A DB interface is provided between each subscriber database, which stores information associated with each goods including an aesthetic/sensuous attribute unique to each subscriber, and a basic DB, which stores support information for supporting goods planning of each subscriber by electronic processing. The DB interface converts the aesthetic/sensuous attribute to data corresponding to a unified classification and a unified evaluation axis of the basic DB so as to cause the basic DB to fetch the information of each subscriber database as part of the support information.

A first terminal data processing unit is arranged in an apparel planning division to process first data necessary to plan an apparel goods. A second terminal data processing unit is arranged in a sewing division to process second data necessary to perform a sewing treatment and management of the apparel goods planned by the apparel planning division. A central data processing unit is connected to the first and second terminal data processing units through communication lines, respectively, and is arranged in an information service division to offer the first and second data to the apparel planning division and the sewing division. A database is connected to the central data processing unit to store at least the first and second data. The information service division supplies the second data, read out from the database by the central data processing unit, to the sewing division through the second terminal data processing unit, so that the sewing division can perform a sewing treatment and management of the apparel goods in accordance with electronic data processing.

A memory device comprises a base plate with a memory element supporting layer, a probe with a pointed tip portion, and a fine scan element for causing the probe to scan over the surface of the memory element supporting layer. When the probe is approached to the surface of the memory element supporting layer and a suitable bias voltage is applied across the probe and the memory element supporting layer, a tunnel current is cause to flow therebetween and a specific region of the surface of the supporting layer is excited. The excited region can adsorb one molecule of, for example, di-(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate. By causing the memory element to be adsorbed selectively on the memory element supporting layer, data is recorded in the form of a projection-and-recess pattern. The recorded data can be read out by observing the surface configuration of the supporting layer in accordance with the principle of an STM (scanning tunneling microscope).

A liquid crystal spectacle includes a pair of liquid crystal lenses and a frame holding the lenses. The frame has a pair of temples and a pair of ear pieces attached individually to the temples. Each ear piece houses a battery for supplying the voltage to the corresponding lens. Each temple houses a regulator circuit for regulating the voltage supplied from the battery to the lens, thereby controlling the refractive index of the lens.
