A method for registering a first electronic key, which is capable of controlling a communication subject, to a controller of the communication subject, the method including: performing an initial production process including storing identification information unique to the communication subject in the controller, and storing an encryption key generation code unique to the first electronic key and an encryption key that is used to verify the first electronic key in the first electronic key; and performing an initial registration process including writing the identification information stored in the controller to the first electronic key, obtaining the encryption key generation code from the first electronic key, generating the encryption key with an encryption key generation logic that uses the encryption key generation code, storing the encryption key in the controller, and storing encryption key information related to the encryption key in a database in association with the identification information.

Electronic key registration method and electronic key registration system

An immobilizer ECU generates an encryption key using key generating logic, from a SEED code included in an ID code signal sent from an electronic key, and registers the encryption key to the immobilizer ECU. The immobilizer ECU receives an instruction from a registration and deletion tool and sends, to the electronic key, a deletion request signal that requests the deletion of the SEED code. The electronic key deletes the SEED code from the electronic key if a deletion request signal has been received.

Portable device registration system and portable device registration method

A method for registering first and second electronic keys, which are capable of controlling a communication subject, to a controller of the communication subject, wherein the first electronic key is to be initially registered, and the second electronic key is to be additionally registered, the method including: performing an additional key production process including storing, in the second electronic key, an additional encryption key generation code unique to the second electronic key and an additional encryption key that is used to verify the second electronic key; and performing a key additional registration process including obtaining the additional encryption key generation code from the second electronic key when identification information unique to the communication subject is stored in the second electronic key, generating the additional encryption key with an additional encryption key generation logic, and storing the additional encryption key in the controller.

Wireless communications system

An electronic key registration system includes a controller of a communication subject, an initial electronic key that communicates with the communication subject and has an initial encryption key generation code, an additional electronic key that communicates with the communication subject, and an information center including an additional encryption key. The initial electronic key holds an initial encryption key generated from the initial encryption key generation code and a logic. The controller holds the logic and identification information of the communication subject. The controller acquires the initial encryption key generation code from the initial electronic key, generates an initial encryption key from the initial encryption key generation code and the logic held by the controller, and stores the initial encryption key. The information center sends the additional encryption key to the additional electronic key or the controller through a network.

Electronic key registration system

An offline immobilizer ECU reads an encryption key generation code from an offline additional electronic key and generates an electronic key encryption key for the offline additional electronic key using the encryption key generation code and a communication subject key encryption key held by the immobilizer ECU. The immobilizer ECU stores, in a memory, the generated electronic key encryption key and a key ID code that is read from the offline additional electronic key.

An immobilizer ECU transmits a vehicle ID code and a SEED code, which is read from an electronic key, to a data center online. The data center generates an encryption key from the received SEED code and a first logic, and generates a further SEED code from the encryption key, the vehicle ID code, and a second logic. The immobilizer ECU obtains the further SEED code online from the data center, generates the encryption key from the obtained further SEED code, the vehicle ID code, and the second logic, and stores the encryption key.

An electronic key registration system includes a controller arranged in a communication subject communicable with an electronic key. A registration tool is in wired or wireless connection with the communication subject. The registration tool registers the electronic key to the controller when receiving a registration permission signal. An information center is connected to a network. The registration tool includes an operator ID acquisition unit that acquires an operator ID from a key registration operator. A communication unit sends the operator ID to the information center through the network. The information center includes an operator ID verification unit that verifies the operator ID received from the registration tool. A permission information notification unit sends, when the operator ID is verified, a registration permission signal to the registration tool through the network to permit the registration tool to perform the registration process.

An electric steering lock capable of outputting a signal correctly indicating an operation state of a steering lock mechanism even when the operation voltage of a lock detector decreases. The electric steering lock includes a CPU, a signal hold circuit, and an OR circuit. When the steering lock mechanism unlocks a steering wheel, an unlock sensor provides an H level detection signal to the CPU and the signal hold circuit. In response to the detection signal, the CPU issues a state hold command to the signal hold circuit. In response to the state hold command, the signal hold circuit generates an H level hold signal in correspondence with the detection signal. The OR circuit provides an H level signal to an immobilizer ECU when at least one of the detection signal from the unlock sensor or the hold signal has an H level.

Electric steering lock

An electric cutoff circuit for preventing overheating of a load. The current shutoff circuit includes an FET connected to a motor circuit. A relay fault detection circuit is connected to the motor circuit to detect potential at the motor circuit. A CPU sends a control signal to a relay. The CPU determines whether a fault has occurred in the relay based on the control signal sent to the relay and the detection of the relay fault detection circuit. When determining that a fault has occurred in the relay, the CPU opens the FET to configure an open circuit with the motor circuit.

Current cutoff circuit and electric steering wheel lock

A steering wheel lock apparatus having high reliability. The steering wheel lock apparatus () includes a lock pin (), which engages a steering wheel (), a motor (), which moves the lock pin, and a control circuit (), which controls the motor. The control circuit includes a power supply line (), which provides locking current to the motor for locking the steering wheel. A breaker circuit () selectively breaks the power supply line when a user operates an ignition switch knob () to start the vehicle.

Electronic vehicle theft preventive device

A start control apparatus has a steering lock mechanism, which includes a lock pin and a lock control unit. The lock pin is selectively engaged and disengaged from the steering shaft. The lock control unit controls the lock pin. The start control apparatus further includes a portable communication device, a verification control unit, which communicates with the portable communication device, a power source control unit, which control power supply, an engine control unit, which controls the engine, a lock state detecting switch, which detects an engaged state and a disengaged state of the lock pin. The lock control unit and the power source control unit monitor detection signals from the lock state detecting switch. The engine is permitted to be started on condition that the control units acknowledge that the lock bar is in the disengaged state.

Start control apparatus

An electronic automobile anti-theft apparatus having high reliability includes a motor, which moves a lock pin to lock a steering shaft of an automobile. A solenoid maintains the lock pin in a state released from the steering shaft and operates to permit the lock pin to lock the steering shaft by receiving power. An ECU controls the operations of the motor and the solenoid. A mechanical switch stops supplying the solenoid with power to prevent unintentional locking by the lock pin when the automobile is being driven or when driving of the automobile is enabled.

Electronic automobile anti-theft apparatus

A steering shaft locking device capable of performing a locking operation in an optimum manner. The steering shaft locking device includes a motor to which voltage is applied to generate a drive force. A locking bar is moved by the drive force of an actuator so as to engage the steering shaft. A steering shaft lock ECU connected to the motor performs a first control to move the locking bar to a lock position, at which the locking bar engages the steering shaft, and a second control to move the locking bar to an unlock position, at which the locking bar is disengaged from the steering shaft. A voltage control means controls the voltage applied to the motor during the first control such that the voltage is less than or equal to the voltage applied to the motor during the second control.

Steering shaft locking device

A steering wheel locking apparatus having high reliability. A steering lock apparatus () includes a lock pin () engaged with a steering wheel (), a motor () for moving the lock pin, and an ECU () for controlling the motor. A switch () is arranged in a first power supply line () for supplying the motor with current. When supplying an electrical component with current, the switch breaks the first power supply line.
