A method is provided for suppressing, in a color reagent solution which is used to measure a component within a sample and which contains an oxidative color reagent dissolved therein, a background rise that occurs when the color reagent solution is stored. The method includes adjusting a hydrogen ion exponent (pH) of the color reagent solution so as to be strongly acidic. The hydrogen ion exponent is preferably adjusted to 2.9 or below or to 2.1 or below. The color reagent solution is preferably used to measure the degree of oxidative stress. The oxidative color reagent is preferably a phenylenediamine derivative.

The present invention provides a reagent for measuring a degree of oxidative stress that includes a compound represented by the following general formula (I) or a salt thereof, and a method of measuring a degree of oxidative stress using the reagent for measuring a degree of oxidative stress. In the general formula (I), R, R, Rand Reach independently represent a hydrogen atom, an ethyl group, an isopropyl group, a hydroxyalkyl group that has 1 to 4 carbon atoms, or a phenyl group, and at least one of R, R, Ror Rrepresents an isopropyl group, a hydroxyalkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, or a phenyl group.

A dry reagentfor performing a quantitative analysis of a specific component in a liquid sample S contains a nicotinamide coenzyme and a leveling agent for smoothing the dry reagent. Analytical instrument and analytical method

A new method of diagnosing postprandial hyperglycemia by indirectly measuring a blood glucose level is provided. Postprandial hyperglycemia is detected by measuring a glycation degree of lysine in hemoglobin, in which a side chain amino group of lysine is glycated (GHbLys %). Measurement of GHbLys % can be performed by cleaving hemoglobin by protease, treating a glycated part of a lysine residue in the obtained cleavage product of hemoglobin with fructosyl amino acid oxidase, and measuring a redox reaction between the glycated part and fructosyl amino acid oxidase.
