A method of automatically inserting terminals with wires into desired terminal accommodating cavities in a connector housing after putting neighboring wires aside, and a wire sweeping arm and a driving device for the sweeping arm. The method includes the steps of: grasping the terminal with wire by terminal supporting hands and wire supporting hands; moving the wire sweeping arm in the direction that the wire sweeping arm sweep wires which are already accommodated in neighboring terminal accommodating cavities, the wire sweeping arm being disposed between the terminal accommodating cavities and the terminal supporting hands so as to move back and forth; moving the wire supporting hands and the terminal supporting hands toward the connector housing to insert the terminal with wire into the terminal accommodating cavity.

Apparatus for inserting terminal with wire and driving a wire sweeping arm

A method of controlling a terminal press attaching device by providing a elevating crimper for crimping terminals onto exposed conductors of the cables, setting an anvil opposite to the crimper, and elevating the drive means including a servo motor. More specifically, the crimp height for press attached terminals is monitored, a detected height and the predetermined set value are compared to control said drive means such that the detected height is made equal to the set value. Thus, the crimp height of the terminal to be attached (or the crimper height) is automatically and easily adjusted.

Control method of terminal crimping device

The crimping machine includes a crimper opposed to an anvil for crimping a stripped wire end to a terminal; a vertical rotation shaft axially secured on a base frame; a lower rotating base disc axially engaged with a lower end of the rotation shaft; an upper rotating base disc and a shank each axially slidably engaged with an upper end of the rotation shaft by way of a spline; and a flange formed at an upper end of the shank and engaged with a hook-shaped portion formed at a lower end of the pressing ram. The lower and upper discs have respectively a plurality of fitting channels radially extending from the rotation shaft. Each channel of the upper disc is detachably mounted with the crimper, and each channel of the lower disc is detachably mounted with the anvil. An adjusting dial for adjusting crimp height of the crimper is respectively provided in an outer surface of the shank. In place of the adjusting dial, there may be provided an adjusting disc adjusting crimp height of the crimper and having a plurality of positioning bosses with different vertical thicknesses.

Multiple-terminal crimping machine

A pair of terminal grasping picks and a pair of wire clamping plates, which are provided in an insertion unit so that they can freely rise/fall and open/close, fall to grasp a first wire-equipped terminal clipped on a clip of a wire clamping rod; rise to separate the first wire-equipped terminal from the wire clip; advance toward the housing to insert the first wire-equipped terminal into the corresponding terminal container; and thereafter retreated and returned to an initial position, thereby successively inserting wire-equipped terminals. At any timing during the process in which the wire-equipped terminal is separated from the clip and thereafter the insertion unit is retreated and returned, either one of the wire clamping rod and the connector housing is moved in parallel to the other so that a second wire-equipped terminal or the clip is previously positioned oppositely to the a next terminal container of the housing.

Apparatus for inserting wire-equipped terminal in connector housing

A terminal crimping apparatus is equipped with a vertically reciprocating crimper for crimping a terminal to an exposed conductive portion of an electric wire and an anvil opposing to the crimper. The crimper is vertically reciprocated by an activation device, such as a servo-motor. The apparatus has a sensor to monitor a load applied to the activation device or to monitor the height of the crimper when the terminal is crimped. A driver control for the apparatus includes a decision section comparing the monitored load or the monitored crimper height with predetermined reference data to determine whether the terminal is correctly crimped.

Method of controlling a terminal crimping apparatus

A terminal crimping unit includes a unit case and a crimping machine assembly removable from the unit case. The crimping machine assembly includes a mounting block provided with a base plate, an anvil provided on anvil mounting stand on the base plate; a ram assembly arranged vertically movably above said anvil and provided with a crimper on its front surface; a terminal feed portion for intermittently feeding the side feed terminal chain, located beside the ram assembly; an anvil rotating means for reciprocatively rotating the anvil mounting stand between a terminal crimping position below said ram assembly and a terminal delivery position at the tip of said terminal feed portion; and a cut/separation means, located above the terminal delivery position, for separating an individual terminal from said side feed terminal chain intermittently fed.

Terminal crimping device

An apparatus for crimping a terminal includes a crimper vertically reciprocating to crimp electric terminals to conductors of a striped wire, and anvil opposing the crimper, and an operating mechanism for vertically reciprocating the crimper. The operating mechanism has a piston-crank apparatus to vertically reciprocate a ram attached to the crimper and a servo-motor connected to a circular plate in the piston-crank mechanism by way of a reduction gear. The operating mechanism also has a control device that stops the servo-motor for a given time period when the crimper is positioned at its lowest position to prevent spring-back of the crimper material.

Arm assembly for sweeping neighboring wires of already inserted terminal

A terminal barrel is crimped to a wire laid on an anvil. In the crimping operation, a servo-motor drives a driving axis, the forward and reverse rotation of which vertically reciprocates a crimper. The operation includes the steps of: preliminary recording reference speeds or accelerations of the crimper at vertical positions in the reciprocating movement, and the reference value of a current which is supplied to the servo-motor when the terminal is crimped; descending the crimper at the reference speeds corresponding to the crimper position while the crimper descends from its top position to its crimping start position; crimping the terminal by supplying the reference current to the servo-motor during a predetermined period while the crimper is crimping the terminal.

An automatic bundling machine comprises a pair of feed rollers respectively positioned at opposite sides of a band passage; a band-feeding actuator for rotating at least one of the feed rollers; a one-way clutch and a friction clutch mounted between the band-feeding rotary actuator and the feed rollers; a pair of hooks with a band receiving groove formed in an inner surface of the pair of hooks and communicating with the band passage; a flange portion formed on a nose of a rotor for twisting a band, band channels formed on the flange-shaped portion; and a pair of clamps, one end of which are axially supported by the flange-shaped portion and the other end of which are engaged with each of the hooks.

Method of inserting terminal with wire and apparatus therefor

An object of the present invention is to provide a terminal crimping machine which assures that undesirable bending of a cable caused due to the fact that a terminal firmly fitted into a crimper is raised up together with the crimper after the time of terminal crimping is reduced as far as possible. A terminal crimping machine includes a crimper 3, an anvil 4 located opposite to the crimper 1, and a stopper 13 composed of a terminal disconnecting piece 14 and an arm piece 15, and the arm piece 15 is turnably disposed on a guide frame 11 of the ram 2 to turn about a pin 12. A tension spring 20 is bridged between the arm piece 15 and a spring fixing piece 19. As the ram 2 is lowered, it comes in slidable contact with the arm piece 15 so as to allow the arm piece 15 assume an upright attitude. At this time, the terminal disconnecting piece 14 is located at the terminal disconnecting position higher than the anvil 4 by a predetermined distance. When the crimper 3 is raised up in excess of the terminal disconnecting position, the arm piece 14 is disengaged from the ram 2, causing the stopper 13 to be turned to the crimper 3 side by the resilient power of the tension spring 20. When the ram 2 reaches an upper dead point, an outer edge portion 16 of the stopper 13 is located inside of the lower end of the crimper 3.

Terminal crimping machine

A wire guide member is formed with a U-shaped curved guide surface along which a recessed wire guide groove is formed. A wire supplying device is disposed an appropriate distance away from one end of the wire guide groove, and a wire end stopper is disposed another appropriate distance away from the other end of the wire guide groove, respectively. Two wire push-in plates are interposed between the wire guide member and the wire supplying device and between the wire guide member and the wire end stopper, respectively so as to be movable up and down. Further, a wire holding member for clipping the bent wire is arranged at a position lower than the wire travel line determined by the wire supplying device and the wire guide groove, so as to be movable in a direction perpendicular to the wire feed direction. Therefore, the bent wire held by the wire holding member can be shifted to the succeeding process, without moving the wire guide member for bending the wire into U-shape, thus realizing a wire bending and holding apparatus simple in structure and small in size and dimension.

The present wire harness comprises a plurality of electric wires, constituting its trunk line portion and branch line portions, laid on a wiring board so as to form a desired pattern and a clamp chain, formed of a plurality of wire clamps arranged in parallel at predetermined pitches, attached to the edge portion at least at one side of the wiring board, in which the electric wires are locked to specific wire clamps of the clamp chain, and thereby, both end portions of the electric wires are arranged so as to be in parallel at predetermined pitches and projecting from the edge portion.
