An acoustic image localization apparatus localizes an acoustic image of a plurality of tone color species having various timbres to a source point with respect to a listening point within a sound field. Desired ones of separate source points are specified, which are provisionally set throughout the sound field. Each of the tone color species is assigned to one or more of the specified source points such that each specified source point is assigned with a group of desired tone color species. Acoustic images of the respective groups are localized to corresponding ones of the specified source points. Further, one of separate listening points is designated, which is provisionally set relatively to the source points so that the acoustic images are localized with respect to the designated listening point.

Acoustic image localization apparatus for distributing tone color groups

A musical tone synthesizing apparatus simulating a wind instrument includes an excitation circuit simulating a reed operation of a mouth piece portion, a resonance circuit simulating a resonance tube and a musical tone control circuit. The excitation circuit produces an excitation signal based on an input signal and a reflected wave signal transmitted from the resonance circuit. The excitation signal is input to the resonance circuit. The resonance circuit includes a bi-directional transmission circuit and a junction unit which is inserted into the bi-directional transmission circuit. The junction unit caries out a scattering operation corresponding to a scattering operation of compression wave of air which is occurred in the vicinity of the tone hole of the resonance tube. The excitation signal propagates through the bi-directional transmission circuit in a forward direction as a progressive wave signal. Then, a signal which is occurred by a scattering operation of the junction unit and the like propagates through the bi-directional transmission circuit in a backward direction as foregoing reflected wave signal. The signal operation of the resonance circuit, i.e., the delay time required for circulating the excitation signal through the closed-loop including the excitation circuit at least is controlled by the musical tone control circuit in response to an open/close operation applied to a tone hole so that musical tones which are generated by the non-electronic wind instrument having a plurality of tone holes are to be synthesized.

Musical tone synthesizing apparatus

A variable delay circuit for delaying an input signal and being capable of changing length of this delay is provided and various modulation effects are imparted by this delay. When change in the delay length has been designated, a decay envelope is imparted to a delay output tone signal corresponding to the delay length before the change and then a rise envelope is imparted to a delay output signal corresponding to the delay length after the change. Generation of a click noise during the change in the delay length thereby is prevented. Alternatively, when the delay length is to be changed, a decay envelope is imparted to a delay output signal corresponding to the delay length before the change and, simultaneously, a rise envelope is imparted to a delay output tone signal corresponding to the delay length after the delay and the two signals are combined. Alternatively further, when the delay length is to be changed, the delay length is sequentially changed in plural steps from the delay length before the change to the delay length after the change.
