An electronic timepiece includes a receiver that executes reception process to capture a position information satellite transmitting leap second information and receive a satellite signal transmitted from the captured position information satellite and a controller that acquires the leap second information on the basis of the satellite signal received by the receiver, in which the controller determines whether or not to stop the reception processing on the basis of a type of the satellite signal receivable from the position information satellite captured by the receiver.

Electronic timepiece with leap second information acquisition

An electronic timepiece improves operability when manually adjusting the time. The electronic timepiece includes: a time display configured to indicate the time; a rotatable crown that can be pulled out to multiple stop positions, including a first position and a second position; a stop position detector configured to detect the stop position of the crown; an operation detector configured to detect an operation rotating the crown; and a time setter configured to change the time displayed by the time display according to an adjustment amount that differs according to the stop position at each detected operation when the stop position is the first position or the second position and the operating detector detects the operation.

An electronic timepiece can eliminate deviation in the information display position of two display wheels. An electronic timepiece has: a first display wheel having numerals indicating the ones digit of the date; and a second display wheel having numerals indicating the tens digit of the date. At least one of the display wheels can be turned in a first direction and a second direction. A controller, when turning the display wheel in the first direction, executes a first rotation process of turning the display wheel in the first direction and then stopping rotation of the display wheel; and when turning the display wheel in the second direction, executes a second rotation process of turning the display wheel in the second direction, then turning the display wheel in the first direction, and then stopping rotation of the display wheel.

An electronic timepiece includes a display section capable of displaying reception state information based on the strength of a received satellite signal or the number of captured satellites during the execution of a reception process. In a case where a predetermined period has elapsed with no acquisition of time information or position information since the reception process started, the reception state information is displayed on the display section, and in a case where the time information or the position information has been successfully acquired within the predetermined period since the reception process started, the reception state information is not displayed on the display section but the reception process is terminated.

An electronic timepiece enables displaying multiple times and easily correcting the displayed time. An electronic device has a correction mode setting unit that sets a first time correction mode for adjusting a first time, or a second time correction mode for adjusting a second time, in response to a correction mode setting operation; and a display control unit that moves an indicator hand to a first indicated position indicating that the hands to be corrected are first hands when the first time correction mode is set, and moves the indicator hand to the second indicated position indicating that the hands to be corrected are second hands when the second time correction mode is set.

An electronic timepiece includes a display section, a display control section, a reception section, a clock section, a timing section, a leap second acquisition section, a time correction section that corrects internal time information by using time information acquired by the timing section, and a leap second correction section that corrects the internal time information by using leap second information acquired by the leap second acquisition section. In a case where the operation of the timing section is followed by the operation of the leap second acquisition section, the time correction section corrects the internal time information by using the time information acquired by the timing section, and the display control section causes the display section to display, before the leap second acquisition section acquires the leap second information, time based on the internal time information corrected by the time correction section.

Electronic timepiece and method for controlling display operation of electronic timepiece

An electronic timepiece enables a simple construction, and an electronic device has the electronic timepiece. A wristwatch has a button or external operating member; a controller that sets the operating mode of the wristwatch based on an input operation of the button. Based on the continuous input time that the button is operated continuously, the controller changes the operating mode between a timekeeping mode that receives a satellite signal from one or more GPS satellites and adjusts the internal time information based on time information contained in the received satellite signal; and a positioning mode that receives satellite signals from three or more GPS satellites and adjusts the internal time information based on time information and positioning information contained in the received satellite signals.

An electronic device has a first hand that displays a first time; a second hand that displays a second time; an indicator hand; a detection device that outputs a first time selection signal when it detects a first time selection operation of an input device, and outputs a second time selection signal when it detects a second time selection operation of the input device; a mode setter that sets a first time correction mode to correct the first time when the first time selection signal is received, and sets a second time correction mode to correct the second time when the second time selection signal is received; and a display controller that points the indicator hand to a position other than that of the second hand when the first time correction mode is set, and points the indicator hand to the second hand when the second time correction mode is set.

An electronic timepiece can determine the reception state in detail, and can display the reception state with high precision. A GPS wristwatchhas a reception unit that receives a satellite signal transmitted from a positioning information satellite; a reception level calculating unitthat calculates a reception level from the signal strength of the satellite signal; and a reception level display unitthat displays the reception level calculated by the reception level calculating unit. The reception level calculating unitselects a specific number of satellite signals received from the positioning information satellites in order of greatest signal strength, and calculates the reception level from the signal strengths of the selected satellite signals.

An electronic timepiece has a receiver device that receives at least a first satellite signal containing a first leap second value and a second satellite signal containing a second leap second value; a timekeeping device that keeps time according to the current leap second; an evaluation condition setting unit that sets an evaluation condition of the correctness of the first leap second value and the second leap second value based on the timing of first satellite signal and second satellite signal reception; and a leap second correction unit that corrects the current leap second based on the first leap second value or the second leap second value when the first leap second value and the second leap second value satisfy the set evaluation condition.

A reception control unit of an electronic timepiece includes a satellite-capturing control unit configured to search for a preferential search satellite more preferentially than the other position information satellites, the preferential search satellite being the position information satellite having a stored satellite number, a reception-state determining unit configured to determine, at timing of an end of the search for the preferential search satellite, whether a number of the captured position information satellites is equal to or larger than a predetermined number; a reception-stop control unit configured to stop a reception processing when the reception-state determining unit determines that the number of the position information satellites is smaller than the predetermined number; and a storage control unit configured to store the satellite number of the captured position information satellite in the satellite-number storing unit.

An electronic timepiece enables a simple construction, and an electronic device has the electronic timepiece. A satellite signal reception device can reliably execute a satellite signal reception process. The satellite signal reception device has a reception time setting unitthat sets a reception time; a timekeeping unit that keeps internal time; and a scheduled reception control unitthat executes a time-based reception process that operates the reception unit when the time kept by the timekeeping unit reaches the reception time. By having a scheduled reception control unit, the reception process can be executed when the internal time goes to the reception time set by the reception time setting unit. The reception process is therefore executed once a day. The satellite signal reception process can therefore be executed reliably without being affected by how the device is used, the season, weather, or other factors.
