A conveyance apparatus includes a conveyor and processing circuitry. The conveyor conveys a sheet. The processing circuitry controls conveyance of the sheet by the conveyor and switching a direction in which the conveyor conveys the sheet to a direction opposite to a direction in which the sheet is ejected, after the conveyance of the sheet is stopped under a predetermined condition.

Conveyance apparatus and printing apparatus

A conveying device includes a rotating carrier, an inlet rotary body, an outlet rotary body, a downstream conveyor, and an inching controller. The rotating carrier carries a sheet. The inlet rotary body transfers the sheet to the rotary carrier from upstream of the rotary carrier in a conveyance direction of the sheet. The outlet rotary body transfers the sheet to a downstream area from the rotary carrier in the conveyance direction. The downstream conveyor conveys the sheet downstream from the outlet rotary body in the conveyance direction. The inching controller performs an inching operation to convey the sheet on a conveyance path including at least the downstream conveyor. The inching controller causes at least the outlet rotary body and the downstream conveyor to perform a conveying operation in conjunction with each other in the inching operation.

A conveyor includes a first conveyance path along which a sheet is conveyed in a first direction, a second conveyance path along which the sheet is conveyed in a second direction different from the first direction, a switching part configured to switch a conveyance direction of the sheet between the first direction and the second direction, a sheet detector configured to detect the sheet at the switching part, a conveyance system driver configured to convey and stop the sheet, and circuitry configured to control the conveyance system driver to stop conveyance of the sheet in a predetermined condition, control the sheet detector to detect the sheet at the switching part, and control the switching part to switch the conveyance direction of the sheet from the first direction to the second direction when the sheet detector does not detect the sheet at the switching part.

Conveyor and printer

A coating apparatus is connectable to both an image forming apparatus and a sheet feeder. The coating apparatus includes a coater, a carry-in entrance, and an ejector. The coater coats a recording medium with a treatment liquid. The carry-in entrance is on one of two exterior wall surfaces facing each other. The recording medium is conveyed from the sheet feeder through the carry-in entrance. The ejector is on another of the two exterior wall surfaces. The ejector ejects the recording medium to the image forming apparatus. A position of the carry-in entrance on the one of the exterior wall surfaces matches a position of the ejector on said another of the exterior wall surfaces.

An image forming apparatus includes an intermediate transfer body; an image formation unit, configured to form a toner image on the intermediate transfer body; a transfer unit, arranged opposite the intermediate transfer body, configured to transfer the toner image onto a recording medium at a secondary transfer position; a first cleaning unit configured to collect toner of the toner image; a conveyance unit configured to convey the recording medium along a conveyance path; a jam detection unit configured to detect a jam of the recording medium conveyed on the conveyance path; a jam processing unit configured to transfer residual toner, which is not transferred onto the recording medium when the jam is detected by the jam detection unit, from the intermediate transfer body to the transfer unit; and a second cleaning unit configured to collect the residual toner on the transfer unit.

Image forming apparatus and image forming method

A sheet conveying device includes a sheet skew corrector to correct a skew of a leading end of a sheet inclining from a sheet conveyance direction and a pair of registration rollers disposed upstream of the sheet skew corrector in the sheet conveyance direction. The pair of registration rollers freely contacts and separates from each other. The pair of registration rollers conveys the sheet downstream of the sheet skew corrector in the sheet conveyance direction when driven at a prescribed time. A pair of conveyance rollers is placed upstream of the pair of registration rollers in the sheet conveyance direction. The pair of conveyance rollers continuously sandwiches the sheet from when the sheet with the skew corrected is sandwiched by the pair of registration rollers to when a trailing end of the sheet passes between the pair of conveyance rollers.

Sheet conveying device, image forming apparatus with sheet conveying device, and method of correcting skew of sheet by using sheet conveying device

A conveying apparatus includes a first conveying unit that conveys a recording medium, a reversing unit that reverses the recording medium conveyed by the first conveying unit, a second conveying unit that conveys the recording medium from the reversing unit to the first conveying unit, and a first supply unit and a second supply unit that supply the recording medium to the second conveying unit at different supply positions. When sequentially reversing/conveying multiple sheets of the recording medium, a control unit alternately conveys the recording medium that has been reversed by the reversing unit and the recording medium that is supplied from the first or second supply unit after a predetermined number of sheets of the recording medium have been reversed by the reversing unit, and changes the predetermined number depending on whether the recording medium is supplied from the first supply unit or the second supply unit.

Conveying apparatus, image forming apparatus, and conveying control method

A sheet conveying device, which is incorporated in an image forming apparatus, includes a fixing device to fix an image to a sheet, a holding/conveying belt device having a plurality of belts to sandwich and convey the sheet to a downstream side from the fixing device, and a first sheet detector to detect whether the sheet exists in the belt device. When the sheet is detected at a paper jam, the fixing device and the belt device are continuously driven. When not detected, driving of the fixing device and the belt device is stopped. A method of conveying the sheet includes detecting the paper jam in the image forming apparatus, detecting the sheet in the belt device or between the fixing device and the belt device, and continuing at least one of the belt device and the fixing device based on a sheet detection result.

Sheet conveying device, image forming apparatus incorporating same, and method of conveying a sheet in the image forming apparatus

The present device includes a conveying path, a contact member coming in contact with the front of a printing medium to stop the conveyance of the medium, a hold member holding the front of the medium having contacted with the contact member, a first conveying unit conveying the medium so as to abut the contact member to form slack on the medium between itself and the hold member holding the medium, and a second conveying unit being provided nearer to the hold member than the first conveying unit in the conveying direction and conveying the medium so as to abut the contact member to form the slack. The second conveying unit is movable so that a part thereof existing on the side where the slack is formed on the medium in the conveying path is moved to the outside of the conveying path.

Disclosed is a device for correcting an edge portion of a sheet material, including a first roller provided in a sheet material conveying path, a second roller including a center shaft and side rollers provided at both sides thereof, the center shaft having an outer diameter less than a minimum diameter of the side rollers, each of the side rollers having an outer diameter increasing from a center side to an outer side thereof, and a pressing unit configured to cause the second roller to bend toward the first roller to press the side rollers of the second roller against the first roller.

A sheet conveyance device includes an upstream rotary member and a downstream rotary member, an endless rotatable conveyance belt, stretched over the upstream rotary member and the downstream rotary member, to convey a sheet of recording media thereon in a predetermined conveyance direction, a conveyance guide disposed downstream of the conveyance belt in the predetermined conveyance direction, disposed across a gap from the conveyance belt, to guide the sheet to a predetermined conveyance position, and a guide member to introduce the sheet into a gap between the conveyance belt and the conveyance guide and onto the conveyance belt, so that the sheet is conveyed from the downstream rotary member to the upstream rotary member.
