Disclosed is a toner including toner particles each including a core portion that contains a binder resin, and a surface layer containing an organosilicon polymer, in which each of the toner particles contains a polyvalent metal element having a resistivity of 2.5&#xd7;10&#x3a9;&#xb7;m or more and 10.0&#xd7;10&#x3a9;&#xb7;m or less at 20&#xb0; C., and when the toner particles are subjected to X-ray fluorescence analysis, a net intensity originating from the polyvalent metal element is 0.10 kcps or more and 30.00 kcps or less.

Toner for electrophotographic processes and electrostatic printing processes

A toner includes a toner particle including a surface layer containing an organosilicon polymer. The toner particle contains a styrene acrylic resin and a block polymer that has i) a polyester segment C and a vinyl polymer segment A, the mass ratio C/A of the polyester segment C to the vinyl polymer segment A being 40/60 to 80/20, and ii) a melting point Tm of 55&#xb0; C. to 90&#xb0; C. The organosilicon polymer has a partial structure represented by Rf&#x2014;SiO.

Toner and method for producing the same

Provided is a toner, including toner particle having surface layer, in which: the surface layer includes organosilicon polymer which has a partial structure represented by formula (1); inSi-NMR measurement of tetrahydrofuran-insoluble matter of toner particle, a ratio of a peak area for the partial structure represented by formula (1) to a total peak area for the organosilicon polymer is 5.0% or more; in X-ray photoelectron spectroscopic analysis of a surface of toner particle, a ratio of a density of a silicon atom dSi in the surface of toner particle is 1.0 to 28.6 atom %; and in a roughness curve of toner particle measured by using a scanning probe microscope: an arithmetic average roughness Ra is 10 to 300 nm; &#x3c3;Ra/Ra is 0.60 or less; an average length RSm of a roughness curve element is 20 to 500 nm; and &#x3c3;RSm/RSm is 0.60 or less.

Provided is a toner that is improved in transferability as compared to the related art and that keeps its effects through repeated use. In particular, provided is a toner suppressed in dependency on transfer current control. The toner includes a toner particle including a surface layer containing an organosilicon polymer and a resin having an ionic functional group, the organosilicon polymer having a partial structure represented by the following formula (1), the toner particle containing 5.0% or more of the partial structure represented by the formula (1) per 1.000 silicon atom contained in the organosilicon polymer, the resin having an ionic functional group having a pKa of 6.0 or more and 9.0 or less:R&#x2014;SiO&#x2003;&#x2003;(1)in the formula (1), Rrepresents an alkyl group having 1 or more and 6 or less carbon atoms, or a phenyl group.

A method is provided for producing toner particles containing an organosilicon polymer, produced by mixing an organosilicon compound and an aqueous medium containing base particles, and polymerizing the organosilicon compound. The organosilicon compound has a particular structure represented by formula (1) or (2). The organosilicon polymer is produced by polymerization at 80.0&#xb0; C. or more and 105.0&#xb0; C. or less.
