A stencil printing apparatus which suppresses master consumption by switching between simplex printing using a simplex master and single-step duplex printing using a duplex master automatically in accordance with master information and sheet information comprises a printing drum and pressing means, and can be made to switch between duplex printing, in which a rear surface printing step is performed after a front surface printing step, and simplex printing by wrapping a duplex master formed with a first engraved image and a second engraved image around the printing drum during duplex printing, and wrapping a simplex master formed with a third engraved image for simplex printing around the printing drum during simplex printing. Master identification information, indicating whether the master was engraved with duplex printing images or a simplex printing image during engraving, is stored in a storage unit in association with plate cylinder identification information, and either a duplex printing mode or a simplex printing mode is selected on the basis of plate cylinder identification information obtained anew when an operation command or a plate cylinder attachment/detachment command is input into the apparatus, and the master identification information stored in the storage unit.

Stencil printing apparatus for duplex or simplex printing

In a stencil printing apparatus capable of duplex printing, in which a front surface printing process for printing a front surface image on one surface of a sheet of paper fed by a sheet feeding unit is performed, the sheet is re-fed to a sheet re-feeder, and then a rear surface printing process for printing a rear surface image on the other surface is performed. The positions of the front surface image and rear surface image to be formed on the sheet can be moved together by a predetermined amount in a single direction side of a sheet conveyance direction.

Stencil printing apparatus capable of duplex printing

A stencil printer of the present invention includes a print drum around which perforated part of a stencil or master is to be wrapped. A master making section make a master and includes a cutter for cutting the stencil paid out from a roll. A master discharging section removes the master wrapped around the print drum and then discharges it. A deciding device determines, on the turn-on of a power supply, whether or not the power supply has been turned off during an interval between the time when the stencil paid out from the roll starts being perforated and the time when the cutter cuts the stencil. When the deciding device determines that the power supply has been turned off during the above interval, the master discharging section discharges the master present on the print drum.

A printer for printing an image on a paper paid out by a pick-up roller and separated from the other papers by a separating device includes a kind-of-paper setting device for allowing the operator of the printer to select and input the kind of papers to be used. A controller automatically selects, among transport conditions stored beforehand in correspondence to the kinds of papers, optimal transport conditions matching with the kind of papers input by the operator in response to a signal received from the kind-of-paper setting device. The operator should only select and input the kind of papers while watching an LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) provided on an operation panel. The printer obviates troubles relating to the transport of papers.

A sorter having an intermediate transport device using a belt and for transporting printings to bins, and a transport speed control device for changing the transport speed depending on the size of the printings, and the type of the printings including thickness and quality, such that the transport device transports the printings at an optimal speed. The trailing edge portions of the printings are prevented from being left at the outside of the bins and causing jams and other troubles to occur.

An electrophotographic recording apparatus having a photoconductive element, means for providing an electrostatic latent image on the photoconductive element which corresponds to image light, a developing device for developing the latent image to produce a visible image, means for transferring the visible image onto a paper, and means for cleaning the surface of the photoconductive element after the transfer of the visible image. Developers of different colors are selectively supplied to the single developing device to selectively record images in different colors. When a predetermined period of time has expired with no recording action taken after the completion of color recording, a developer collection system is communicated to a cleaning liquid vessel. This shortens the period of time necessary for the next change of recording color and recording operation while allowing a minimum of damage to result from a trouble in the developer collection system.
