A tire has a rim protector which is formed at a sidewall and which constitutes an annular protrusion that extends in a tire circumferential direction. The rim protector has not less than two recesses that extend toward the tread region from a location toward the bead region in such fashion as to be directed toward a location in a second direction from a location in a first direction in the tire circumferential direction, the not less than two recesses being arranged with spaces therebetween in the tire circumferential direction. A mutually adjacent pair of recesses among the not less than two recesses are in a positional relationship such that they partially overlap as seen when projected onto a virtual plane perpendicular to a tire radial direction.

A pneumatic tire includes: a plurality of shoulder blocks that are provided in a side portion, defined by a shoulder main groove extending in a tire circumferential direction and a shoulder lateral groove extending in a tire width direction, and disposed side by side in the tire circumferential direction; a rib that is provided in the side portion, and extends in the tire circumferential direction along the shoulder blocks; and a projection that is provided in the side portion, and extends from the rib toward the shoulder blocks.

A shoulder region of a tread portion is provided with a shoulder block and a raised portion is provided in an outer extension portion of the shoulder block in a tire width direction in relation to a tire ground contact end. A pneumatic tire includes a serration portion formed by providing multiple basic ridges side by side at intervals in a tire circumferential direction on a surface of a sidewall portion, and multiple sub-ridges extending in a direction crossing the basic ridges and shorter than the basic ridges, which are provided without coupling the basic ridges neighboring each other.

A vent plug is mounted in a vent hole open in a molding face of a tire cure mold. The vent plug has a cylindrical housing having a vent path in itself, a stem that is inserted into the housing and serves as a valve element for opening and closing the vent path, and a coil-shaped spring that biases the stem toward a cavity so as to open the vent path. The stem includes a columnar trunk portion and a head portion that comes in contact with a valve seat at an opening portion of the housing to thereby close the vent path. The stem turns as the stem moves along an axial direction.

A pneumatic tire includes land portions defined by grooves, and sipes that are formed in the land portions and intersect the grooves. The sipes form acute angle portions and obtuse angle portions with the grooves. Notches are formed in the obtuse angle portions.

A method for arranging stud pins in a pneumatic tire is a method for arranging stud pins in a tread portion at intervals in a tire width direction so as to form a plurality of rows. This method includes specifying an inner region, an intermediate region, and an outer region by virtually partitioning the tread portion into equal three parts from a center line extending in a tire circumferential direction to a ground contact end in the tire width direction outward. The method also includes arranging the stud pins such that among numbers of stud pins per row in the inner region, the intermediate region, and the outer region, the number in the outer region is the largest, the number in the intermediate region is the second largest, the number in intermediate region is the smallest.

A pneumatic tire has a first region including a plurality of first zones disposed adjacently to each other in a tire circumferential direction, each first zone being formed in a closed region and extending in a first extending direction; and a second region which is disposed adjacently to the first region in a tire radial direction and includes a plurality of second zones, each second zone being disposed adjacently to each other in a tire circumferential direction, being formed in a closed region and extending in a second extending direction. On an end portion of the first region disposed adjacently to the second region, valley portions are formed by the first zones disposed adjacently to each other in the tire circumferential direction. Each of the second zones has a portion disposed adjacently to the first region and configured to mate with each of the valley portions.
