A plasma display panel comprises a front substrate and a rear substrate, a plurality of row electrode pairs provided on the inner surface of the front substrate, a dielectric layer provided on the inner surface of the front substrate for coverring the row electrode pairs, a plurality of column electrodes provided on the inner surface of the rear substrate, a partition wall assembly provided between the front substrate and the rear substrate, said partition wall assembly including a plurality of longitudinal partition walls and a plurality of lateral partition walls, forming a plurality of discharge cells. In particular, the dielectric layer has a plurality of projection portions located corresponding to and protruding toward the lateral partition walls of the partition wall assembly, in a manner such that there would be no slots formed between the dielectric layer and the lateral partition walls.

Plasma display panel

A plasma display panel comprises a front substrate plate; a back substrate plate arranged opposite to the front substrate plate with an electric discharge space formed therebetween; a plurality of partition walls dividing the discharge space into a plurality of discharge cells; and a plurality of fluorescent layers each covering the bottom and side surfaces of each discharge cell. In particular, each of the partition walls has a T-shaped cross section.

A plasma display panel has a pair of substrates including a display side substrate and a back side substrate, a pair of opposed row electrodes disposed inside the display side substrate interposing a discharge gap, each of the row electrodes comprising a transparent conductive film and a metallic film formed on the transparent conductive film at a position opposite to the discharge gap, a dielectric layer covering the row electrodes. The dielectric layer includes a first dielectric layer formed on the inner surface of the display side substrate, a second dielectric layer formed on the first dielectric layer except the discharge gap and a third dielectric layer formed on the first and second dielectric layers.

In a plasma display panel, studs or second ribs are provided on the inner surface of a back side substrate. Each stud faces an edge portion of the associated one of projecting portions of the associated one of pairs of row electrodes far from a discharge gap therebetween and faces the associated one of body portions of the associated pair of row electrodes in the vicinity of the associated projecting portion. The studs are designed to be in contact with the dielectric layer.

A plasma display panel comprises: a front glass base-plate provided on the front side of the plasma display panel; a rear glass base-plate provided on the rear side of the plasma display panel; a plurality of row electrode pairs provided on an internal surface of the front glass base-plate; a dielectric layer covering the row electrode pairs; a plurality of column electrodes provided on an internal surface of the rear glass base-plate. An AC plasma display includes a plurality of parallel column electrodes (14); a plurality of parallel row electrodes (21) disposed from, and perpendicular to, the column electrodes (14); a dielectric layer (17) for forming a wall charge is made of a low dielectric constant glass having a low melting point includes sodium oxide and boron oxide and covers the column electrodes (14); and an electrode protective layer (16) made from an inorganic material, for example silicon dioxide, prevents diffusion of sodium from the dielectric layer (17) to the column electrode (14). The dielectric layer (17) is made of a glass having a low dielectric constant of 8 or less to reduce pixel capacitance thereby reducing the electrical power consumption of the display.

A plasma display panel includes a plurality of sustaining electrodes provided between substrates and arranged in pairs, a plurality of address electrodes disposed perpendicular to the sustaining electrodes thereby forming a matrix and defining a plurality of pixels, each pixel being defined by a pair of sustaining electrodes and a pair of address electrodes; wherein the sustaining electrodes have a projection at each pixel; and the area of the projection varies from the central portion of the panel to the peripheral portion of the panel.
