An air conditioning apparatus has a cool-side door device and a heating-side door device between an evaporator and a heater core. The cool-side door device is configured to open and close a cool air passage through which a cool air generated by the evaporator flows. The heating-side door device is configured to open and close a heating air passage through which the cool air flows to be heated by the heater core. At least one of the cool-side door device and the heating-side door device is constructed of a plurality of doors. The plurality of doors is configured to begin to open successively when being opened from a fully closed condition.

Air conditioning apparatus for vehicle

A heat exchanger has tubes, an inlet tank and an outlet tank. The inlet tank and the outlet tank are coupled to ends of the tubes. The inlet tank and the outlet tank have an inlet port and an outlet port, respectively, on ends thereof. The heat exchanger further has a cover member disposed in at least one of the inlet tank and the outlet tank. The cover member partly covers openings of the ends of predetermined tubes of the tubes, the predetermined tubes being closer to at least one of the inlet port and the outlet port.

Heat exchanger

An air conditioner has an air conditioning unit for conditioning air to be introduced into a passenger compartment. The air conditioning unit has an air passage, an air conditioning case defining at least a part of the air passage and a noise absorbing member having a multi-layer structure. The noise absorbing member defines at least a part of the air passage. The noise absorbing member has an unbreathable middle layer, a first noise absorbing layer on an inner side of the middle layer and a second noise absorbing layer on an outer side of the middle layer. The second noise absorbing layer has a hardness greater than that of the first noise absorbing layer to maintain the shape of the noise absorbing member. Also, an air conditioner duct is formed of the multi-layer structure.

An air conditioner includes an air conditioning case for defining an air passage through which air flows into a vehicle compartment, a functional member located in the air conditioning case for performing air conditioning of the vehicle compartment, an outside wall member arranged outside a side wall of the air conditioning case to form a clearance with the side wall, and a coupling part through which the outside wall member is integrated with the side wall. In this air conditioner, the outside wall member is located across approximately a projected line of a central line of the functional member extending in a longitudinal direction of the functional member, projected onto the side wall. Therefore, a vibration of the air conditioning case can be reduced, and a noise generation can be effectively restricted.

Air conditioner for vehicle

According to the present invention, in an air conditioning apparatus setting a double laminar mode in which inside air and outside air are blown while being partitioned, when the maximum heating state (including the high heating capacity close to the maximum heating operation) is set, a warm air bypass door for introducing warm air directly into a foot opening portion, without being mixed into cool air, functions as a movable partition member for partitioning an air passage at a downstream side of a heating heat exchanger, into an inside air passage and an outside air passage. In this way, it is possible to downsize the air conditioning unit.

An electric power unit is composed of a secondary battery, a cooling fan, a fan motor and a case for the secondary battery, the cooling fan and the fan motor. The case has a partition for isolating the fan motor from the secondary battery and cooling fan. A magnetic joint is disposed between the motor and the cooling fan.

An electric motor-driven compressor is positioned closer to the center of gravity of an engine than a compression mechanism, and is mounted in such a manner that an axial direction of an electric motor is parallel to a crank shaft of the engine. Therefore, a vibration force produced by the engine and applied to the electric motor is reduced.

A condenser has an outlet side region close to an outlet for discharging refrigerant from the condenser. The outlet side region does not face auxiliary radiator, which is disposed on a cooling air upstream side of the condenser. Accordingly, low temperature cooling air that does not pass through the auxiliary radiator can flow into the outlet side region of the condenser in which the refrigerant is lowered most. As a result, a difference in temperature between the refrigerant and the cooling air at the outlet side region becomes large. This prevents deterioration of cooling capacity of the condenser.

In an air conditioning apparatus for a vehicle, a double layer flow mode is set when the maximum heating state is set during an air outlet mode where both a foot opening portion and a defroster opening portion are opened. During the double layer flow mode, an air passage of an air conditioning case is partitioned into a first air passage through which inside air flows and a second air passage through which outside air flows, in such a manner that the first air passage communicates with the foot opening portion and the second air passage communicates with the defroster opening portion. When the double layer flow mode is set, the maximum rotation speed of a blower for blowing air is reduced by a predetermined level as compared with an entire outside air mode or an entire inside air mode. Thus, heating capacity for a passenger compartment of the vehicle can be improved.

Air conditioning apparatus for vehicle with double layer flow mode

An air-conditioning device includes a control system for saving fuel consumed to drive the device and for enhancing comfortability of passengers at the same time. The air-conditioning device is operated under a cooling mode emphasizing comfortability or under an economy mode emphasizing fuel economy. Under the cooling mode, the device is controlled in a lower temperature range. Under the economy mode, the device is controlled in an intermediate temperature range to secure comfortability when cooling-down is required, and in a higher temperature range to save fuel after the cooling-down has been completed. Information on vehicle speed may be used in the control under the economy mode. The device may be turned off or controlled in a higher temperature range to save fuel, especially when the vehicle comes to a halt. Frost on a windshield which develops when the vehicle is at a halt for a certain period without operating air-conditioning device is avoided by operating the device at a lower temperature, only when such condition exists. Such condition may be detected by a humidity sensor installed in the passenger compartment.

Air-conditioning device for hybrid vehicle

To provide a vehicular air conditioning system for activating an electric heater with the output coming from an inverter by actuating a relay at a reasonable cost, a relay and an electric heater acting as electric heat source are connected in series between an output line of three output lines of an inverter and the negative side of a vehicular power supply. The electric heater employs a nichrome wire as its heating element and is used for warming the inside of a vehicle compartment. Moreover, the relay is turned ON/OFF after the output voltage of the inverter is set to zero. As a result, the durability of the relay can be improved, and this relay can be implemented by an existing one without newly manufacturing any dedicated relay so that the cost can be lowered.

Vehicular air conditioning system

A motor vehicle air conditioner that is operative to cause the quantity of conditioned air to change smoothly when an air conditioner bypass passage is opened/closed. When a user switches a typical automotive air conditioner between a bi-level flow mode and a full outer-air mode, a warm-air bypass door does not stop at an intermediate position, thus causing both air quantity of conditioned air and blown-air temperature of conditioned air to change greatly. In the air conditioner of the present invention, the air conditioner warm-air bypass door stops once at an intermediate position, thus enabling the air quantity of the conditioned air and the temperature change in the blown-air to change gradually.

Automotive air conditioner with warm air bypass passage to boost heating

An air conditioning apparatus for a vehicle includes an air conditioning case for forming an air passage through which air is blown into a passenger compartment. In the air conditioning apparatus, during a cooling mode for cooling a passenger compartment, an inside/outside air introduction mode is switched from an inside/outside air-mixing mode where both inside air and outside air are introduced into the air conditioning case to an entire outside air mode where only outside air is introduced into the air conditioning case, when an engine of the vehicle is stopped and the cooling load is smaller than a predetermined cooling load. Therefore, air-suction noise from an inside air introduction port is not caused, and the air-suction noise is not noted by a passenger in the passenger compartment even when the engine is stopped. Thus, noise of the air conditioning apparatus in the passenger compartment can be reduced.
