A thermal transfer dye image-receiving sheet capable of forming full color dye images with a high reproducibility at a high speed, and having a high resistance to curling in a thermal printing operation, comprises a dye image-receiving layer comprising a dye-receiving resin material and formed on a front surface of a substrate sheet, which substrate sheet front surface is formed from a biaxially oriented thermoplastic resin film having a number of fine voids, the front surface of the thermoplastic resin film, on which the dye image-receiving layer is formed, having a Bekk smoothness of 1000 seconds or more and a glossiness of 50% or less.

Thermal transfer dye image-receiving sheet

A thermal transfer dye image-receiving sheet resistive to fuse-adhesion of ink ribbons and to dye-adhesion at a back surface thereof, comprising a dye-receiving layer formed on a front surface of a substrate sheet and comprising a dye-receiving resin material, for example, a polyester, and a back surface coating layer formed on a back surface of the substrate sheet and comprising a release agent comprising at least one member selected from silicone block copolymer resins, silicone oils, silicone varnishes, fluorine compounds, phosphate compounds or fatty acid ester compounds.

A thermal transfer image-receiving sheet for recording thermally transferred dye images having a uniform color density (darkness) and a high clarity at a high resolution, without curling, comprises an image-receiving resinous layer formed on a front surface of a substrate sheet and comprising a dye-receiving resinous material, for example, a polyester resin, in which the image-receiving resinous layer surface has a surface roughness wave form having a maximum wave height (R.sub.max) of 1.0 .mu.m or less at a wave length of 0.1 to 2 .mu.m.

Thermal transfer image-receiving sheet

A thermal transfer dye image-receiving sheet capable of receiving clear, uniform colored images without a formation of curls and wrinkles therein, comprising (A) a substrate sheet composed of (a) core sheet having a Young's modulus E.sub.3, (b) a front coated thermoplastic film layer having a thickness T.sub.1 and a Young's modulus E.sub.1, and (c) a back coated thermoplastic film layer having a thickness T.sub.2 and a Young's modulus E.sub.2, the T.sub.1, T.sub.2, E.sub.1, E.sub.2 and E.sub.3 satisfying the following relationships (1) and (2):

A thermal transfer image-receiving sheet capable of receiving clear, uniform colored images without a formation of curls and wrinkles therein, comprising (A) a substrate sheet comprising (a) a core sheet with a thickness of 10 to 300 .mu.m, and (b) at least one polyolefin resin coating layer formed on at least a front surface of the core sheet and having a porosity of 33% or more and a thickness of 20 .mu.m or more and (B) at least one image-receiving resinous layer formed on at least the front resinous coating layer and having a thickness of 10 .mu.m or less.

A dye image-receiving sheet for thermal transfer printing systems, comprising a substrtate sheet composed of a support paper sheet, a front coated layer comprising a thermoplastic resin, and optionally, a back coated layer comprising a thermoplastic resin; and a dye image-receiving layer comprising a resinous material capable of being dyed with a sublimating dye, and characterized in that the front coating layer has a Bekk smoothness of 100 seconds or more and the substrate sheet has a rigidity of 700 mgf or less.

A support sheet useful for a thermal transfer image receiving sheet having a high resistance to thermal curling and capable of recording clear and uniform images or pictures thereon, comprises a sheet substrate with a thickness of 20 to 300 .mu.m, and multilayer front and back surface coating plastic films each comprising a pigment and a polyolefin resin, each having at least one bi-axially oriented base layer, and bonded to the sheet substrate, and satisfies the following relationships:
