A floating disc brake includes an outer pad disposed on an axially outer side relative to a rotor, an inner pad disposed on an axially inner side relative to the rotor, a fixing member disposed on the axially inner side relative to the rotor, the fixing member being configured to support the inner pad to be movable in an axial direction and being fixed to a vehicle body, and a yoke supported to the fixing member by a slide pin to be movable in the axial direction, the yoke supporting the outer pad. The fixing member is provided with an anchor disposed on a radially outer side relative to the rotor, the anchor being configured to bear a brake tangential force that acts on the outer pad at the time of braking within a circumferential range of a lining constituting the outer pad.

Floating-type disc brake

A disc brake () includes: a floating caliper () including a base portion () slidably supported by an upper guide pin () supported by a support (), a piston side pressing arm () and an opposite piston side pressing arm (); a pair of brake pads (); a drive piston () provided on the piston side pressing arm (); a caliper return mechanism () for elastically biasing the base portion disposed on an end portion of the guide pin () to the side opposite to the drive piston side; and an inner circumferential side washer () disposed on both sides in an axial direction of the rubber ring () elastically supporting the upper guide pin () in a radial direction to restrict an inner circumferential portion of the rubber ring () from bending deformation along an axial direction of the upper guide pin ().

Disc brake and disc brake for railway vehicles

A wedge cam brake executes a braking operation by causing proximal end portions of brake arms to press a pair of pad assemblies against both sides of a brake rotor so as to hold it therebetween by means of a cam action of a wedge cam which is caused to move to a braking position along the direction of a rotational axis of a ball screw which is screwed into a ball nut which is provided integrally with the wedge cam as a result of the ball screw being driven to rotate. The wedge cam includes a compression coil spring for pushing to bias the ball nut towards the braking position where the proximal end portions of the brake arms are expanded and a spring holding mechanism for holding the compression coil spring in a biasing force accumulating state.

Wedge cam brake

A caliper body () of a disc brake apparatus () includes an accommodating portion () which accommodates a piston () for pressing a brake pad (), a cam lever () for generating a pressing force through rotation, and a pressing force transmission mechanism () which is interposed between the piston () and the cam lever () to transmit a pressing force to the piston (). The accommodating portion () has an opening portion through which the piston (), the cam lever () and the pressing force transmission mechanism () can be assembled into the caliper body () from a thick back side thereof, and both the accommodating portion () and the opening portion are opened to a rotor disposition side area in the caliper body ().

Disc brake apparatus

A disc brake apparatus structured such that, on receiving a pressing force from an operating spring, a piston arranged within a cylinder formed in a caliper body presses a piston side pad. The disc brake apparatus includes a support part formed in a part of the caliper body, a reaction force receiver provided on and projected from the lateral side of the piston and opposed to the support part, and cam parts interposed between the support part and the reaction force receiver and, on receiving a rotation force, capable of spreading the distance between the support part and the reaction force receiver to thereby release the pressing force.

A disc brake apparatus that holds brake pads () and is capable of holding a caliper body () in a part of the support is provided with a support in which pairs of torque receiving parts () provided in both sides in a braking force tangential direction and connecting parts () respectively connecting together the torque receiving parts () are provided in both sides in an axial-direction of a rotor. In the support, at least one of the torque receiving parts () is capable of being divided. The support () includes an open part capable of inserting and removing the brake pads () in the braking force tangential direction by dividing the torque receiving parts.

The disk brake device comprises a caliper body including a cylinder part and a pawl part having a notch section connected together by a center bridge and side bridges with notch sections each interposed between the center bridge and side bridges, a support including guide pin guiding parts each interposed between the cylinder part and pawl part, guide pins respectively slidable to the guide pin guiding parts, and an outer side brake pad threadedly engaged with such surface of the pawl part as is opposed to a rotor on the rotor turn-in and turn-out sides of the notch section.

A drum brake apparatus includes first and second brake shoes, a wheel cylinder, an anchor portion, an adjuster, an expansion mechanism for expanding the first and second brake shoes, a switch lever mechanism rotatable by an action force of a given or higher value from the expansion mechanism, and a switch strut, following the rotation of the switch lever mechanism, for expanding the anchor-portion side adjoining ends of the first and second brake shoes.

Drum brake apparatus

A unit friction pad assembly constituting a disk brake friction pad assembly includes a lining assembly which is oscillatably inserted into the guide hole portion of a guide plate to transmit a braking torque from a plate engagement portion to the guide plate and is urged toward the guide plate by a spring member, and a clearance hold mechanism for holding a clearance between the guide plate and torque receiving plate.

Friction pad assembly for disk brake

Disclosed is a structure such that when pad clips are to be mounted, it is possible to handle return springs and the pad clips as integral articles, thereby facilitating mounting work. Constraining sections are provided at both axial ends of each of the pad clips. Furthermore, the return springs are composed of inner spring elements and outer spring elements. These two types of spring elements are helical torsion springs provided with helical sections. Abutting sections are provided on the spring elements, respectively. The abutting sections are pressed against the inner surfaces of the constraining sections by elastic restoring forces. Moreover, the central axes of the coil sections are substantially oriented in the rotational direction of the rotor.

Floating disc brake, method of assembling same, and assemblies consisting of pad clips and return springs

A cam housing assembly oscillates in association with rotation of an eccentric cam which is attached to a camshaft and is allowed to press a clutch by cam pins of the cam housing assembly. A pair of piston assemblies are provided of which each includes a piston which can slide within a sleeve, a spindle and a nut which screws on to the spindle and are supported in hole portions in a caliper body so as to oscillate therein, whereby a brake pad is pressed against by a plug after the spindle, the nut and the piston are sequentially pressed by pressing a clutch by the cam pins. Since the spindle and the nut are screwed on to each other through a reversible screw, a gap is adjusted automatically as the pad wears.

A parking-brake operating mechanism is provided with an adjusting spindle, a cam shaft to which a parking lever is connected, and a thrust transmitting assembly disposed between the cam shaft and the adjusting spindle.
