conversion units.

The system control unit executes the following control when switching the mode from the first mode to the second one. When the first accumulation period is shorter than the first readout period, the system control unit controls the image sensor driving circuit and readout circuit so that the sum of the first and second readout periods fits into a 2-frame period. When the first accumulation period is longer than the first readout period, the system control unit controls the image sensor driving circuit and readout circuit so that the sum of the first accumulation period and second readout period fits into a 2-frame period.

Imaging apparatus and its control method for setting suitable clipping level

An object of the present invention is to provide an imaging apparatus capable of obtaining a sufficient resolution in a picture signal for zooming in on an output signal of an image pickup device by means of an electronic zoom process and a control method thereof. To attain this object, a timing generator generates a timing signal for controlling timing for reading charges to an image pickup device and the timing for mixing or transferring the charges. A zoom control portion determines a scaling factor for, by signal processing, expanding or reducing picture data generated based on the output signal of the image pickup device. The zoom control portion also determines the number of mixed pixels and a cutout range of the charges in the image pickup device. A vertical scaling factor control portion controls the timing generator so that mixture of the charges and charge transfer will be compliant with the number of mixed pixels and the cutout range respectively as determined by the zoom control portion.
