A card connector is provided for receiving an inserted card module. The card connector includes a housing including a terminal holding portion for arranging terminals to make contact with electrode pads on the card module. Each terminal includes a base portion held by the terminal holding portion and a cantilevered arm portion extending from the base portion in an inclined direction relative to the transverse direction of the housing. Each arm portion includes a curved portion and a pair of inclined portions. The curved portion has a curved profile with a curved surface positioned so the center of curvature is positioned above. The inclined portions are inclined relative to the extension direction of the arm portion on both sides of the apex portion positioned at the free end. The inclined portions each have a different angle of inclination relative to the extension direction of the arm portion.

Card connector enabling the use of various types of cards

The card connector includes a socket for inserting a tray, the socket having an ejector for ejecting the inserted tray in response to a pushing operation performed using a pin inserted into a through-hole in the tray, and a lock portion extending from the proximal portion of the socket in an oblique direction vertically with respect to the insertion direction of the tray and engaging an engaged portion of the tray on the proximal side of the ejector, the lock portion being disengaged from the engaged portion of the tray by the leveling action of the pin inserted into the through-hole, and the ejector being pushed in by the pin having leveled the lock portion.

Card connector

A board-to-board connector comprising a first connector having a first terminal and a first housing that includes a first fitting guide part formed on both ends in the long side direction, and a second connector having a second terminal that contacts to the first terminal and a second housing that includes a second fitting guide part that fits with the first fitting guide part, includes a switch that closes a detection circuit that electrically detects a complete fit of the first connector and the second connector. In one embodiment, each switch has the ability to mutually contact, and one side of the switch is a first reinforcing bracket, and the other side is a second reinforcing bracket.

A board-to-board connector comprises a first connector, a second connector and a switch. The first connector includes a first terminal and a first housing. The first housing includes a recessed portion and a first reinforcing bracket. The second connector includes a second terminal and a second housing. The second housing includes a raised portion and a second reinforcing bracket. The raised portion is insertable into the recessed portion. The switch detects the fit completion of the first connector and the second connector. The switch includes a plurality of switching members, each with the ability to contact another switching member. To signal mating, in one embodiment, an arm mounted on a bracket is pressed against a pad of a circuit board. In another embodiment, a contact portion on one housing contacts two members on the other housing. In another embodiment, the switch includes a connection between terminals disposed on each connector.

Board-to-board connector with mating indicating means

There is provided an electrical connector including; a first connector having a first housing, a second connector which is mated with the first connector to be electrically connected thereto, a plurality of first connector terminals which are attached to the first housing, a plurality of through-holes which are formed in the first housing so as to be arranged in a predetermined direction and into which the first connector terminals are inserted; and a recess formed adjacently to the through-holes in the first housing. Accordingly, appearance of crack is suppressed even after the contact terminals are pressed-in by suppressing appearance of weld lines in the vicinity of through-holes.

Terminals

A surface mount connector includes first terminals and second terminals to be mated to counterpart terminals of a mating counterpart connector. The first terminals and the second terminals are mounted in a housing in an alternating array. Each of the first terminals includes a contact portion to be connected to a first counterpart terminal, a fixing portion connected to an outer side of the contact portion and fixed to the housing, and a surface-mounting soldering portion connected to an outer side of the fixing portion. Each of the second terminals includes a contact portion to be connected to a second counterpart terminal, a fixing portion connected to an outer side of the connecting portion and fixed to the housing, and a surface-mounting soldering portion connected to a mounting-surface side end of the fixing portion.

High density surface mount connector

An electrical connector comprises a generally rectangular dielectric housing with a mating face and a mounting face. A plurality of terminal support posts extend in a direction from the mounting face towards the mating face and each support post has oppositely facing first and second sidewalls and a connecting surface. A plurality of terminal receiving cavities are spaced along a longitudinal axis of the housing for receiving terminals therein. A plurality of terminals are provided with each including a solder tail portion and a generally U-shaped contact portion. The solder tail portion is positioned along the mounting face and the contact portion includes a first, distal contact leg, a second, proximal contact leg spaced from and generally parallel to the first contact leg and a connecting portion extending between the first and second contact legs. The first contact leg extends along the first sidewall, the second contact leg extending along the second sidewall, and the connecting portion extending along the connecting surface.

Low profile board-to-board connector mating pair with solder barrier

A board-to board electrical connector assembly is provided for effecting a connection between two circuit boards. The assembly includes a first connector having a dielectric housing for mounting on a first circuit board. A plurality of first terminals are 5 mounted on the dielectric housing and each terminal includes a tail portion for connection to an appropriate circuit trace on the first circuit board and a convex contact portion defining a continuous arcuate contact surface. A second connector has a dielectric housing for mounting on a second circuit board. A plurality of second terminals are mounted on the dielectric housing of the second connector and each second terminal includes a tail portionfor connection to an appropriate circuit trace on the second circuit board, and a contact projection for sliding over the continuous arcuate contact surface of the convex contact portion of the first terminals upon mating of the connectors.

Board-to-board electrical connector assembly

A board mounted connector for a board to board connector system is disclosed which can be smaller, provide a more robust connection to a conductive circuit on a printed circuit board while allowing for a high degree of circuit design freedom on the board circuit due to the terminal insertion from the mating side of the housing where the terminals are generally above a bottom portion () of the non-conductive housing () adjacent the board. The housing () is provided with fitting holes () extending from an end surface () on the side which mates with the male housing (). The female terminals () have anchor portions () to be fitted into the fitting holes () of the female housing () and contact portions () to engage terminals in a mating connector. Forward end portions () of the anchor portions () are soldered to a circuit terminal of the board (). Cut out portions () in the rectangular frame portion () allow for the solder joint between the end portion () and the conductive circuit () to be inspected.

Board to board connector

A PGA socket having structure that permits the slide plate to be kept center-aligned while moving on the base housing, thus assuring that reliable electric connections be established between the PGA lead pins and the terminals of the socket. The PGA socket includes a base housing and a slide plate, the slide plate being movable between a first, or lead pin inserting position, in which the lead pins of the pin grid array package can be inserted in the through holes and the terminal mounts and a second, or locking position, in which the lead pins are applied to the terminals in the terminal mounts. The PGA socket includes at least one resilient piece on either the base housing or the slide plate and that other of the base housing or slide plate has an engagement means for receiving the at least one resilient piece. The resilient piece may be engaged with the engagement means in such a manner that the slide plate is kept aligned relative to its center when it is operated between the first position and the second position. Moreover, the PGA socket may include two resilient pieces, and the two resilient pieces may be arranged symmetrically with respect to the centerline of the base housing.

Disclosed is an unlocking-proof PGA package socket which is so designed that upon the slide plate being put in its locking position for fastening a PGA package to the socket the longest vector of the circular cam member runs beyond the point of contact at which the cam member is put in contact with the slide plate, thereby allowing the kickback to push the cam member in the direction opposite to the direction in which the cam member turns toward unlocking position.

A card connector is provided for receiving an integrated circuit card. The connector has a connector housing including a metal shell with a slot for receiving the card. A side wall of the shell defines at least a portion of the slot. A spring contact protrudes from the side wall into the slot for engaging an appropriate conductive portion of the integrated circuit card when inserted into the slot. The spring contact includes a proximal bent portion extending angularly from the side wall outwardly beyond the slot. A distal bent portion extends angularly from the proximal bent portion back into the slot for engaging the conductive portion of the inserted circuit card.

Shielded card connector with improved contacts

A detection switch mounted in a card socket including contact members responsive to insertion of a card into the card socket. The switch includes two or more contact members of the same design, each contact member having a switch contact formed on opposite ends. The switch contact at one end has a front contact section formed in the card width-parallel plane defining a first switch contact. The switch contact at the other end has a rear contact section formed in the card thickness-parallel direction and defines a second switch contact in confronting relation with the first contact. Insertion of the card in the card socket causes the first switch contact to move in the card width-parallel plane toward the second switch contact in the card thickness-parallel direction so that the second contact is contacted and wiped by the first contact.

A socket for a PGA package can maintain high reliability of connecting condition for a long period. The socket is constructed by mounting a reinforcement plate formed with a metal plate or the like at the position where the cam member contacts the slide plate so that the slide plate, which is formed of an insulative materials such as plastic or the like, will not be deformed upon exertion of a reaction force from a plurality of lead pins of a PGA package.
