A running control structure for a lawn tractor switchable between a two-wheel drive mode and a four-wheel drive mode. The control structure includes a first driving device for driving a first pair of wheels, a second driving device for driving a second pair of wheels, and a clutch mechanism for switching the second driving device between a driving state and a non-driving state. The clutch mechanism has a controller for operating a clutch, and a spring for biasing the controller to a position corresponding to the non-driving state of the second driving device.

Lawn mower

A lawn mower comprising a blade housing supported above the ground by wheels, and a blower case removably connected to one lateral side of the blade housing for blowing grass clippings toward a grass catcher disposed rearwardly of a vehicle body. The blade housing carries wheel support frames secured thereto and extending in a fore and aft direction of the vehicle body. A forward coupling and a rear coupling are secured to one of the wheel support frames for connecting the blower case to the blade housing.

A four wheel steering tractor comprising a grass cutting system vertically movably mounted in a lower space of the tractor between front and rear wheels. The grass cutting system carries gauge wheels disposed at opposite lateral sides in rear regions thereof. An interlocking structure between a steering wheel and the front and rear wheels includes a front drag link extending from a pitman arm toward the left (or right) front wheel, and a rear drag link extending from the pitman arm toward the right (or left) rear wheel. This interlocking structure places the center of tractor turning approximately on a straight line extending through the gauge wheels and adjacent one of the gauge wheels.

A power vehicle is equipped with a mower which has cutters, a clipping passage for transporting grass clippings therethrough to one side of the mower, and an impeller accommodated in a housing and mounted on a lateral shaft. The housing has an outer side plate supporting the shaft and positioned closer to the center of the vehicle at its rear end than at its front end and is thereby diminished in the amount of projection. The impeller is driven by a shaft transmission coupled to a belt transmission for driving the cutters and by a belting transmission. The belting transmission includes a pulley coupled to the shaft transmission, a pulley attached to the outer end of the lateral shaft, and a belt reeved around the pulleys and drivingly movable in parallel to the outer side plate of the housing outside thereof.

Terrain traversing apparatus having means for transferring grass

A connecting link structure for connecting a grass cutting unit to a position between front and rear wheels of a riding type lawn mower. The link structure comprises parallel front links and parallel rear links each pivotally connected at one end thereof to a vehicle body and at the other end to the grass cutting unit. A curved bracing auxiliary link extends from the pivotal connection between the vehicle body and one of the rear links, along this rear link, and then perpendicular to the other rear link to be secured to the other rear link at a point offset from the pivotal connection between the other rear link and the grass cutting unit.

Connecting link structure for a lawn mower

A position control valve provided for controlling a first hydraulic unit is also operable to control a second hydraulic unit. The apparatus comprises the first hydraulic unit for raising and lowering a primary working implement, the second hydraulic unit for raising and lowering a secondary working implement, the control valve for controlling the first hydraulic unit, and a feedback mechanism for returning the control valve to its neutral position for every position of a control lever in operative relation to the upward or downward movement of the primary working implement. A guide plate for the control lever for operating the control valve provides a second operation range for the secondary working implement having a neutral position corresponding to a maximum lift position for the primary working implement. Elastic regulating means is mounted on the guide plate for the second operation range to set the control lever in position. The control lever is automatically and accurately returnable to the neutral position when operated against the elastic means and thereafter released from the hand.
