To meet a main unit downsized and provided with a lot of functions and an interchangeable part made to be versatile by simplification of manufacturing work, thereby preventing increase of the manufacturing cost and decrease of practical utility. When a toner cartridge is mounted to a developing section, a detecting electrode contacts the surface of a first dielectric layer at a position opposed to a pattern electrode of a recognizing portion, and a return electrode of a detecting section contacts the surface of the first dielectric layer at a position opposed to an entire electrode of the recognizing portion. The first dielectric layer is interposed between the detecting electrode and the pattern electrode, and the first dielectric layer and a second dielectric layer are interposed between the return electrode and the entire electrode. When an AC voltage is applied from an AC power source to the detecting electrode, an AC current passes from the detecting electrode to the pattern electrode through the first dielectric layer. The AC current having passed to the pattern electrode passes to the entire electrode through the second dielectric layer, and returns to the return electrode after passing through the second dielectric layer and the first dielectric layer in this order.

Interchangeable part recognizing apparatus and image forming apparatus

A paper-reversing device includes: a driving roller that rotates in one direction; a plurality of driven rollers that are installed around the driving roller while being kept in contact with the driving roller, and that revolve around the driving roller while rotating on their respective axes following the rotation of the driving roller. There is a paper-sending roller that rotates without contacting the driving roller; a roller supporting plate for supporting the driving roller and the driven rollers; a paper-feeding guide section; a paper-reversing guide section; and a solenoid. Paper, which has been fed to the paper-feeding guide section, is sent to the paper-reversing guide section by being sandwiched between the driving roller and one of the driven rollers. Thereafter, the driven roller is separated from the driving roller and is pressed against the paper-sending roller by the revolution. As a result, the rear end of the paper is sandwiched between the paper-sending roller and the driven roller to be discharged. This paper-sending operation can be carried out simultaneously with the next round of paper-feeding operation of paper by the driving roller and another driven roller. Therefore, it becomes possible to provide a shorter paper interval with respect to the paper-sending operation of paper.

Paper-reversing apparatus for use in providing two-sided copies

An image transfer device includes: first and second rollers; and exit-side roller disposed downstream of the second roller; an endless transfer belt tensioned between the first roller and the exit-side roller with the second roller in between so that the part of the transfer belt between the first and second rollers can be kept in contact with a photoreceptor; a conductive, endless voltage supplying belt tensioned between the first and second rollers so as to come in contact with a wide area of the inside surface of the transfer belt. The first roller is applied with a predetermined voltage from a power source so that the voltage is supplied to the transfer range of the transfer belt via the voltage supplying belt. In this arrangement, when a sheet of paper is conveyed into the contact area between the transfer belt and the photoreceptor, a toner image formed on the photoreceptor is transferred to the fed sheet of paper.

Electrostatic image transfer apparatus

A triple-roller device having paper-feeding and sending driven rollers, a paper-feeding guide section and a paper-reversing guide section are provided on both sides of a driving roller that rotates in one direction. The paper-reversing guide section has an upper guide section that corresponds to an upper portion from a mid-point of its curved section, and the upper guide section is driven by a solenoid, and allowed to shift. The upper guide section is allowed to shift to a position at which its end on the paper-feeding and sending side is placed between the driving roller and the paper-feeding driven roller, as well as to a position at which it is placed between the driving roller and the paper-sending driven roller. A sheet of paper, which has entered the paper-reversing guide section, is held by a paper-holding roller device. It is possible to provide a shorter paper interval with respect to the paper-sending operation from the paper-reversing guide section.

To determine whether chip components are properly mounted on a printed circuit board, two sets of slit light beams for projecting slit line images in mutually perpendicular directions are alternately made incident thereon diagonally from above. Edges of the mounted chip components produce discontinuities in the projected slit beam image patterns such that the positions, sizes, orientations, etc. of individual mounted components can be calculated from image data obtained from viewing positions above the circuit board by a camera or the like. Since it can be easily ascertained how the slit line image pattern should appear if proper components are properly mounted, an analysis of the calculated data can indicate whether the chip components are properly mounted on the tested printed circuit board.
