A storage apparatus mounted in a rack includes: a battery that is placed on a front surface side of a power supply and supplies power during a backup operation; a drive mounting unit that is placed in front of the battery and has drives mounted thereon; a midplane that is placed between the battery and the drive mounting unit and relays signals and power; and a sub-midplane that is placed between the midplane and the battery and relays signals and power from the power supply and the battery, wherein the midplane and the sub-midplane are coupled to each other by a bus bar for supplying the power from the power supply, and an air passage that is capable of supplying cooling air from an intake port, formed on the front surface, to the battery without allowing the cooling air to pass around a periphery of the drives is provided.

Storage apparatus

A storage apparatus includes one or more chassis including a first housing for a chassis fan and a second housing for a plurality of storage devices. A plurality of modules have at least either one storage device or a storage device fan. Module connectors supporting each of the modules are provided so that the modules can be freely attachable/detachable. A fan air intake port that guides air outside the chassis to the chassis fan is formed in the first housing; and a fan air exhaust port that exhausts air in the chassis to outside of the chassis is formed in the second housing; wherein some module of the plurality of modules is configured of a storage device module in which the one storage device is modulized; and another module which is configured of a module which is at least either a fan-equipped storage device module or a fan module.
