A head-mounted display includes a device main body, a mounting band that supports the device main body and is mounted on a user's head, a circuit board that is disposed in the upper portion of the device main body and has a mounting surface on which one or more electronic components are mounted, and a cooling device disposed facing the mounting surface in the upper portion of the device main body.

Provided is a display device in which generation of a ghost can be restrained. A polarizing plate is disposed adjacently to a display section. A &#xbc; wavelength plate is disposed adjacently to the polarizing plate. A polarizing plate is disposed adjacently to a lens. A &#xbc; wavelength plate is disposed adjacently to the polarizing plate. A beam splitter is disposed between the &#xbc; wavelength plate and the &#xbc; wavelength plate. The beam splitter is disposed at such a position that the air-equivalent optical path length of light that is reflected by the polarizing plate and is thereafter reflected by the beam splitter from emission of the light from the display section to transmission of the light through the lens and the air-equivalent optical path length of light that is reflected by the beam splitter and is thereafter reflected by the polarizing plate from emission of the light from the display section to transmission of the light through the lens are equal.

Display device

Methods and apparatus provide for: disposing a display unit in front of eyes of a user; disposing an optical system between the display unit and the eyes of the user; and disposing an imaging unit between the display unit and the optical system, the imaging unit imaging the display unit in which an image of the eyes of the user is reflected; and irradiating light onto the eyes of the user, where the imaging includes imaging the eyes of the user reflected in the display unit by reflecting the light irradiated by the light-irradiation unit by the eyes of the user.

A head-mounted display that can suppress positional misalignment of a display apparatus in the left and right directions, and can reduce the load on a user's nose is proposed. A nose pad assembly H has: a movable portion (M) having a frame (), and a nose pad () attached to the frame (); and a support mechanism (M) that is attached to an apparatus body (), and supports the frame (). The support mechanism (M) supports the frame () such that a motion of the nose pad () in the front and rear directions is allowed.

Disclosed herein is a head-mounted apparatus, including: an optical sensor having a contact face for contacting with the head of a user; a supporting unit disposed around the optical sensor and configured to contact with the head of the user; and a sensor supporting mechanism configured to support the optical sensor so as to permit a movement of the optical sensor in a contact direction that is a direction perpendicular to the contact face.

Head-mounted apparatus

A distance-measuring device includes first and second stereoscopic cameras each to be used to measure the distance to an object included in an imaging range. The first stereoscopic camera includes two imaging elements arranged side by side in a first direction, and the second stereoscopic camera includes two imaging elements arranged side by side in a second direction. The second direction is defined as a direction which intersects a plane containing the first direction and an imaging direction of the first stereoscopic camera.

There are provided a Fresnel lens and a method of manufacturing the Fresnel lens which can suppress a flare which is generated in an image visually recognized through the Fresnel lens so as to extend toward a center of a lens. A lens surface and a non-lens surface are formed in each of lens portions. The non-lens surface includes a rise surface and a coupling surface. The rise surface is a surface along an optical axis of a Fresnel lens. The coupling surface is a surface which is formed on a top portion of each of the lens portions and couples the lens surface of the lens portion and the rise surface of the lens portion to each other, and which has a width extending in a radial direction of the Fresnel lens. A light absorbing portion is provided in a position along the optical axis of the Fresnel lens which passes through the coupling surface.

Provided is a head-mounted display in which it is easy to photograph eyes of a user that wears the head-mounted display. The HMD that is worn by the user includes a display unit disposed in front of the eyes of the user, an optical system disposed between the display unit and eyes of the user, and an imaging unit disposed between the display unit and the optical system, the imaging unit imaging the display unit in which an image of the eyes of the user is reflected.

A speaker unit includes: a speaker that contains a magnet for vibrating a diaphragm to output sound; a speaker housing unit that houses the speaker so that the front of the diaphragm is exposed outside; an opening-and-closing unit that is attached to the speaker housing unit so that the opening-and-closing unit can both open, with respect to the speaker housing unit, to expose the front of the diaphragm outside and close to cover the front of the diaphragm; and a metallic component that is, when the opening-and-closing unit is closed with respect to the speaker housing unit, attracted to the magnet of the speaker to pull the opening-and-closing unit in a closing direction.

A recording and/or playback apparatus using a disc cartridge that accommodates a recording medium such as an optical disc includes a holder, a recording and/or playback section, and a moving mechanism. The holder holds a recording medium that is inserted in the apparatus. When mounted with the recording medium that is held by the holder, the recording and/or playback section performs recording or playback on the recording medium. The moving mechanism moves the holder between a mounting position where to mount the recording medium on the recording and/or playback section and an dismounting position where to separate the recording medium from the recording and/or playback section. The moving mechanism has an urging member for urging the holder toward the recording and/or playback section when the recording medium is mounted onto the recording and/or playback section, and for urging the holder in such a direction that the holder goes away from the recording and/or playback section when the recording medium is separated from the recording and/or playback section.

A recording apparatus of a recording medium is comprised of a lid, a lock mechanism, an operating mechanism and a transmitting mechanism. The lid is rotatably arranged at the main body of the apparatus so as to open or close an installing part for the recording medium. The lock mechanism locks the lid at a closed position against the main body of the apparatus. The operating mechanism is arranged at the main body of the apparatus. The transmitting mechanism is arranged between the operating mechanism and the lock mechanism. The transmitting mechanism has a resilient displacement member for use in transmitting an operation of the operating mechanism to the lock mechanism. The resilient displacement member is moved between a transmitting position where an operation of the operating mechanism is transmitted to the lock mechanism to release the locked state of the lid with the lock mechanism and a non-transmitting position where it is retracted from the operating mechanism and the lock mechanism.

A magnetic head apparatus has a reduced thickness by preventing a jumping action of a magnetic head that can occur in a head-up state. A leaf spring has a first end and a second end opposite to the first end, and the leaf spring supporting the magnetic head at the first end, the leaf spring having a surface facing the magnetic medium. A mount member holds the leaf spring, the leaf spring being mounted to the mount member at the second end. A supporting portion extends from the mount member, and engages the surface of the leaf spring at a position between the magnetic head and the mount member.
