An image forming apparatus includes an apparatus body, a sheet feeder to load a roll body including a recording medium wound around, an image forming unit to form an image on the recording medium, and a conveyance unit including a conveyance belt to convey the recording medium drawn out from the roll body so as to oppose the recording medium to the image forming unit. The sheet feeder and the conveyance unit are integrated as a sheet feed conveyance unit. The sheet feed conveyance unit is configured to load the roll body in at least the sheet feeder and be drawable from the apparatus body to a position at which the conveyance belt is visible.

Image forming apparatus and method of setting print media

A paper feed apparatus in an image forming apparatus includes a first paper feed cassette storing first sheets of paper and a first driving device conveying the first sheets of paper one by one from the first paper feed cassette automatically for automatic paper feed. A mount is mounted on the first paper feed cassette and on the mount a second sheet of paper is set for manual paper feed. A second driving device is mounted on the first paper feed cassette and conveys the second sheet of paper set on the mount. The paper feed apparatus achieves a small size and has a low manufacturing cost.

A paper cassette unit includes a base part installed in an image forming system, a paper cassette having a compartment in which sheets of paper are accommodated, the paper cassette being detachably mounted in the base part, a cassette cover for covering an opening of the compartment when the paper cassette is mounted in the base part, and a connecting part connecting the cassette cover to the base part in such a way that only the cover stays in the base part when the paper cassette is demounted from the base part. The paper cassette unit also includes a size indicator for indicating size of the sheets of paper, the size indicator being detachably mounted in the paper cassette and having an integrally formed operating part including a set of projections corresponding to the indicated size, and a detection part for detecting the size of sheets of paper in use, the detection part having a set of switches depressed by corresponding projections of the operation part when the paper cassette is mounted in the base part.

An automatic circuit element mounting apparatus includes a lead wire detection mechanism for detecting lead wires of a circuit element held on a mounting head by suction and a substrate mark detection mechanism for detecting a mounting reference mark of a printed circuit board on which the circuit element is mounted by means of the mounting head, so that the amount of movement of the mounting head may be corrected depending on a result of detection by each of the detection mechanisms to precisely mount the circuit element on the printed circuit board. Also, a method for mounting a circuit element on a printed circuit board is disclosed.
