A fixing apparatus includes a first pressing roller, a belt wound around the first pressing roller, a second pressing roller, and a roller position changer that changes a position of the second pressing roller. The second pressing roller faces the first pressing roller across the belt and forms a fixing nip portion between itself and the belt. At least one of the first pressing roller and the second pressing roller includes a core metal and a foam body covering the core metal. The roller position changer changes a position of the second pressing roller based on a kind of print medium to change a peak surface pressure of the fixing nip portion, such that a range where maximum shearing strain occurs from an interface between the core metal and the foam body in the foam body is a predetermined range.

A fixing device includes a first pressing member, a fixing belt, a second pressing member, a load adjustment unit, a tension adjustment unit and a control unit. The first pressing member has an elastic layer. The fixing belt is wound around the first pressing member. The second pressing member presses against the first pressing member via the fixing belt, conveys the recording member and forms a fixing nip. The load adjustment unit adjusts pressing load of the first pressing member and the second pressing member. The tension adjustment unit adjusts tension of the fixing belt. The control unit controls the load adjustment unit so as to change a width of the fixing nip in a recording member conveyance direction and controls the tension adjustment unit so as to change the tension of the fixing belt.

Fixing device and image forming apparatus

A fixing device and An image forming apparatus include: a first pressure roller having an elastic layer in a surface layer section; a fixing belt wound on the elastic layer of the first pressure roller; a second pressure roller that presses the elastic layer of the first pressure roller via the fixing belt, the second pressure roller forming a fixing nip portion between the fixing belt and the second pressure roller; and a guide member that guides the fixing belt in such a manner as to separate the fixing belt from a protruding portion of the elastic layer, the protruding portion being formed on an entrance side of the fixing nip portion in a sheet conveying direction.

A fixation unit which allows paper with a toner image formed thereon to be fed between a first roller and a second roller for fixing the toner image on the sheet. The fixation unit includes a drive controller. The drive controller rotates the first and second rollers on different driving conditions. The drive controller rotates the first roller at a constant circumferential speed at least in a state where the first and second rollers are in pressure contact with each other and rotates the second roller with a constant torque which is low enough for the second roller to stop rotating when the first roller stops rotating.

A fixing device to fix a toner image on a recording medium in a nip portion formed by a heated fixing member and a pressure member, the fixing device including: an air ejection section to eject and blow air against the recording medium to separate the recording medium from the fixing member, a first guide member provided on a fixing face side of the recording medium discharged from the nip portion to guide the recording medium, a second guide member provided on a non-fixing face side of the recording medium discharged from the nip portion to guide the recording medium, also having a predetermined clearance with respect to the pressure member, and an air suction section provided on a opposite side position with respect to the first guide member in the second guide member to suction air of the clearance and attract the recording medium to the second guide member.

A fixing device conveying a sheet carrying a toner image under heating and pressurization at a nip section and fixing the toner image on the sheet comprising; a fixing member provided with a heating member, a pressure member pressing on the fixing member and forming the nip section which sandwiches the sheet carrying the toner image; a blower duct equipped with an outlet opening toward a vicinity of a sheet outlet of the nip section; a blower member for blowing air in a vicinity of the sheet outlet through the blower duct; and a guide device provided with a guide member for guiding the sheet ejected from the nip section arranged on an upper side of a sheet conveyance path; and, further comprising a biasing member for biasing the sheet toward the guide member, in the vicinity of the nip section.
