In a structure for installing a fuel pump in a fuel tank, in which the fuel pump is attached to the fuel tank by clamping a flange portion of a pump case of the fuel pump between the fuel tank and a retainer fastened to the fuel tank, an interference portion is formed integrally with an inner peripheral edge of the retainer while being overhung inward in a radial direction, the interference portion being capable of interfering with any one of protruding portions when a relative position in a peripheral direction of the retainer with respect to the flange portion is set at a non-normal position, and a non-normal surface of opposite surfaces of the retainer is faced to the flange portion.

Structure for installing fuel pump in fuel tank

To arrange a steering damper behind a head pipe in a compact manner while suppressing the influence of the steering damper on an intake duct which penetrates the vicinity of head pipes of a vehicle body frame. A steering damper is arranged between left and right main frames of a vehicle body frame and, at the same time, is arranged above or below an intake duct which penetrates the vicinity of a head pipe of the vehicle body frame.

Steering damper mounting structure

To easily secure a welding length when an opening is formed at a portion in the vicinity of a joint portion between a head pipe portion and a main frame portion. A front opening penetrating through a vehicle body frame across a head pipe portion and a main frame portion. A rib extending across the front opening along a front parting plane of the vehicle body frame. The rib being divided along the front parting plane and the edge portions of the divided rib portions opposing the outer periphery of the main frame portion are integrally joined.

Vehicle body frame structure

An intake duct structure having an intake path extending forwardly from a cleaner box, penetrating through an area near a head pipe of a vehicle body frame, and opening at a front end portion of a front cowl. During low speed operation of the engine, an intake valve closes a main intake path MR from a front end intake port and opens a sub-intake path SR from a lower portion intake port. On the other hand, during high speed operation of the engine, the intake valve opens the main intake path MR and closes the sub-intake path SR. The lower portion intake port opens forward of a head pipe inside a front cowl and obliquely downwardly toward the rear. With this arrangement, entry of rainwater into the intake path can be minimized during low speed operation of the engine.

Intake duct structure

A frame structure for a motorcycle includes a front fork which journals a front wheel and that is capable of being steered and supported by a head pipe. Front end portions of a pair of right and left pipe members are connected contiguously to the head pipe and extend downwardly and rearwardly from the head pipe. The pair of right and left pipe members each have a substantially prismatic cross sectional shape and are each bent at their longitudinally intermediate portions so as to be outwardly convex with respect to the sides of the motorcycle frame. An engine is disposed between lower portions of both pipe members in an engine mounting space. The present invention narrows the distance between the upper portions of the right and left pipe members and effectively increases the space between the lower portions of the pair of right and left pipe members.

Frame structure in motorcycle

A motorcycle includes an axle of a rear wheel supported for rotation at a rear end of a swing arm. The swing arm is supported at a front end portion thereof for rocking motion on a vehicle body frame. A rear end exhaust portion of an exhaust system connected to a cylinder head provided on an engine body carried on the vehicle body frame forwardly of the rear wheel is disposed at a position higher than the axle. An exhaust control valve for adjusting the flow area in an exhaust pipe, which forms part of the exhaust system, is disposed in the exhaust pipe. The exhaust control valve is disposed forwardly and upwardly of the axle of the rear wheel to dispose the exhaust control valve in a better environment.

Motorcycle

To facilitate attachment/detachment work of an oil filter in a vehicle engine without increasing an outer dimension thereof, and to provide a uniform a supply of engine oil into an engine body. An oil filter is attached onto a front portion of the engine body so as to be detachable in a vehicle body width direction from a side face of the engine body. An exhaust pipe on a side on which an oil filter is attached is displaced to a center side in the vehicle body width direction so as not to overlap the oil filter when viewed from a front of the engine body.

In a small-type vehicle including a cylinder head possessed by an engine main body mounted on a vehicle body frame, an intake passage portion extending rectilinearly so as to guide cleaned air from an air cleaner disposed on the upper side of the cylinder head, the intake passage portion being connected to an upper portion side wall of the cylinder head, an injector for injecting fuel into the intake passage portion from the upper side, the injector being attached to the air cleaner, and a fuel tank so disposed as to cover a rear portion and an upper portion of the air cleaner, to make it possible to secure a sufficient capacity of the fuel tank. Fuel injection system for engine in small-type vehicle

A housing support structure includes a tool housing for receiving and supporting a U-shaped locking anti-theft tool, in a vehicle having a main frame section and a pair of seat rails. The housing support structure includes a rear cover apparatus having right and left side covers for covering both seat rails from the outside, and a bottom panel section forming the bottom of the housing. The bottom panel section extends between both side covers and is provided for covering both seat rails from the top. The housing is configured to fit on top of the seat rails, with a major part of the seat rails disposed outside of the housing.

U-shaped locking anti-theft tool storage and support structure in vehicle

To provide an engine supporting structure for a motorcycle, which is capable of integrating an engine with a body frame so as to make the engine effectively function as a member for reinforcing the body frame, while preventing the supporting structure of the engine from being affected by disposition of a chain transmission means. One of two hanger portions located on the side opposed to the side on which a chain transmission is disposed with respect to a vehicular center line has an insertion hole in which an enlarged diameter head on one end side of a through-bolt is to be inserted, and a slit portion which is continuous to the inner surface of the insertion hole and which is opened downwardly. A fastening bolt is screwed in the one hanger portion for narrowing the slit portion to reduce the diameter of the insertion hole after the through-bolt is inserted in the hanger portions and a boss portion in a state in which the axial position of the through-bolt relative to the boss portion is adjusted.

Engine supporting structure for motorcycle

A motorcycle in which a front end portion of a rear swing arm for rotatably supporting a rear wheel is swingably supported via a supporting shaft by an engine supported by a body frame. The rigidity of a rear swing arm is enhanced without increasing the weights of the supporting shaft and the like. Upper end portions of a pair of right and left bracket are fixed to both ends of a supporting shaft. A cross-pipe connects lower end portions of the brackets and is fixed to the engine at a position under the supporting shaft. A pair of right and left rotatably supporting portions are swingably supported by the supporting shaft at positions between the brackets and the engine.
