A multilayer molded article comprises a resin body and a skin material which covers a part of the surface of the resin body so that an edge part of the skin material present on the surface of the resin body is placed in a groove formed on the surface of the resin body. The article is produced by providing an unclosed mold comprising a lower mold having at least one pin for fixing the edge part of the skin material at a position where the edge part of the skin material is placed and an upper mold having a kick for forming the groove, placing the skin material on the lower mold and fixing the edge part of the skin material with the pin, supplying a mass of resin melt between the skin material and the lower mold, and closing the upper and lower molds to form the multilayer molded article.

Process for producing a multilayer molded article

A barrel-shaped coil spring roller is formed by closely winding spring wire rods having fine crepe-like concave-convex surfaces on the surface of the barrel-shaped coil spring roller. The fine crepe-like concave-convex surfaces serve as a lubricating oil reservoir and are formed by a shotpeening process. Lubricating oil is retained on the fine crepe-like concave-convex surfaces formed by the shot-peening process. Sliding noises between the spring wire rods adjacent to each other, which noises are generated by elastic deformation of the barrel-like coil spring roller when in engagement with the toothed surface of the sprocket, are reduced by the lubricating oil. The wear on both of the barrel-shaped coil spring roller and the sprocket is lessened and the power loss is reduced. The low noise chain is capable of retaining a lubricating oil on the surface of spring wire rods of a barrel-shaped coil spring roller for long periods of time, while still maintaining a noise reduction effect.

A metal wood club head for golf and a method for producing the metal wood golf club head relating to the present invention can transmit, to his hands through the shaft, the feeling of where on the club face the user hit the ball similar to persimmon heads so that the user can make progress in playing golf, cause little trouble to his elbows because of the decreased vibration at the impact of a shot, have sperior durability and impact resiliency, and are readily suitable for mass-production on the assembly line. The club head comprises a metal outer shell having a hollow inside portion and foamed metal arranged into the hollow inside portion which are united integrally. A main member of the club head may be a foamed metal. Then it is favorable that at least the face plate of the main member is covered with metal. The surface of the main member may be covered with a divided shell member.

A pressure molding apparatus for molten resin in which an oil-pressurized cylinder internally holding an end of gate pin can freely move in compatibility with thermal elongation or contraction of a manifold pipe. In addition, a limit switch to be activated by the descending movement of this cylinder in correspondence with the descending movement of the gate pin is interlinked to a molten-resin supply source. By provision of these mechanisms, molten resin can smoothly be delivered to the interior of a molding unit without obstruction. Since substantial space is provided around this cylinder, pipes can easily be installed. Furthermore the inner later surface of the gate aperture on the side of the gate pin is provided with an obtuse angle wider than the tip angle of the gate pin, and a tapered hole having an adequate length and tapered diameter expanding itself from the gate aperture to the inner surface of the molding unit is provided. By provision of the above structure, the gate aperture is prevented from being choked by residual resin and a concave indentation cannot be generated in the molded resin product at the portion corresponding to the gate aperture.

Pressure molding apparatus for molten resin

A multilayer molded article comprising a resin body and at least one sheet of a skin material an edge part of which is present in a surface area of the resin body is efficiently produced by clamping an edge part of a skin material or mated edge parts of adjacent skin materials during molding.

This invention is directed to a pressure molding apparatus for molten resin in which an oil-pressurized cylinder internally holding an end of gate pin can freely move in compatibility with thermal elongation or contraction of a manifold pipe. In addition, a limit switch to be activated by the descending movement of this cylinder in correspondence with the descending movement of the gate pin is interlinked to a molten-resin supply source. By provision of these mechanisms, molten resin can smoothly be delivered to the interior of a molding unit without obstruction. By provision of the above structure, the gate aperture is prevented from being choked by residual resin and a concave indentation cannot be generated in the molded resin product at the portion corresponding to the gate aperture.

A novel and improved rotary shaft coupling including a ball-type speed reducer. A driving disc is coupled to a driven disc through a plurality of balls loosely held in a circular array of holes. Each ball registers with opposing faces of elliptic and hypocycloidal grooves of the driven and driving disc, respectively. When the driving disc is rotated, the balls transmit a turning force through the grooves to the driven disc. Speed reduction is determined by the number of waves in the hypocycloidal groove exceeding, by an even number, the number of balls.

Ball-type speed reducer

A rocker-pin type continuously variable transmission chain having a plurality of link plates connected endlessly by rocker pins which project into pin insertion holes formed in the link plates. Each pin insertion hole defines thereon a side load transmitting surface which engages an opposed side load transmitting surface on the rocker pin. These load transmitting surfaces on the rocker pin and hole have opposed center surface portions which are maintained free of contact with one another. A pair of concave surface portions are smoothly joined directly to opposite ends of the center surface portion of the hole, and project outwardly in opposite directions therefrom. A similar pair of convex surface portions are formed on the rocker pin, and are joined to opposite ends of the center surface portion thereof and project outwardly therefrom. The concave and convex surface portions are defined generally as partial elliptic surfaces which are generated about and symmetrically disposed with respect to a major axis of an ellipse, which major axis extend centrally of the bore in the lengthwise or longitudinal direction of the link plate. The elliptically shaped concave and convex surfaces directly engagingly contact one another, and create a wedge-like configuration which prevents rotation of the rocker pin relative to the bore, and provides for uniform load transmission over the extensive surface areas defined by the contacting convex and concave surface portions.

Rocker-pin type friction gearing chain

A method of manufacturing a laminated body consisting of a synthetic resin member provided with a layer member thereon, in which the member is bent to cover the edges of the resin member. The method includes the compression, resulting from a male mold and a female mold approaching each other, of the layer member and molten resin. The female mold has flanges mounted on its edges to permit the layer member to cover the edges of the resin during compression. Molten resin materials are supplied between the male and female molds prior to subsequent to the compression.

Method of manufacturing a laminated body

A pressure molding apparatus for supplying molten resin to a mold includes a gate unit having an aperture therein for passage of molten resin into a mold cavity of the mold, a gate pipe connected for communication with the gate unit, and a gate pin which is axially movable within the gate pipe. The gate pin has a gate pin end at one end and a tip at another end thereof, the tip being engageable with the aperture for controlling flow of molten resin through the gate unit. The apparatus also includes a manifold pipe for supplying molten resin to the gate pipe, a connection arrangement for connecting the gate pipe to the manifold pipe. The connection arrangement includes a receiving portion for receiving molten resin from the manifold pipe, the gate pin passing completely through the receiving portion and the gate pin end extending beyond the connection arrangement. A limit switch arrangement is provided for detecting movement of the gate pin end to a predetermined position, the limit switch arrangement producing a signal indicative of whether the gate pin end is at the predetermined position. A molten-resin supply pipeline is also provided which includes a base pipe for supplying the molten resin to the interior of the manifold pipe, and the base pipe is connected to the manifold pipe by a pillar pipe.

A rocker-joint silent chain in which the pin insertion holes for each link have rocker-joint connecting pin means extending therethrough. Each pin insertion hole has two opposed, spaced-apart surfaces each having the cross-section form of arcs of uniform radius. The centers of curvature of said two surfaces are offset from one another so that they define an arcuate, but noncircular, cavity which is effective to wedge said connecting pin in load-transmitting relationship to its associated link when the chain is driven.

The invention provides a pressure molding apparatus for molten resin capable of efficiently maintaining the temperature of molten resin in the gate pipe, which is provided with molten-resin feeding gate pipes beneath the gate aperture of a molding unit composed of upper and lower molds in order that molten resin can be delivered to the interior of the molding unit before being pressed and molded, where the heater unit for maintaining the temperature of molten resin is disposed in the external periphery of the gate pipes in the state of being divided into two units in the vertical direction. Opposite portions of the gate pipe vertically being divided into two units are connected to each other so that length can optionally be adjusted to the extended or contracted direction, wherein the heater unit is discretely provided in the periphery of the gate pipes which are separately disposed.

A process for the formation of a laminated body consisting of an upper layer member which covers a hardened synthetic resin is disclosed. The process includes the compression, resulting from a female mold and a male mold approaching each other, of the layer member and molten resins. The final engagement of the molds permits the cutting of the layer member so as to form or shape the ultimate laminated body.
