Endotoxin is detected by electrochemical measurement. A detection deviceof endotoxin detects endotoxin contained in a fluid to be tested (for example, a dialysate) specifically in the following manner. First, the fluid to be tested is brought into contact with an adsorbentthat adsorbs endotoxin to cause the adsorbentto adsorb the endotoxin. Then, a basic solution is brought into contact with the adsorbentto desorb the endotoxin. Electrochemical measurement of the basic solution containing the desorbed endotoxin is performed. The endotoxin can be detected by the electrochemical measurement with high sensitivity at low cost.

Method and device for detecting endotoxin

A connection portincludes a cylindrical outer portto which downstream piping(discharge-side piping) is connected; an inner portto which upstream piping(supply-side piping) is connected, and which is provided in the outer port; and a lid memberwhich closes the inner port as well as the outer port. The inner port is provided so as to extend through the outer port from the outside of the outer port, and a heater H is provided on a portion of the inner port projecting outside the outer port. When the lid member is in a closed state, the inner port is heated with the heater to sterilize the portion of the inner port exposed to the outside, thus enabling the connection port to be cleaned at a higher level.

In cleaning the dialysis device, first, the concentrate passage is disconnected from the dialysis solution concentrate container and is connected to the branched passage, and a pre-cleaning process is performed in which the fluid circuit is replace with the purified water, and determining means () of a control device () determines that the fluid circulating in the fluid circuit is not the dialysis solution by using a conductivity meter (), and also determines that gas is not contained in the fluid circuit by using a downward movement detecting sensorin a deaeration tank, and then a main cleaning process is performed by using a cleaning solution. Incomplete cleaning due to incomplete connection can be prevented.
