A biometric authentication device has a structure member which is wearable to a user, and a biological information acquisition unit that acquires biological information of the user, and a biometric authentication unit that performs authentication of the user. The biological information acquisition unit is provided in a position where a finger of the user in contact when the structure member is worn/removed to/from the user, acquires first biological information with the finger of the user in contact with the biological information acquisition unit and second biological information which is at least one of a finger direction and action data, the finger direction is a direction of the finger in contact with the biological information acquisition unit and the action data is a data corresponding to spatial movement of the biometric authentication device when the structure member is worn/removed to/from the user. The biometric authentication unit performs the authentication based on the first and second biological information.

In an image communication system of the present invention, the transmission and reception of images are performed between a mobile phone, which combines a base image (character) with an accessory image and displays the composite image, and a server device via a communication network. When an image of a subject is captured by an imaging section, the mobile phone recognizes the subject in the captured image as an image for distinguishing a character. Subsequently, the server device generates an accessory image based on the recognized distinguishing image. Then, the mobile phone combines the generated accessory image with the base image (character), and displays the composite image.

A server apparatus and a server control method which transmits display data to a client apparatus and which displays the display data on a display screen of the client apparatus, wherein there are provided a plurality of accelerators, each of the plurality of accelerators being equipped with a difference detection circuit which compares the display data for a previous screen transmitted to the client apparatus with the display data for a current screen to be transmitted to the client apparatus to detect a difference therebetween. Then, the size of a drawing area to be allocated to each of the plurality of accelerators is calculated for each of the accelerators in response to a request from the client apparatus, and when a display request is made from a new client apparatus, the accelerator having a smaller drawing area among the calculated drawing areas is allocated to the new client apparatus.

In a computer system in which a plurality of server units and a plurality of terminal units are connected via a network and application software is consolidated on the server units, each of the server units stores a specific file in which information on the connection with each of the plurality of server units, information on a desktop image corresponding to each of the plurality of server units, information on the specification of an application functioning on the server unit, and information on an image of its initial screen have been written, transmits the specific file to a connecting terminal unit as a result of the connection with the terminal unit, and runs the application when receiving from the terminal unit a run command for the application complying with information on the specification of the application functioning on the present server unit.
