Self-lubricating polyacetal resin compositions and molded articles (e.g. 'wear parts') formed thereof include a polyacetal base resin, and a self-lubricating effective amount of a silica powder in which a silicone polymer (e.g. silicone oil) is absorbed. The silica powder acts as a carrier for the silicone polymer so as to improve the dispersibility of the silicone polymer in the polyacetal base resin as well as to allow greater silicone polymer 'loading' of the polyacetal base resin. As a result, improved lubricant dispersibility and sliding characteristics are achieved.

Self-lubricated polyacetal molding compositions and molded articles

Polyacetal resin molding compositions and sliding members formed thereof exhibit anti-friction and abrasion-resistance properties. The polyacetal resin molding compositions include (A) 100 parts by weight of a polyacetal base resin, (B) between 0.5 to 40 parts by weight of a branched or cross-linked graft copolymer which is a graft-reaction product of (a) an olefin polymer, and (b) a vinyl or ether polymer, (C) between 0.1 to 20 parts by weight of a lubricant, and (D) between 0.5 to 30 parts by weight of an inorganic powder having a mean particle diameter of 50 .mu.m or less and a content of particles having a particle diameter of 100 .mu.m or less of at least 95%.

Anti-friction and wear-resistant polyacetal molding compositions, and

A self-lubricating wear part is formed of a polyacetal resin composition that includes (A) a polyacetal base resin, (B) an inorganic powder having an average particle diameter of 50 micometers or less, and a particle diameter distribution such that at least 95 percent of the particles have a diameter of 100 micrometers or less and (C) a fatty acid ester. The wear parts are particularly useful for slidable parts such as guide roller or guide pole.

Self-lubricating polyacetal wear part

A guide wire for a catheter having a body portion comparatively high in rigidity and a distal end portion comparatively flexible. At least portions of the body portion and the distal end portion are formed of a super-elastic metallic member. At least portions of inner core portions on the body portion's side and on the distal end portion's side, both of which are coated by a plastic, are formed of the super-elastic metallic member, and at least a portion of the inner core portion on the distal end portion's side is made smaller in cross-section than the inner core portion on the body portion's side. In consequence, the catheter can be reliably and readily introduced to a predetermined position.

Guide wire for catheter

A thermoplastic resin composition comprises (A) 99.9 to 60 parts by weight of a thermoplastic polyester or a polyacetal, (B) 0.05 to 20 parts by weight of a silicone oil having a viscosity of 150,000 cSt or larger and (C) 0.05 to 20 parts by weight of a lubricating oil having a viscosity of 3,000 cSt or smaller and is improved in durability to abrasion.

Self-lubricating thermoplastic resin wear part

A self-lubricating wear part is formed of a thermoplastic resin composition which exhibits improved durability to abrasion. The resin composition includes a thermoplastic polyester resin or polyacetal resin in an amount between 99.9 to 80.0 parts by weight, and a silicon oil having a viscosity of 150,000 cSt or more in an amount between 0.1 to 20 parts by weight.

A medium for lysine decarboxylation test comprises 2 to 7 g of yeast extract, 1 to 5 g of peptone, 0.5 to 1.5 g of glucose, 0.3 to 1 g of monalkali metal dihydrogen phosphate, 10 to 40 g of L-lysine mineral acid salt, 0.01 to 0.08 of 5'-pyridoxalphosphoric ester, and 0.04 to 0.1 g of a pH indicator, and has a pH value in the range of 5.5 to 6.5 when dissolved in 2 liter of water.
