Solid electrolyte and method for producing solid electrolyte

Provided is a solid electrolyte which contains a composition expressed by 3LiOH·LiSO. The solid electrolyte has a lithium ion conductivity of 0.1×10S/cm or more at 25° C. and an activation energy of 0.6 eV or more.

Solid electrolyte

Provided is an all-solid lithium battery including: a low-angle oriented positive electrode plate that is a lithium complex oxide sintered plate having a porosity of 10 to 50%; a negative electrode plate containing Ti and capable of intercalating and deintercalating lithium ions at 0.4 V or higher (vs. Li/Li); and a solid electrolyte having a melting point lower than the melting point or pyrolytic temperature of the oriented positive electrode plate or the negative electrode plate, wherein at least 30% of pores in the oriented positive electrode plate is filled with the solid electrolyte in an observation of a cross-section perpendicular to a main face of the oriented positive electrode plate.

All-solid lithium battery and method of manufacturing same

Provided is a secondary battery including: a positive electrode plate composed of an inorganic material containing a positive electrode active material in an oxide form and having a thickness of 25 &#x3bc;m or more; a negative electrode plate composed of an inorganic material containing a negative electrode active material in an oxide form and having a thickness of 25 &#x3bc;m or more; and an inorganic solid electrolyte, the secondary battery being charged and discharged at a temperature of 100&#xb0; C. or higher.

Secondary battery

Provided is a battery-equipped device including a substrate, a device disposed on the substrate, an all-solid-state battery disposed such that the planar shape conforms to the periphery of the device on the substrate and at least partially having a complementary outer edge shape that conforms to the entire or a part of the outer edge shape of the device, and interconnections connecting the device and the all-solid-state battery. The all-solid-state battery includes a positive electrode layer containing an oriented polycrystalline positive-electrode active material composed of lithium transition metal oxide particles oriented in a certain direction, a solid electrolyte layer composed of a lithium-ion conductive material, and a negative electrode layer containing a negative-electrode active material. The present invention can provide a battery-equipped device that can significantly increase the degree of freedom of design and can output necessary electric power in a minimum space.

Battery-equipped device

Disclosed is use of an all-solid-state battery as a backup power source in at least one device selected from the group consisting of a computer, a laptop computer, a portable computer, a pocket computer, a workstation, a supercomputer, computer-peripheral hardware, and a server. This all-solid-state battery comprises a positive electrode layer comprising a positive-electrode active material that is an oriented polycrystalline body composed of lithium transition metal oxide grains oriented in a given direction; a solid electrolyte layer composed of a lithium-ion conductive material; and a negative electrode layer comprising a negative-electrode active material.

Method of using all-solid-state battery

A solid oxide fuel cell includes a first cell, a second cell and an interconnector. The first cell and the second cell respectively include an anode containing NiO and CaZrO, a cathode, and a solid electrolyte layer disposed between the anode and the cathode. The interconnector is connected to the anode of the first cell and the current collector of the second cell. The interconnector contains LaCaCrO. The molar ratio of Ca to Zr in the anode is greater than 1.0.

Solid oxide fuel cell

A ceramic material that can exhibit sufficient compactness and lithium (Li) conductivity to enable the use thereof as a solid electrolyte material for a lithium secondary battery and the like is provided. The ceramic material contains aluminum (Al) and has a garnet-type crystal structure or a garnet-like crystal structure containing lithium (Li), lanthanum (La), zirconium (Zr) and oxygen (O).

Ceramic material and process for producing the same

The present invention provides a ceramic material allowing a pellet having higher density and satisfactory Li ion conduction to be obtained. The ceramic material contains Li, La, Zr, Al and O and has a garnet-type or garnet-like crystal structure, the ratio of the number of moles of Li with respect to La being 2.0 or greater to 2.5 or lower.

Ceramic material and use thereof

An all-solid-state cell has a fired solid electrolyte body, a first electrode layer integrally formed on one surface of the fired solid electrolyte body by mixing and firing an electrode active material and a solid electrolyte, and a second electrode layer integrally formed on the other surface of the fired solid electrolyte body by mixing and firing an electrode active material and a solid electrolyte. The first and the second electrode layers are formed by mixing and firing the electrode active material and the amorphous solid electrolyte, which satisfy the relation Ty&#x3e;Tz (wherein Ty is a temperature at which the capacity of the electrode active material is lowered by reaction between the electrode active material and the solid electrolyte material, and Tz is a temperature at which the solid electrolyte material is shrunk by firing).

All-solid-state cell

An all-solid-state cell contains a combination of an electrode active material and a solid electrolyte, and has a plate-shaped fired solid electrolyte body of a ceramic containing a solid electrolyte, a first electrode layer (e.g. a positive electrode) integrally formed on one surface of the fired solid electrolyte body by mixing and firing an electrode active material and a solid electrolyte, and a second electrode layer (e.g. a negative electrode) integrally formed on the other surface of the fired solid electrolyte body by mixing and firing an electrode active material and a solid electrolyte. The solid electrolyte materials added to the first electrode layer and the second electrode layer comprise an amorphous polyanion compound.

A solid oxide fuel cell includes two or more power generating elements each having a cathode, an anode, and an electrolyte layer placed between the cathode and the anode; an interconnector electrically connecting the power generating elements and containing a chromite-based material; and a sealing portion provided between the electrolyte layer and the interconnector and not containing either Ni or ZrO.

The present invention provides a ceramic material capable of demonstrating compactness and Li ion conductivity to an extent that enables the use of the ceramic material as a solid-state electrolyte material for a lithium secondary battery, or the like. A ceramic material containing Li, La, Zr, Nb and/or Ta, as well as O and having a garnet-type or garnet-like crystal structure is used.

Ceramic material and preparation method therefor

A solid electrolyte structure containing a porous solid electrolyte is prepared. At least the porous solid electrolyte of the solid electrolyte structure is immersed in a first sol solution containing at least a precursor of an electrode active material as a solute. Then, the first sol solution, in which the porous solid electrolyte is immersed, is heated. A solvent of the first sol solution is evaporated by the heating, whereby a pore of the porous solid electrolyte is filled with a high concentration (a large amount) of the electrode active material precursor.
