A terminal-equipped wire () includes a connector terminal (), a wire (), a relay conductor () and a sealing member (). The connector terminal () is arranged in an insertion hole () provided in a connector case (). The wire () is formed by bundling a plurality of conductors (). The relay conductor () is composed of one conductor and electrically connects the connector terminal () and the wire (). The sealing member () is mounted on the outer periphery of the relay conductor () and arranged in the insertion hole () to close a clearance (S) between the inner periphery of the sealing member () and the outer periphery of the relay conductor () and a clearance (S) between the outer periphery of the sealing member () and the inner periphery of the insertion hole ().

Multi-part wire terminal with sealing member

A wire with terminal () includes a single-core wire (), a connector terminal () and a seal (). The wire () includes one conductor () and an insulation coating layer () covering the conductor (). The wire () is formed with a conductor portion () that is part of the conductor () projecting from an end of the insulation coating layer (). The connector terminal () is connected to the conductor portion () and arranged in an insertion hole () in a case (). The seal () is mounted on an outer periphery of the conductor portion () and in the insertion hole () and closes a clearance (S) between the inner periphery of the seal () and the outer periphery of the conductor portion () and a clearance (S) between the outer periphery of the sealing member () and the inner periphery of the insertion hole ().

Wire with terminal

A lever () is mounted rotatably on a female housing () and includes a cam plate () with a cam groove (). The cam plate () is arranged on only one surface of the female housing (). In addition to an engaged position of a cam groove () and a cam pin (), a position is set between the lever () and a male housing () to produce forces to pull the housings () towards each other. For example, a hook () is formed on a posture correcting arm () at a position facing the cam plate () of the lever () and engages a receiving portion () in the male housing () to pull the housings () together.

Connector having a movable member

Joint portions to which tubes are coupled are provided with a pair of connector portions which are engaged/disengaged in accordance with the engagement/disengagement of the joint portions. Further, a detection circuit is provided which detects the non-conduction state between terminals provided at the connection portions. The detection circuit is arranged to output an alarm signal when the state between the terminal metal members is non-conductive. Thus, when one of the joint portions disengages, the corresponding one of the connector portions also disengages, so that the state between the terminal metal members becomes non-conductive and the alarm signal is generated.

Disengagement detecting system for joint portion

Joint portions to which tubes are coupled are provided with a pair of connector portions which are engaged/disengaged in accordance with the engagement/disengagement of the joint portions , respectively. Further, a detection circuit is provided which detects the non-conduction state between terminals B provided at the connector portions , respectively. The detection circuit is arranged to output an alarm signal when the state between the terminal metal members is non-conductive. Thus, when one of the joint portions disengages, the corresponding one of the connector portions also disengages, so that the state between the terminal metal members becomes non-conductive and the alarm signal is generated.

Connectors ( ) are connected to each other when joints ( ) that connect tubes ( ) and pipes ( ) to each other are mounted thereon. The connectors ( ) are disconnected from each other when the joints ( ) are removed therefrom. A detection circuit ( ) detects an electrical disconnection between terminals ( ) and ( ) in the connectors ( ) and ( B), respectively and outputs an alarm signal to inform an operator that the joint ( ) has not been installed on the tube ( ) or the pipe ( ).

Connector

A second tube-side housing ( ) is connected to one end of a second tube ( ). A fit-in space ( ) in which a wall-side housing ( ) is capable of fitting is formed at the side, of the second tube-side housing ( ), opposite to the side thereof in which the second tube ( ) is fitted. A pair of detection terminals ( ) is mounted on an upper portion of the second tube-side housing ( ), with the detection terminals ( ) connected to one end of an electric wire (D ). A slide ( ) is longitudinally slidably installed on a continuity inspection portion ( ) accommodating the detection terminals ( ). The slide ( ) accommodates a short-circuit terminal ( ) capable of electrically connecting the detection terminals ( ) to each other. When both housings ( ) fit on each other normally, the slide ( ) is pressed toward the housing ( ), and the short-circuit terminal ( ) short-circuits detection terminals ( ).

Electrical connector with shorting device

A connector includes first and second connector housings which are fitted together. A seesaw or lever-type lock piece is provided in one of said connector housings and a hooking part is provided on the other connector housing for being hooked by a first downward projection of the lock piece. A detecting member is mounted for free sliding movement along the upper face of the lock piece. After a fitting operation of both housings is carried out, the detecting member is pushed forwardly. When the connector housings are in an incomplete fitted position or state, since the first downward projection is mounted on the hooking part and the lock piece is in an oblique position, the pushing of the detecting member is prevented and an incomplete fitted state is detected. When the detecting member is further pushed in, one of the housings is pushed in with the lock piece and is properly fitted. The detecting member is retained just at the position of the front end of the lock piece and the connector housings are thereby double locked.

A retainer type connector can prevent a flexible locking piece from being broken and enhance properties of a housing and a retainer satisfactorily. In this retainer type connector, when retainers (43a) are inserted into retainer-mounting holes (41c) in a base body (41), lock arms (41e1, 41e2) employed as flexible locking pieces, which are provided on inner peripheral wall of the retainer-mounting holes (41c) to be protected from foreign substances, are readily deflected to engage with protrusions (43b1, 43b2) of the retainers (43a) employed as fixed locking pieces, thereby preventing the lock arms from being broken even if coupling and detaching operations are repeated. The base body (41) as a housing and the retainer can be made of a suitable resilient resin material and a suitable hard resin material, respectively.

Retainer type connector

A connector assembly (10,30;120,140;210,230) comprises a female connector and a male connector for insertion in the female connector. A latching arm (20,130,220) is provided on one of the female and male connectors, and a latching abutment (33,143,233) is provided on the other of the female and male connectors. Insertion resistance means (24,34;133,42;226,233) are effective only in the insertion direction to increase the latching force.

A bolt provided on a female connector housing is tightened relative to a nut, provided on a male connector housing, displacing the two connector housings relative to each other in a connecting direction, thereby fitting them together. An upwardly-extending, bar-like projection portion is provided on the male connector housing. A detection member is provided in an insertion hole formed in the female connector housing. When the two connector housings are displaced relative to each other in the connecting direction, the projection pin and the detection member cooperate to indicate a fitting-completed condition, enabling easily perceived completion of the connection. Alternatively, the male and female connector housings include electrically engageable sensing elements that indicate the fitting-completed condition.

Matable connector

A sealing structure for a panel-mounted electrical connector seals fixed and detachable connector housings. A waterproof seal has a double seal structure including inner and outer peripheral side sealing sections surrounding a mounting hole of a panel in which the connector is fitted, for sealing a gap between the detachable connector housing and the outer face of the panel. The sealing structure further includes a subseal sealing a gap between a hood of the fixed connector housing and the detachable connector housing in the inner peripheral side of the waterproof seal. When water flows through a gap between the mounting hole and the hood from the inside of the panel, the subseal prevents the water from invading a gap between the hood and the detachable connector housing.

Sealing structure for a panel-mounted electrical connector

A tubular extension portion is extended from an edge portion of a retainer mounting a hole at an upper surface of a connector housing. A retainer has a flange. When the retainer is fitted in the retainer mounting hole, the flange is abutted against an upper end of the tubular extension portion, so that the retainer mounting hole is closed similar to a lid to prevent water or the like from intruding into the retainer mounting hole from the upper surface of a connector. Water, dropping from above the retainer mounting hole, falls on the upper surface of the retainer and the flange, and flows to the upper surface of the connector housing across an outer peripheral edge of the flange. Therefore, the water will not intrude into a gap between the retainer and the retainer mounting hole. Also, because the water on the upper surface of the connector housing cannot flow up and over the tubular extension portion, water also will not flow into the retainer mounting hole from here.

Retainer mounting structure of connector

When a retainer is displaced into a provisionally-retained position, a slanting abutment surface of a retaining step is abutted against a rear edge of a main portion of a metal terminal disposed in a half-inserted position. Then, when the retainer is pushed, each projection is guided by a slanting portion of a guide groove, so that the retainer is displaced obliquely forwardly downwardly, and reaches a completely-retained position. During this displacement, a forwardly-acting pressing force is exerted on the metal terminal, so that the metal terminal is automatically pushed deeper into a proper inserted position.
