The present invention provides a document reading apparatus having a document placing plate and a transparent flat plate which hold a document with a surface to be read directed upward, a sensor unit for reading image information of an image on the document surface to be read through the transparent flat plate, a drive mechanism for driving the sensor unit in a direction parallel with the flat plate, and a position entering unit for indicating an arbitrary position on the document surface to be read by a visible light through the transparent flat plate and for detecting the position in association with a transparent tablet. Image reading and position entry can be made with a document held in the apparatus.

Document reading apparatus

A multifunctional copying machine which has a copier function and/or a laser printer function has a copying unit for forming on the surface of a photosensitive body an electrostatic latent image corresponding to an image on a document placed on a document table, developing the latent image, and transferring the developed image onto a transfer sheet, and further has a laser scanning unit for producing a laser beam for scanning the surface of the photosensitive body. The laser scanning unit is detachably attached to the exterior of the copying unit, and the laser beam is guided through a space below the document table.

Multifunctional copying machine

A serial printing mechanism which employs a type wheel having a plurality of type characters has a single motor mounted on a carriage employed to accomplish plural functions. The single motor selectively rotates the type wheel to locate the predetermined type character in front of the typing position, and shifts the carriage. The carriage drive which shifts the carriage along a platen is powered by the single motor through a clutch which selectively engages the motor with the carriage drive.

Serial printing mechanism

A keyboard apparatus has item keys for data entry, and select keys for changing the display of input data written on sheets, according to the item keys, and a changer for the sheets stored in a cartridge, which separates the sheets in the cartridge into two groups, the sheets from one group being moved in the cartridge to a display position and the sheets from the other group being held in a non-display position. A cartridge holds the sheet to be displayed on the top of the stack of sheets remaining in the cartridge and a translator moves the sheets in the cartridge horizontally to the display position.

Keyboard apparatus

A magnetic tape recording and/or reproducing apparatus has a motor driven differential mechanism having racks and pinions, an operatively activatable electromagnetic mechanism having movable levers and a plurality of magnetic coils for moving the levers for engagement with the differential mechanism and a tape transport system adapted to cooperate with the differential mechanism so as to be placed in a desired tape transport operation in accordance with the activational condition of the coils. The apparatus also has a pair of one-way clutches for transmitting the driving power of the motor selectively to the differential mechanism or to the tape transport system in accordance with the rotational direction of the motor.

Operation control device for tape recorders

A magnetic tape recording and/or reproducing apparatus which has a magnetic head, two tape winding reels, a first capstan and a first pressure roller opposed thereto, a second capstan and a second pressure roller opposed thereto, the pressure rollers being movable into contact with the capstans for transporting a magnetic tape. Two fixed motors are coaxial with and directly drive the respective capstans. A tape direction control is connected to the pressure rollers for selectively bring the first or second pressure roller into contact with the first or second capstan, respectively for selectively driving the tape in one or the other direction. A transmission is provided to which the tape direction control is connected for driving the tape winding reels under the control of the tape direction control means. The transmission has idlers for transmitting the rotary motion of the motors and is selectively engageable with one of the two winding reels and one of the two motors or with the other of the two winding reels and the other of the two motors, depending on the direction in which the tape is to be transported.

Magnetic tape recording and/or reproducing apparatus

A tape driving apparatus has an intermediate wheel non-coaxial with a pair of reel hubs and a capstan, and plural idle gears for selectively transmitting the rotating motion to said reel hubs, which are mounted to turn around the intermediate wheel, and a control member for controlling the movement of the idle gears in the required direction. Thereby, the reel hubs are driven and controlled to rotate fast or slow corresponding to the relative movement of the intermediate wheel and the plural idle gears, independently of the rotating motion of the fly-wheel.

Tape driving apparatus

A magnetic tape recording and/or reproducing apparatus having two electric motors, one of which is a capstan driving motor and the other is a reel driving motor. A tape drive capstan is directly driven by the said capstan driving motor without any belts, and transports magnetic tape at a constant velocity by coaction with a pinch roller during recording or reproducing of the magnetic tape. The apparatus has two tape winding reels, and the magnetic tape is wound up by either of the two tape winding reels according to the direction in which the magnetic tape is required to be transported. Each of the two tape winding reels is respectively rotated through idle wheels by the reel driving motor, which is separate from the two tape winding reels, without any slippage at the tape winding reels during recording or reproducing. The idle wheels can engage with both an output shaft of the reel driving motor and one or the other of the two tape winding reels to transmit the rotation of the output shaft of the reel driving motor to one or the other of the two tape winding reels during recording, reproducing and fast feed in both the forward and backward direction of the magnetic tape.

A photographic apparatus for producing a visible image on a photosensitive nit including a photosensitive film mounted on a film mount. The apparatus includes: a first member having a supplying station, an exposure station, a developing station and a fixing station provided on a principal surface thereof; two transfer means, one for transferring the unit from the supplying station to the exposure station and or for transferring the unit from the exposure station to the developing station, and from the developing station to the fixing station; and driving means for driving the two transfer means. A latent image of an original is formed on the film at the exposure station, the latent image is developed at the developing station, and the developed image is fixed at the fixing station. The feature of this apparatus is that the function of holding the unit and guiding it to each of said stations is achieved by the first member, and independently the function of transferring the unit is achieved by the two transfer means, whereby the transfer of the unit from one station to another can be carried out securely without fail, and the mechanism of the apparatus can be simplified.
