Provided is a rotating electrical machine that has superior rotor strength and can be manufactured at low cost, wherein torque generated by a rotor can be increased. Two holes are formed in a circumferential direction in each pole in a rotor. The two holes communicate with an outer periphery of the rotor, and an outer peripheral edge portion on an outer side in a radial direction of the rotor of the two holes is connected via a center bridge between the two holes to a core portion on an inner side in the radial direction of the rotor in each pole. The center bridge is demagnetized, or the permeability thereof is reduced. Consequently, leakage flux passing through the center bridge can be reduced, even when the width of the center bridge is increased.

An embedded permanent magnet type motor, which has one pole configured of two permanent magnets and has a plurality of poles of permanent magnets embedded in a rotor, includes a rotor whose magnet embedding holes communicate with a rotor outer periphery. The rotor has between adjacent poles a q-axis projection projecting in a direction away from a rotor rotation center. The magnet embedding holes are disposed so as to form an inverted V shape. An outer peripheral edge portion on the outer side of the permanent magnets has a curvature radius smaller than the distance from a rotation center axis to a rotor outermost peripheral portion. The outer peripheral edge portion is provided with permanent magnet positioning projections which restrain a movement of the permanent magnets toward between adjacent poles.

A multiple of communication hole pairs each including two communication holes are formed in a rotor in a rotor rotation direction. A region between the two communication holes of each communication hole pair is a center bridge that connects a core portion of the rotor and an umbrella form portion on an outer side in the rotor radial direction, and each communication hole communicates with an outer periphery of the rotor. A multiple of radiating projections protrude in the rotor radial direction from a central axis of rotation between respective pairs of the communication hole pairs. The radiating projections have side surface projections protruding to the umbrella form portion side neighboring in the rotor rotation direction. The side surface projections cover a whole or one portion of the umbrella form portion from the outer peripheral side of the rotor.

Rotor of permanent magnet-type rotary electric machine

Cracking and flying around of permanent magnets in a permanent magnet embedded-type rotating electric machine is prevented. Thermally hardening FRP is used as a reinforcement sheet, and the reinforcement sheet is wrapped around the periphery of a permanent magnet and caused to adhere to the surface of the permanent magnet by being thermally hardened. Subsequently, the permanent magnet to which the reinforcement sheet is adhering is embedded in magnet embedding holes of the rotor. The surface of the reinforcement sheet after thermal hardening is in a state of not being attached to the inner wall surface of the magnet embedding holes. Consequently, no stress caused by the difference between the linear expansion coefficients of the rotor and permanent magnets acts on the permanent magnets when the temperature of the rotor rises, and cracking of the permanent magnets can thus be prevented.

Asynchronous reluctance motor has a rotor wherein a multiple of quadrature axes are formed in a circumferential direction. The rotor has two neighboring quadrature axis holes sandwiching a center bridge in the circumferential direction of the rotor in order to form one quadrature axis. The quadrature axis holes communicate with an outer periphery of the rotor on a side opposite to that of the center bridge. The center bridge is located on the outer side, in a radial direction of the rotor, of an inscribed circle of the multiple of quadrature axis holes. Also, the rotorhas a direct axis projection protruding in the direction of a direct axis between two neighboring quadrature axes.
