A processing method and a processing machine for restraining abrupt increase in a load applied to a tool in entering a workpiece and for avoiding decrease in tool's life span are provided. When an end mill EM is entered into a processing surface of a workpiece W, the end mill EM is first entered obliquely to a processing surface of the workpiece W, and is moved oppositely to the entering direction while keeping the cutting depth. Alternatively, the end mill EM is entered obliquely to the processing surface of the workpiece W and is moved oppositely to the entering direction while gradually increasing the cutting depth of the end mill EM. When the cutting depth reaches a predetermined cutting depth, the end mill EM is moved parallel to the processing surface of the workpiece W.

Processing method for carving a workpiece

A history of function values of a spindle rotation frequency in each time period from present to past is stored in a data table D and corrective coefficients are stored in advance in a corrective coefficient table C relating the coefficients to the location in the data table D. Each location and corrective coefficient are read out from the corrective coefficient table C and the function value of the spindle rotation frequency corresponding to the location is read out from the data table D. The compensation value is calculated from the total sum of each product of the function value and the corrective coefficient in each location and compensate the NC command position with the compensation value.

Machine tool displacement correcting apparatus

An automatic tool exchanging machine include a machine body such as gear box, a tool exchanging arm having a tool grasping member and supported by the machine body to be rotatable and to be linearly reciprocally movable in an axial direction of a rotation shaft of the machine body, a rotation drive mechanism provided for the machine body, and a power transmission mechanism for transmitting a driving power of the rotation drive mechanism to the tool exchanging arm. The power transmission mechanism is provided with a motion conversion mechanism for converting a rotational motion of the rotation drive mechanism including servo-motors to a linear reciprocal motion of the tool exchanging arm and the motion conversion mechanism is composed of a feed screw mechanism. The feed screw mechanism is a ball screw mechanism.

Automatic tool exchanging machine

A surface finishing method and a machine therefor, in which good finish accuracy can be obtained in all carving surfaces and deterioration of tool's life can be prevented. When a surface of a concave portion formed on a workpiece is carved, an end mill is first revolved along an outermost side of a slope, and is moved toward inside and revolved along a circumferential direction. When a surface of the slope is carved, a movement path of the end mill is selected so that the surface of the slope is down-cut. When a bottom is carved, the end mill is moved from inside to outside, in other words, the movement path is selected so that a surface of the bottom is down-cut.

Automatic pallet changer method and apparatus

In a numerical control of a machine tool, the relation between the total number of instructions, or the range of movement of the movable member of the machine tool and the actual amount of movement is not represented by a straight line but periodically change sinusoidally over substantially equal ranges of movement, due to a lead error of a ball screw used for moving the movable element. For the purpose of correctly compensate the position error in a short time, the total range of movement of the movable element is divided into a plurality of ranges, and start and end points of movement, types of movement of respective ranges and periods thereof are stored in memory means. The actual position of the movable element and the data stored in the memory means are used to correct the actual position of the movable member.

In a machine tool having a table adapted to support a workpiece, a plurality of drive shafts for moving the table in three directional directions by servomotors, servo control apparatus controlling the servomotors in response to position instructions, drive shaft control apparatus including position detectors of the servomotors, each drive shaft control apparatus is made up of a servomotor rotation reversal detector for producing a movement reversal signal, a memory device for storing correction amounts necessary to compensate for a position error of the axis of the spindle of the machine tool which occurs as a result of reversal of the direction of movement of the drive shaft and other drive shafts and a transfer switches for selecting the memory device in response to the movement reversal signal and for feeding back to the servo control apparatus the correction amount read out from the memory device.
