A projection display device includes: a leg section that supports a main body of the projection display device with respect to an installation surface on which the main body is installed; and a filter section that is disposed on a bottom of the main body and exposes a first air intake surface to the outside. In this arrangement, the first air intake surface is inclined with respect to the bottom surface of the main body in a direction that departs from the installation surface, and air flows into the filter section through a clearance between the first air intake surface and the installation surface.

Projection display device

A projector which includes a first exhaust fan discharging exhaust air from a light source lamp to exterior and a second exhaust fan discharging exhaust air from parts other than the light source lamp are arranged to be adjacent to each other. An end of the exhaust fan facing the other exhaust fan is moved to the inner side and the one exhaust fan is inclined to discharge air in an exhaust direction toward a direction along which air is discharged from the other exhaust fan. There is provided a cooling fan that blows air to an interior air blow outlet communicating with the interior of the light source lamp and exterior air blow outlets communicating with an outer surface to cool the light source lamp. The exterior air blow outlets are deviated from the center of the outer surface of the light source lamp.

Projection type image display apparatus with angled exhaust fan

A projector to which a ceiling suspension attachment is fixed. The projector accommodates an internal device. The projector is provided with an outer case including a bottom wall that defines an outer bottom surface and an inner bottom surface of the outer case. Insert nuts are arranged on the bottom wall. Each insert nut includes a threaded hole to which a first coupling screw is fastened and a second coupling screw can be fastened. The first coupling screw couples the attachment to the outer bottom surface of the bottom wall, and the second coupling screw is fastened to the threaded hole from a side opposite to the first coupling screw. The second coupling screw is fastened at least one of the insert nuts to couple the inner device to the inner bottom surface of the bottom wall.

This invention provide a projector apparatus enabled to lower its exhaust air temperature by adding only minor modifications to the existing structure, without altering its basic structure. The liquid crystal projector apparatus of the invention has a casing () for accommodating therein a light source (), an optical system adapted to construct imaging light in response to a beam of light received from the light source, a power supply (), and a cooling unit () mounted on the side wall of the casing () to cool the components in the casing. Provided on the inner wall of the casing is an air inspiration mechanism () in association with the exhaust unit (), whereby the exhaust unit () can inspire ambient air through the air inspiration mechanism to lower the temperature of the air to be expired from the exhaust unit.

Projector apparatus

In a projection image display apparatus, a noise removal filter portionis separated from a power source unit body. The separated noise removal filter portionis provided in the vicinity of a side wall of a housing on which a power source inlet is provided, and of the power source unit body, respectively. Specifically, the power source unit bodyis provided along a side wall of a front face of the horizontally-long housing of the projection image display apparatus and the noise removal filter portionis provided in a position opposed to the power source unit bodyin a side wall of the back face. As a result, even when a light source lamp has a higher output, the projection image display apparatus can achieve reduced noise by an improved cooling capability and reduced cost enabled by an efficient Electro Magnetic Compatibility (EMC) measure and the like.

Projection image display apparatus having a noise removal filter portion

A liquid crystal projector device of the present invention includes an optical system for receiving light from a lamp unit. The optical system is provided with a polarization beam splitter for extracting only an S wave out of P and S waves of the light emitted from the lamp unit, and also provided with a latter stage slit plate in contact with a light incidence surface of the polarization beam splitter. The latter stage slit plate is provided with a plurality of slits for allowing light incidence on the polarization beam splitter. A former stage slit plate is arranged in a position spaced apart from the latter stage slit plate along the optical axis toward the lamp unit. The former stage slit plate is provided with a plurality of slits overlapping in the optical axis direction with the respective slits of the latter stage slit plate.

Projector device

A projector apparatus equipped with a metal plate structure serving as a light shield against a light source and as a heat radiator is provided. The metal plate structure is arranged over the light source to hide the light source. The metal plate structure extends farther to a cooling fan and connects to the upper end of the air expiration face of the fan. The metal plate structure thus serves as the top plate of the baffle section of the exhaust duct of the fan for leading the air expired from the fan. The metal plate structure also serves as a shield plate, which can be connected to a grounded metal piece.

A projector apparatus and a lamp fixation structure for use with the projector apparatus are disclosed. The lamp fixation structure has a lower holder, which includes an integrally formed lower holder lens section and a lower holder lamp section. The lower holder lens section defines a lens fitting slot for fixing a lens, and a lower holder lamp section defines a lamp fitting slot for fixing a lamp. The lens fixing slot includes an upper holder connected to the lower holder. The lamp fixation structure also includes an integrally formed metal holder, which has an elastic top plate, elastic lateral plates, a front plate, an elastic bottom plate, and elastic jointing plates. The inventive lamp fixation structure of the projector apparatus consists of a fewer components and can be assembled in a simple manner, yet it is highly wrought.

A projector having optical components, a power source unit, and a light source unit. The projector is capable of lowering its internal temperature utilizing: a first, second, and third fan () provided near the optical components for introducing external air from outside the projector to cool the optical components; and a fourth, fifth, and sixth exhaust fan (). The fourth fan () blows the air that was taken in by the first, second, and third fan () and has cooled the optical components, onto the light source unit to further cool the light source unit. The fifth and sixth exhaust fans () discharge the air that has cooled the light source unit and power supply unit out of the projector.

Multistage cooling system for projector

The invention enables efficient cooling of: a light source providing source light; an optical system adapted to split the source light received from the light source into three primary colors R, G, and B; and a power supply unit for supplying electric power to various electric components installed in a casing of a projector apparatus. To do so, a first fan is arranged between the light source and the power supply unit such that its air inspiration face is directed to the power supply unit and its air expiration face is directed to the light source. Further, a second fan, adapted to inspire air from within the projector apparatus, is provided in the central area of the projector apparatus. On the air expiration side of the second fan is a cooling duct for cooling the light source and optical system. In addition, a third fan for cooling a G-LCP unit and an R-LCP unit of the image synthesizing device and a fourth fan for cooling a B-LCP and an R-LCP unit of the image synthesizing device are provided in such a way that the streams of air expired from said third and fourth fans intersect each other. The invention allows operation of a projector apparatus with a fewer fans, yet achieves suppression of exhaust air temperature and noise, and cost reduction as well.

Projection type image display apparatus

A liquid crystal projector device of the present invention includes a lamp unit having a lamp and a reflector, and a cooling fan for cooling the lamp unit. The reflector includes a reflecting portion having a parabolic reflecting surface, and a plurality of side walls extending from the reflecting portion to surround the lamp. A first side wall of the plurality of side walls is provided with a first air intake opening and a second air intake opening for introducing air delivered from the cooling unit toward the lamp, at both sides of a plane including a central axis of the lamp and orthogonal to the first side wall. A wind blocking wall is defined between both air intake openings. An air discharge opening is formed on a second side wall opposed to the first side wall.

A liquid crystal projector device of the present invention includes a casing having disposed therein a lamp unit, an optical system for receiving light from the lamp unit to generate image light, and a power unit. An exhaust system for cooling an inside of the casing is attached to a side surface of the casing. The exhaust system includes a first exhaust fan and a second exhaust fan, which stand along the side surface of the casing. The first exhaust fan is placed toward the lamp unit, while the second exhaust fan is placed toward the power unit. Exhaust directions of both exhaust fans intersect each other.

Projector with exhaust fans having intersecting exhaust directions

The projector apparatus of the invention constructs colored imaging light by splitting a beam of light received from a light source into beams of three primary colors and inputting the beams of three primary colors in an image synthesizing device via light adjusting device. The image synthesizing device includes a prism, a prism mount for fixing the prism, LCPs, and LCP holders integral with the prism mounts for fixing the LCPs. The prism mount has a central area and multiple peripheral areas, each area in contact with the prism. The invention provides effective solution for solving reliability problems encountered in a cost reduction strategy for miniaturization of a prism and for using inexpensive plastic prism fixation members.

A liquid crystal projector device of the present invention includes a lamp unit, an optical system for separating light emitted from the lamp unit into light of three primary colors, and an image synthesizer for generating image light of three primary colors from the light of three primary colors, and synthesizing the generated image light of three primary colors into color image light. The image synthesizer includes three liquid crystal panels for three primary colors and three incidence polarizing plates arranged at light incidence sides of the liquid crystal panels. Each of the incidence polarizing plates includes a glass base material and a polarizing film joined to a surface thereof. The surface area ratio of the glass base material to the polarizing film is set to 178%.
