A welded joint comprising an aluminum-based base material comprising an aluminum alloy or pure aluminum and a copper-based base material comprising a copper alloy or pure copper joined by a weld metal portion is provided. The weld metal portion contains copper in ranges of less than 75% by mass and silicon in ranges of less than 13% by mass and has a higher content of copper and silicon than the aluminum-based base material.

Welded joint

A vehicle control system includes a boost device, a braking unit, a cell motor, and a start operating unit. The boost device boosts a braking force applied by a foot brake to a vehicle with an output voltage from a battery. The braking unit, which is different than the foot brake, brakes the vehicle appropriately and keeps the braking force even in a case that the output voltage is not supplied from the battery, or which braking unit does not require the output voltage from the battery. The cell motor is driven by an output voltage from the battery and starts the engine. The start operation unit starts the cell motor, wherein the vehicle control system has a function not to start the cell motor when the start operation unit is operated, unless the braking unit is in operation.

Vehicle control system

A blade section has two lands and two flutes in an alternating manner and also has a linear chisel edge. The lands are each provided with: a margin section that is continuous with a cutting blade; a clearance section that is continuous with the margin section and that has a smaller diameter than the margin section; and a pad that is continuous with the clearance section and that has the same width as the width of the margin section.

A friction stir welding method which permits advantageous production of a product which has a sound welded area without joint defects, by joining together two members formed of the same material or respective different materials selected from a cast aluminum alloy and 2000 series, 4000 series, 5000 series and 7000 series aluminum alloys which are considered difficult to be joined together by the friction stir welding method. An initiation tab member formed of a 1000 series, 3000 series, 6000 series or 8000 series aluminum alloy is disposed in abutting contact with end faces of joining portions of first and second members (in an abutting part), on the side of initiation of the welding operation, and the friction stir welding operation is performed by moving a probe of a rotary tool through the initiation tab member into the joining portions of the two members.

Friction stir welding method

A friction stir welding method which permits advantageous production of a product which has a sound welded area without joint defects, by joining together two members formed of the same material or respective different materials selected from a cast aluminum alloy and 2000 series, 4000 series, 5000 series and 7000 series aminum alloys which are considered difficult to be joined together by the friction stir welding method. A termination tab member formed of a 1000 series, 3000 series, 6000 series or 8000 series aluminum alloy is disposed in abutting contact with end faces of joining portions of first and second members (in an abutting part), on the side of termination of the welding operation, and the friction stir welding operation is terminated after a probe of a rotary tool is moved from the joining portions of the two members into the termination tab member.

Providing a rotary tool for friction stir spot-welding, which makes it possible to join together two aluminum members superposed on each other, with a high degree of joint strength. The rotary tool has a probe which is provided in a central part of a distal end portion of a cylindrical tool body so as to extend coaxially with the tool body and which has a stepped structure consisting of an intermediate probe and a central probe which extend coaxially with each other. Distal end faces of the tool body and the intermediate probe respectively give a first shoulder surface and a second shoulder surface which are gradually recessed in a radially inward direction and connected to proximal portions of the respective intermediate and central probes.

Rotating tool for friction stir welding and friction stir welding method using same

An aluminum alloy member including a sheet-like aluminum alloy member having ends joined by friction stir welding, and forming an anodic oxidation coating on a weld front surface or a weld back surface, the aluminum alloy member including 0.3 to 1.5 mass % of Mg, 0.2 to 1.2 mass % of Si, 0.5 mass % or less of Cu, and 0.2 mass % or less of Fe, with the balance being Al and unavoidable impurities, Fe-containing second phase particles having a particle size (circle equivalent diameter) of more than 1 &#x3bc;m, among second phase particles dispersed in a matrix of the aluminum alloy member, having an average particle size of 5 &#x3bc;m or less.

Aluminum alloy member

An aluminum alloy material is welded by performing friction stir welding to form a welded section in an aluminum alloy welded component. The aluminum alloy material contains Mg: 0.3-6.0% (mass %, hereinafter the same), Cu: 0.2% or less, Si: 0.1% or less, Fe: 0.1% or less, the balance being Al and inevitable impurities. Second phase particles dispersed in the aluminum alloy material have a grain size of 5 &#x3bc;m or less as observed with an optical microscopic. Because the second phase particles are homogeneously dispersed in a welded section equivalent portion of the aluminum alloy welded component as compared to other portions, variations in pit formation caused by etching during anodizing are reduced, thereby eliminating color tone variations in the anodized coating formed on the aluminum alloy welded component.

Aluminum alloy welded member

A demand driving force parameter indicative of a demand driving force of the engine is set based on the accelerator pedal operation amount, and a target value of an engine driving force control amount is set based on the demand driving force parameter. The engine driving force control amount is controlled so as to coincide with the target value. A target rotational speed of the engine is set based on the demand driving force parameter, and the continuously variable transmission is controlled so that the rotational speed of the engine coincides with the target rotational speed. One of a first operation mode and a second operation mode is selectable, wherein the fuel consumption rate in the second operation mode is less than the fuel consumption rate in the first operation mode. When the second operation mode is selected, the demand driving force parameter corresponding to the accelerator pedal operation amount is set to a value which is smaller than a value of the demand driving force parameter in the first operation mode, and the target value is calculated based on a first predetermined characteristic preliminarily set according to the engine rotational speed and the demand driving force parameter. The first predetermined characteristic is set so that the target value corresponding to the same engine rotational speed is substantially constant in a first predetermined range of the demand driving force parameter.

Control system for vehicle

A MIG welded joint between aluminum and steel members is obtained by overlapping the aluminum member and the steel member each other and performing MIG welding using a filler wire made of a 4000 or 5000 series aluminum alloy on an end face of the overlapped aluminum member, wherein the aluminum member has a thickness P ranging from 0.5 to 2.0 mm, and the steel member has a thickness Q satisfying the following formula: 0.6&#x2266;Q/P&#x2266;0.8.

MIG welded joint between aluminum and steel members and MIG welding process

A control apparatus for a hybrid vehicle includes an internal combustion engine and a generator motor, a capacitor, and a driving force assisting unit. Further, the control device includes a switching unit that selects an appropriate traveling range from a plurality of traveling ranges including at least a normal traveling range and a charging priority range for preferentially charging the capacitor and switches the range, and a threshold value increasing unit that increases, when the charging priority range is selected by the switching unit, the predetermined determination threshold value as compared to when the normal traveling range is selected by the switching unit.

Control apparatus for hybrid vehicle

A frame member for use in a two-wheeled vehicle and an all-terrain vehicle that includes a plurality of Al members each made of a 7000 series Al alloy having a high strength is provided in which weld crack sensitivity is reduced and a weld joint having an excellent strength is provided. The alloy composition of the 7000 series Al alloy, which provides the Al member, containing Cu: 0.01 to 0.50%, Mg: 0.5 to 2.1%, and Zn: 4.0 to 8.5%, with the balance being Al and inevitable impurities. Further, in the production of the frame member, the plurality of Al members are integrated by welding using a filler metal containing Mg: 5.5 to 8.0%, Cr: 0.05 to 0.25%, Ti: 0.25% or less, Si: 0.4% or less, Fe: 0.4% or less, Cu: 0.1% or less, Zr: 0.05% or less and Zn: 0.25% or less, and with the balance being Al and inevitable impurities.
