In a combustor of a gas turbine which has a pilot nozzle being installed to the center of the axis of a combustor basket and a plurality of main nozzles being installed to the vicinity of the pilot nozzle and provided with a premixing tool on the outer circumference thereof, wherein, fuel being injected as air-fuel pre-mixture from the main nozzle into the interior of a transition piece forming a combustion chamber downstream of the combustor basket is ignited by diffusion flame being generated by the pilot nozzle in the transition piece so as to generate a premixed flame in the transition piece, wherein combustion is performed by a part of the plurality of main nozzles from start-up until a predetermined load rate and then performed by adding the remaining portion of the plurality of main nozzles when the predetermined load rate is exceeded.

A sleevehaving the length of the side surface thereof made longer at a position away from the compressor outletis connected to the upstream-side end of an external cylinder. By this sleeve, compressed air flowing along the inside wall surface of a casingflows, making a turn, in a space between the sleeveand the inside wall surface of the casing, thereby providing the compressed air flow being introduced from the sleeveto the external cylinderwith uniformity.

Combustor

By installing a cylinderhaving a bell-mouth construction to the downstream side of a combustor basketand by providing different level to the downstream-side end of the cylinder, notchesare constructed. The notchesform fixed vortices in the compressed air, and the vortices enable the compressed air to determine the flow direction thereof so as to flow toward the tips of the main nozzles

By installing a cylinderhaving a bell-mouth construction to the downstream side of a combustor basket, compressed air flowing between the combustor basketand an external cylinderis throttled. In addition, by having a cross section of the downstream-side end surface of the cylindershaped in a semicircle and providing a back surface wallhaving a curvature being equivalent to a curvature of the semicircular curved surface, compressed air flow making 180 degrees turn can be made uniform and free from disturbance.

A punched metal plateis constructed so as to be in a ring shape covering a space between the outside wall of the combustor basketand the inside wall of the external cylinderand at the same time is constructed to be a perforated plate having a plurality of holes. In addition, ribsare provided in a radial pattern against the axis of a combustor in a manner that both ends of a ribare in contact with the outside wall of the combustor basketand the inside wall of the external cylinder. Additionally, ribsare provided in a plural number, and the plurality of ribsare arranged so as to be equally spaced in the circumferential direction of a combustor and connected to the external cylinder, thereby supporting the combustor basket
