An optical module includes an optical component, a substrate including a main surface, a mount portion provided on the main surface of the substrate, and at least one measurement reference portion provided on the main surface of the substrate at a position apart from the mount portion. The substrate mounts the optical component thereon. The mount portion is configured to mount the optical component thereon. The measurement reference portion includes a reference point that becomes a height reference when measuring a mount height of the optical component.

An optical connector cable including an optical cable, a first resin member, and a second resin member is disclosed. The optical cable includes a plurality of optical fibers and a sheath surrounding the plurality of optical fibers. End portions of the plurality of optical fibers extend to the outside from an end surface of the sheath. The first resin member holds the end portions of the plurality of optical fibers extending to the outside from the end surface of the sheath. The second resin member covers at least a part of the first resin member and an end portion of the sheath.

Disclosed is an optical connector cable including a plurality of optical fibers, a lens module, and an adhesive portion. Each of the plurality of optical fibers extends in a first direction. The lens module includes a placement structure configured to place the plurality of optical fibers thereon in order in a second direction intersecting the first direction and a plurality of lenses optically coupled to tip ends of the plurality of optical fibers. The adhesive portion fixes the plurality of optical fibers to the placement structure with an adhesive. The adhesive portion includes a first adhesive portion located near the tip ends of the plurality of optical fibers and a second adhesive portion located behind the first adhesive portion in the first direction. The second adhesive portion has a Young's modulus higher than that of the first adhesive portion.

Optical connector cable

An optical connector cable comprising an optical cable, a metal member, and a resin member is disclosed. The optical cable includes an optical fiber extending in a first direction, a tensile strength body provided along the optical fiber, and a jacket surrounding the optical fiber and tensile strength body. The optical fiber and the tensile strength body extend outside from an end of the jacket. The metal member includes a winding structure around which the tensile strength body extending outside from the end of the jacket is wound. The resin member holds the metal member and an extended portion of the optical fiber extended from the end of the jacket. The winding structure of the metal member is embedded in the resin member.

An optical fiber cable is disclosed. The optical fiber cable comprises an optical cable including optical fibers and a sheath where the optical fibers are arranged in a first array, and a holder. The optical fibers have first extending parts that extend outside from the sheath, and second extending parts that extends from the first extending parts to the tips of the optical fibers. The holder comprises a first portion that houses therein transition portions where the first extending parts transitions from the first array to a second array, and a second portion that holds parts of the first extending parts in the second array. The second portion is configured to hold the first extending parts in a manner such that a mutual positional relationship among the second extending parts keeps the same state as a mutual positional relationship among the first extending parts at the second portion.

An optical connector cable comprising an optical cable and a metal member is disclosed. The optical cable includes an optical fiber, a tensile strength body, and a jacket. The optical fiber extends along a first direction. The tensile strength body is provided along the optical fiber. The optical fiber and the tensile strength body extend outside from an end of the jacket along the first direction. The metal member has a winding structure around which the tensile strength body extending outside from the end of the jacket is wound. The winding structure of the metal member is positioned outside from the end of jacket along the first direction.

An optical component including an optical device, a substrate, and a lens component is disclosed. The substrate has a mounting surface on which the optical device is mounted and at least two reference marks are provided. The lens component is disposed on the substrate. The lens component includes a first surface, a second surface, a lens, at least two first transmission regions formed on the first surface, and at least two second transmission regions formed in positions facing the first transmission regions on the second surface. Each of the second transmission regions is smaller than the corresponding first transmission region. The lens component is attached to the substrate so that each of the second transmission regions is located within the corresponding first transmission region and each of the reference marks is located within the corresponding second transmission region when viewed along an observation direction orthogonal to the first surface.

An optical cable terminal fixture of the invention capable of increasing a fixing force of an optical cable and also simplifying swage operation, a terminal fixing structure of the optical cable, and an optical module. An optical cable terminal fixture includes a body having an outer sheath fixing part for fixing an outer sheath and a cable insertion path into which optical fibers are inserted, and a wind part having a wind claw on a lateral portion of the body around which a tensile strength wire is wound. Accordingly, by swaging the wind claw on which the tensile strength wire is wound to the outer sheath fixing part, a tensile force applied to an optical cable can be distributed to become resistant to tension.

A connector assembly capable of efficiently dissipating heat is provided. The connector assembly includes: an optical cable; and a connector module, and the optical cable includes an optical fiber core wire, an outer cover provided around the optical fiber core wire, and a metallic braid provided between the optical fiber core wire and the outer cover, and the connector module includes a housing defining a space, and a circuit board received in the space of the housing and mounted with a photoelectric conversion unit connected with the optical fiber core wire, and the metallic braid of the optical cable and the circuit board of the connector module are thermally connected to each other.

Connector assembly

As only either of light emitting side wirings and light receiving side wirings crossover each other, the same connectorsmay be mounted at opposite ends of an optical fiber. Thus, it is possible to provide an optical connector module at low cost. Further, as the optical fiber is connected straight from one side to the other side, an assembly process is easy.
