A tightening device and a tightening method are able to check that a fastening member has been fastened to a desired set torque or greater after being tightened, without loosening the fastening member. The tightening device executes a first tightening process of adjusting the output of a motor after measured torque that is measured by a torque detector has reached a preset first control start torque, such that the measured torque reaches a preset first set torque in a phased manner through repeated increases and decreases in torque, and blocking power supply to the motor when the measured torque reaches the first set torque, and then executes a second tightening process of driving the motor at an initial output that is less than in the first tightening process, adjusting the output of the motor after the measured torque that is measured by the torque detector has reached a preset second control start torque, such that the measured torque reaches a preset second set torque in a phased manner through repeated increases and decreases in torque, and blocking power supply to the motor when the measured torque reaches the second set torque.

Tightening device and tightening method

A tightening device is able to check that a fastening member has been fastened to a desired set torque or greater after being tightened, without loosening the fastening member. There is provided a wireless data transmitting and receiving system that wirelessly transmits a signal regarding a torque acting on a rotary shaft and/or a rotation angle of the rotary shaft from a data transmitting unit disposed in the rotary shaft to a data receiving unit. The wireless data transmitting and receiving system includes: a data transmitting unit () provided on the rotary shaft () of a tightening machine () to detect the torque and the rotation angle, the data transmitting unit () including a torque sensor () disposed so as to be capable of sensing a toque acting on the rotary shaft (), a rotation angle sensor () disposed so as to be capable of a rotation angle of the rotary shaft (), and transmitting means () that is electrically connected to the foregoing sensors (), and wirelessly transmits signals regarding the torque detected in the torque sensor () and the rotation angle detected in the rotation angle sensor (); and a data receiving unit () including receiving means () that receives the transmitted signals regarding the torque and the rotation angle, and display means () that displays the signals regarding the torque and the rotation angle received by the receiving means ().

Wireless data transmitting and receiving system

An antenna switching method of a wireless communication system capable of efficiently transmitting various signals from a plurality of transmitting antennas to a receiving unit is provided. The method includes a received signal intensity measuring step of operating an antenna switch () and obtaining received signal intensities of all the transmitting antennas (), a step of comparing the obtained received signal intensities of all the transmitting antennas and determining a transmitting antenna wherein the received signal intensity is the highest, a step of operating the antenna switch so that the transmitting antenna wherein the received signal intensity is the highest is connected to a transmitting circuitand fixing the transmitting antenna, and a step of transmitting signals thereafter from the transmitting circuit via the fixed transmitting antenna.

A tightening torque measuring unit capable of reducing errors with respect to either a clockwise or counterclockwise direction as soon as possible is provided. A tightening torque measuring unit, installed in a tightening device, includes a torque sensorthat detects a tightening torque and an amplifier that amplifies an output from the torque sensor. The amplifierorapplies a different gain to the output from the torque sensor depending on whether the tightening direction of the tightening apparatus is clockwise or counterclockwise.

An abrupt fall in a current value immediately after an abrupt rise at the time when an starting switch is turned ON is detected, when the current value rises due to starting of nut fastening and then the current value abruptly falls, it is determined that an inward flange of a washer is sheared, and when the current value reaches a value corresponding to a primary fastening torque, the motor is stopped.

A controller compares a minimum value of power source voltage which decreases in association with starting current generated upon start of a motor with a threshold value in a storing unit. When the minimum value is less than the threshold value, the controller notifies of shortage of the power source terminal voltage, and stops the motor. The controller also compares a value obtained by integrating the power source voltage which decreases in association with starting current generated upon start of the motor for only predetermined time with the threshold value in the storing unit, when the integral value is less than the threshold value, notifies of shortage of the power source terminal voltage, and stops the motor.

A bolt or nut tightening device comprising a tightening socket () and a reaction force receiving member (), the tightening socket () being rotatingly drivable upon a speed reduction by a motor () and a reduction mechanism () which are incorporated in the device, the motor () being coupled to a controller (), the controller () being operable to deenergize the motor () in response to a tightening completion signal of detecting means () for detecting the completion of tightening of a bolt or nut and to reversely rotate the motor () only for a moment upon lapse of a predetermined period of time taken for inertial rotation of the motor () to reduce to an extent neglectable for the reverse rotation of the motor () after the deenergization, whereby the propping action of the reaction force receiving member () is nullified.
