An image display device includes a display optical system, a base including a display optical system guide unit configured to guide the display optical system in a substantially linear direction, a main body exterior configured to house the base, a display exterior configured to cover the display optical system, and a display exterior guide unit configured to guide the display exterior in a substantially linear direction relative to the main body exterior, wherein the display optical system is engaged with the display exterior to move in conjunction with the display exterior, and wherein the base and the main body exterior are engaged with each other by an engagement mechanism configured to suppress transmission of an external force applied to the main body exterior to the base.

Image display device

An image forming apparatus forming an image on a recording material includes a main assembly and a supporting member for supporting a plurality of cartridges. The supporting member is movable to an outside position, a first inside position where the cartridges are positioned inside of the main assembly, and a second inside position where the supporting member is movable to the outside position and the first inside position. A first positioning portion positions an associated cartridge when the supporting member is located at the first inside position, and a first preventing portion prevents rotation of the associated cartridge about the first positioning portion. In addition, a second positioning portion positions the associated cartridge when the supporting member is located at the second inside position, and the second positioning portion is spaced from the associated cartridge when the supporting member is located at the first inside position.

A head-mounted display configured to display an image to a user includes a protruding member disposed on an outer surface member of the head-mounted display, and in proximity to a heat generation source arranged inside the head-mounted display, and a heat transfer member disposed between the protruding member and the heat generation source, and arranged to be deformable along a shape of the protruding member. Therefore, the present invention is directed to providing a head-mounted display or a gripping apparatus capable of preventing the occurrence of thermal concentration without impairing an observer's feeling of use.

An image forming apparatus includes a first frame member and a second frame member which are aligned in a direction of a rotation axis of an image bearing member and faces each other across an image forming unit and a stacking unit. A cartridge detachably mountable to an image forming apparatus including a main assembly and a detachably supported supporting member movable between a first position where the cartridge is provided at an image formable position, and a second position retracted from the first position. The cartridge includes a supported portion for being supported by contacting with a supporting portion provided in the supporting member when the supporting member is in the second position, and a suppressed portion for suppressing rotation of the cartridge about the supported portion by engaging with a suppressing portion in the supporting member when the supporting member is in the second position. When the supporting member is at the first position, the supported portion is spaced from the supporting portion and the suppressed portion is spaced from the suppressing portion.

An image forming apparatus includes a main assembly and a supporting member that detachably supports a cartridge between a first position at an image formable position and a second position retracted from the first position. A first engaging portion in the main assembly supports the cartridge by engaging with a first engaged portion on the cartridge when the supporting member is in the first position, and a second engaging portion in the main assembly suppresses rotation of the cartridge about the first engaging portion by engaging with a second engaged portion provided on the cartridge when the supporting member is in the first position. When the supporting member moves from the first position to the second position, the second engaged portion moves to a side downstream of the second engaging portion with respect to a movement direction of the supporting member to disengage from the second engaging portion.

An image forming apparatus for forming an image on a recording material includes a detachably mountable cartridge and a pressing member movable between a pressing position for applying a pressing force to the cartridge to fix the cartridge to an image forming position and a non-pressing position. In addition, a limiting member moves between a limiting position and a non-limiting position. In the limiting position, the limiting member is close to the cartridge placed in the image forming position, with a gap therebetween to limit movement of the cartridge if the cartridge moves against the pressing force of the pressing member. The limiting member permits the cartridge to move from the image forming position to a retracted position, by moving from the limiting position to the non-limiting position.

An electrophotographic photosensitive drum comprises a cylinder having a photosensitive layer formed thereon, with the cylinder being rotatable about an axis thereof. A driving force transmitting part is securely fixed to one axial end of the cylinder. The driving force transmitting part includes (i) a gear encircling a peripheral portion of the driving force transmitting part and (ii) a projection disposed on a side of the gear opposite from the cylinder, with the projection having a base and a free end. An image forming apparatus includes a tray for supporting cartridges, wherein the tray is movable to an outside position, a first inside position, and a second inside position, a first positioning portion, provided in a main assembly, for positioning an associated cartridge of the cartridges when the tray is located at the first inside position, and a first preventing portion, provided in the main assembly, for preventing rotation of the associated cartridge about the first positioning portion. A color electrophotographic image forming apparatus includes cartridge mounting portions for dismountably mounting cartridges and an intermediary transfer member onto which developed images formed on electrophotographic photosensitive drums are transferred. The apparatus also includes an image forming unit comprising the cartridge mounting portions and the intermediary transfer member. The unit is movable between a transfer position for transferring, onto a sheet, the developed images transferred onto the intermediary transfer member from the drums, a cartridge mounting and dismounting position for mounting and dismounting the cartridges relative to the cartridge mounting portions, and an intermediary transfer member mounting and dismounting position for mounting and dismounting the intermediary transfer member relative to a main assembly.

Color electrophotographic image forming apparatus

When a toner image larger than a recording material is formed on an image bearing member, and the toner image is transferred onto the recording material as widely as possible to form an image without margins, a toner in a vicinity of an end portion of the recording material adheres to the recording material while remaining unfixed. In order to suppress the adhesion of the toner to the end portion of the recording material, the recording material is passed through a cleaning unit for the end portion of the recording material after fixation. In the cleaning unit, the recording material is sent askew. By being conveyed while an edge of the end portion of the recording material is rubbed against a cleaning member, the recording material becomes less subject to the adhesion of the toner at the end portion thereof.
