A slidably attaching type connector includes female type connector housing that is attached to and detached from a male type connector housing by using a slide member and a lever. One of the connector housings is slidably received within the slide member. When moving the slide member in one direction, the tip end portion of the lever engages with one engaging portion of the other connector housing to draw the one of the connector housings within the other connector housing, thereby attaching the male type and female type connector housings to each other. When moving the slide member in a direction opposite to the one direction, another tip portion of the lever engages with the other engaging portion of the other connector housing to detach one of the connector housings from the other connector housing.

Slidably attaching type connector

In a slidably attaching type connector in which a female type connector housing is attached to and detached from a male type connector housing by using a slide member and a lever, one of the connector housings is slidably received within the slide member. At the time of moving the slide member to one direction, the tip portion of the lever engages with one engaging portion of the other connector housing to draw the one of the connector housings within the other connector housing thereby to attach the male type and female type connector housings to each other. Further, at the time of moving the slide member to a direction opposite to the one direction, another tip portion of the lever engages with the other engaging portion of the other connector housing to detach one of the connector housings from the other connector housing.

Electrical connector assembly slidably mating via internal lever

A slidably fitting type connector has a slide member overlying slidably on a male connector housing and is arranged so that the male connector housing is fitted to and separated from a female connector housing when the leading end portions of each lever engages with a pair of engaging portions of the female connector housing when the slide member is moved back and forth. The levers are provided between the slide member and the male connector housing on inner both sides of the slide member in such a manner that the two levers are directed opposite to each other.

Slidably fitting type connector

A slide member (30) is provided so as to freely slide back and forth in a direction where both connector housings (20 and 40) are fitted/detached into/from each other. When the slide member (30) slides forth, a point section (55) of a lever (50) is engaged with one engagement section (24) and the one connector housing (40) is drawn into the other connector housing (20) so that both the connector housings (20 and 40) are fitted into each other. Whereas when the slide member (30) slides back, a point section (56) of the lever (50) is engaged with the other engagement section (26) of the other connector housing (20) so that both the connector housings (20 and 40) are detached from each other. The other engagement section (26) is formed so as to protruded in a direction where a plurality of terminals (29) provided to the other connector housing (20) are protruded. Namely, a protruded length (L) of the other engagement section (26) becomes longer than a protruded length (H) of the terminals (29).

Slide fit connector

A slidably fitting type connector in which first and second connector housings fit to each other and are detachable from each other by a slide member for sliding the first and second connector housings in the fitting and detaching directions of the first and second connector housings via a lever which is interlocked with the slide member. The first connector housing has an engaging portion and an unlocking member. The slide member is slidably movable on the second connector housing in the fitted and detached directions of the second connector housing to and from the first connector housing. The slide member has a retaining portion engageable with and disengageable from the engaging portion, and a support shaft. The lever is pivotably supported by the support shaft, and pivots as the slide member is slid on the second connector housing. The first and second connector housings are retained together by an engagement of the retaining portion of the slide member and the engaging portion of the first connector housing, the engagement of the retaining portion and the engaging portion can be released by operating the unlocking member.

A connector fitting construction in which a half-fitted condition is positively prevented when fitting a pair of male and female connectors together, and the fitting operation and a fitting release operation can be effected easily, and a connector housing can be formed into a small size. In this connector fitting construction, the male connector includes a connector housing, and an exclusive-use housing forming a slider receiving portion for receiving a slider therein. Guide grooves for respectively guiding opposite side portions of a body of the slider are formed respectively in opposite side portions of the exclusive-use housing. A lock arm, provided at a central portion of the exclusive-use housing, includes a lock beak having a slanting surface, and a housing lock formed on a lower surface thereof at a front end thereof, and side spaces are provided respectively on opposite sides of the lock arm. The slider has a slider arm provided in the slider body, the slider arm having a pair of abutment projections. The female connector includes a pair of stopper projections, which are formed on a housing, and abut respectively against the abutment projections when the two connectors are fitted together, a slanting projection having a slanting surface, and an engagement groove.

Connector fitting construction

A connector in which the connecting terminal is prevented from shifting or playing, and the male and female terminals are positively engaged with each other. The connector comprises a plurality of elongated protrusions 20 formed on the walls of a terminal accommodating chamber 12 in such a manner that they extend in the direction of insertion of a female terminal 13. The female terminal includes a wire clamping section 18 comprising a conductor clamping portion 28 and a cover clamping portion 29. A locking protrusion 21 formed on the bottom of the cover clamping portion 29 is engaged with a locking groove 22 formed in the connector housing 11. Furthermore, the height of the cover clamping portion 29 is made substantially equal to the terminal accommodating chamber 12. Hence, both the position of the front end portion of the female terminal 13 and the position of the wire clamping section 18, which is the rear end portion of the terminal, are positively regulated. Therefore, even when a bending force or tensile force acts on the connected wire 19, the female terminal 13 will never be shifted or vibrated. Thus, with the connector of the invention, the female terminal 13 is positively engaged with the mating male terminal.

Connector having elongated protrusions for securing a connecting

A connector engaging structure which prevents male and female connectors from being insufficiently engaged with each other, and which positively prevents the connector housing from being damaged. The connector engaging structure 1 is designed as follows. In engaging a second connector 3 with a first connector 2, a cantilevered arm 44 formed in an outer housing, which is a part of the second connector, is locked to a locking protrusion 16 of the first connector. Next, a locking arm 25 forming an inner housing 21, which is a part of the second connector 3, is engaged with an engaging groove 15 formed in the first connector 2. With the outer housing 22 moved by the elastic force of a spring member 35, the lock arm 25 is held down so that the first and second connectors are completely engaged with each other.

Connector engaging structure

A winding spring is preset in a connector, with its winding portion fit at an attaching shaft of the connector, in such a manner that its one end is engaged with the connector and its other end on the side of the fitting lever is engaged with a provisional locking protrusion provided on the connector. The fitting lever is rotated around a supporting shaft of the connector so that a sharp tip of a locking releasing body provided on the fitting lever releases the other end of the winding spring from the provisional protrusion, and the other end of the winding spring, because of its resilient returning operation, is engaged with a locking portion provided at the exterior of the locking releasing body. Thus, the winding spring can be mounted in the connector so that its lever side engagement end is surely engaged with the fitting lever.

Connector equipped with fitting lever and method of mounting winding

Disclosed is an engagement drive cam to establish an initial engagement position of a pair of connector housings at the time of engaging the pair of connector housings having the engagement drive cam. The engagement drive cam having cam grooves is arranged on a female connector housing so as to be turnable around a support shaft. Driven pins entering into the cam grooves are arranged on a male connector housing A. Colliding stepped portions for colliding against the drive pins are arranged at entrance portions of the cam grooves, so that the colliding stepped portions are on a line of engagement direction passing through the support shaft.

Low inserting and extracting force connector

The low-operating-force connector consists of a pair of female and male housings. The male housing has on the opposite sides driven pins, while the female housing has pin guide grooves for the driven pins. A cam member is rotatably mounted on the female housing, which consists of levers each including a cam groove and a lever handle connecting the levers. The housings are fitted with or separated from each other through rotation of the cam member. A pair of resilient locking pieces are provided on the outer periphery of the male housing, the locking pieces each including an engagement projection, while a corresponding pair of engagement portions are provided on the lever handle. Springs are so provided between the levers of the cam member and the female housing as to urge the cam member into an upright opened position. On completion of the coupling of the female and male housings, the cam member is locked by the engagement between the engagement projections and portions. When the engagement projections and portions are disengaged, the cam member is opened by the resilient action of the springs up to a starting position for separating the housings.

Low-operating-force connector

A connector for receiving terminals, in which a spacer is provided so as to be insertable slidably into a connector housing along slide rails. The spacer has a provisional locking position and a complete locking position, and includes withdrawal-prevention abutment portions and flexible retaining pieces, wherein the flexible retaining pieces are engaged with the terminals in their provisional locking positions, and the withdrawal-prevention abutment portions are engaged with the terminals in their complete locking positions. As to the spacer itself, a provisional locking pawl is provided at a distal end of a bottom portion of a branch plate which constitutes part of the spacer. Complete locking pawls are provided on upper and bottom portions of a base plate which constitutes another part of the spacer.
