A method of scanning an information recording medium and a scanning apparatus for an information recording medium that uses the method scan for defects in respective resin layers of an information recording medium that has a plurality of resin layers and a plurality of information layers, which are separated by the respective resin layers, laminated on at least one surface of a substrate. The method includes: an image capture step of emitting scanning light toward the one surface at a predetermined incident angle from a fixed position on the one surface side, rotating the information recording medium in a fixed direction, and simultaneously receiving reflected light for the scanning light at a fixed position on an optical path of the reflected light to capture images at predetermined time intervals; a counting step of counting a number of images of a same defect that have been captured in the image capture step; and a specifying step of specifying that an (N&#x2212;1)-th resin layer counting from the substrate side is a resin layer in which the defect is present when the counted number of images is N, where N is a natural number of two or higher.

Method of scanning and scanning apparatus

A furnace wall comprises: a furnace wall bottom part composed of furnace wall tubes having upward-spiraled fluid passages; a nose part which has nose wall tubes disposed in a middle part of a furnace rear wall adjoining the furnace wall bottom part; and a screen part having screen tubes, wherein the terminal parts of the furnace wall tubes are located lower than the nose part. Consequently, the drain generated in the nose wall tubes while the operation of the boiler is suspended can naturally fall inside the furnace wall tubes located lower than the nose part, and in a case where the header is connected with the terminal parts of the furnace wall tubes, the drain generated in the nose wall tubes can naturally fall inside the header. In addition, the furnace wall tubes which extend upright from the terminal parts of the furnace wall tubes can be provided to connect parts of the furnace wall tubes directly with the header, to connect the header with the nose wall tubes via vertical tubes and; and to connect other parts of the furnace wall tubes directly with the screen tubes, thereby integrating the vertical furnace wall tubes, the vertical tubes, and the screen tubes by being welded via membrane bars. This results in the furnace wall structure not requiring reinforcing supports for supporting the weight of the furnace wall bottom part.

Furnace wall structure

The invention consists in a capacitative electromagnetic flow meter in which excitation is performed at a frequency above the commercially available frequency and having a characteristic correction filter that corrects the gain frequency characteristic of the exciting current such that the exciting flux waveform has a flat section. In the detection unit, the value of the electrostatic capacitance between the face electrodes A, B and guard electrodes A, B is made smaller than the value of the electrostatic capacitance between the detecting face electrodes A, B and the fluid to be measured. The exciting coils are fixed to a cylindrical yoke, being electrostatically screened by coil fixing plates. Fixing by an earth ring is performed with this cylindrical yoke and the two ends of the measurement tube being symmetrical with respect to the tube axis and electrode axes. In addition, fixing is effected by filling the entire interior of the detection unit with epoxy resin.

Capacitative electromagnetic flow meter

A magnetic flow meter according to this invention is composed of a sensor for sensing a flow rate of a fluid and a converter connected to the sensor via a signal cable. The sensor essentially consists of a measuring tube through which the fluid flows, a pair of opposed electrodes installed in the measuring tube so as to face each other, an exciting coil for generating a magnetic field and applying it to the measuring tube in a direction perpendicular to the centerline of the measuring tube, and a current signal transmitting circuit for converting a differential voltage across the pair of electrodes into a corresponding current signal. The converter is made up of a signal cable one end of which is connected to the current signal transmitting circuit and which transmits the current signal from the current signal transmitting circuit, and a converter to which the other end of the signal cable is connected and which converts the current signal transmitted over the signal cable into a flow signal representing the flow rate through the measuring tube.
