A double-shot molded resin article comprises a primary molding part and a secondary molding part. The secondary molding part is molded from a thermoplastic resin having a melting point higher than the melting point of the primary molding thermoplastic resin. The primary molding part has a plurality of raised portions formed upon its surface so as to be fusion bonded to the secondary molding part. These raised portions are fused by means of the secondary molten resin at the time of the secondary molding process, whereby the primary and secondary molding parts are fusion-bonded to each other.

A snap hook comprises a base member having a J-shaped hook and a flexible member, and a slider mounted on the base member for movement in directions perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the base member to open and close the J-shaped hook, wherein the hook is normally held closed by the slider biased by the flexible member, and when the slider is depressed with a ring or the like, the slider is moved inwardly to open the hook so that the ring or the like can be hooked.

Fixation of a stud on a workpiece is accomplished by depositing hotmelt adhesive agent on a fitting base of the stud, fastening the stud to a rotary tool, rotating the stud with the fitting base pressed against the workpiece and, after the adhesive agent has been activated to a prescribed extent by the heat of friction, stopping the rotation of the stud and pressing the fitting base against the workpiece.

A latch device for a door or lid comprises a housing, a latch pawl one end of which is secured to the housing and the other end of which is configured to engage an edge of the door or lid, a latch body having a resilient piece for controlling the attitude of the latch pawl, a knob, and a connecting section disposed between the knob and the resilient piece to release the engagement of the latch pawl with the open edge through the resilient piece by pulling the knob.

Disclosed is a lid lock structure for a hinged lid of a recess which is made in a car body to conceal a fueling port. The lid lock structure includes a latch housing containing a bolt and having a plate spring at its head. The bolt catches a catch leg extending from the back of the hinged lid when closed, whereas the plate spring is yieldingly bent to constantly apply pressure to the lid while it is closed. When the bolt is retracted, the lid is unlatched to snap open. The built-in spring structure facilitates assembly work.

A plastic fastener for panels comprises in combination a main body of the shape of an angular pillar provided at the upper end thereof with a flange, elastic tongues formed one each on one of the two pairs of opposed side walls of the main body and extended from the lower side of the flange and slanted downwardly toward the interior of the main body, and fitting means formed one each on the other pair of side walls as bulged outwardly, with the aforementioned elastic tongues provided at the lower ends thereof with grips having threads incised therein. With this plastic fastener, union of a supporting panel and a supported panel is accomplished by inserting the main body into a hole bored in advance in the supporting panel until the flange thereof comes into tight contact with the supported panel and depressing a screw past the supported panel into the main body thereby causing the threads on the grips to come into fast engagement with the threads on the screw. If the screw happens to be exposed to a force tending to expel the screw out of the panel, since the elastic tongues are inwardly slanted downwardly from the lower side of the flange, the resultant force has an effect of enhancing the squeeze of the grips on the screw.

Disclosed is a device for clamping two plates with their surfaces laid on each other, comprising a hollow head, a hollow trunk provided on each side with a side catch and provided with a tongue between its opposite sides, a leg extension hinged to the trunk and provided with a front catch, and a foot integrally connected to the end of the leg extension. In use, the leg extension is folded to fit in the trunk hollow space, and at the same time, the foot is pushed in the head hollow space. The folded body is pushed in a fixing aperture made in a first plate until its side catches engage the undersurface of the aperture edge. Then, the first plate is pushed against a second plate with the folded clamp inserted in a fixing aperture made in the second plate until its front catch engages the undersurface of the aperture edge of the second plate. In unclamping, the foot is pushed against the resilient tongue to disengage the front catch from the underlying plate, and then the overlying plate can be readily detached from the underlying plate.

A fastener comprising a male member formed of a flat base, a clipping shank provided on the underside of the base, and a pillar erected upright from the upper side of the base and provided at the leading end thereof with a head, and a female member formed of a tubular part, a pair of depressing blades raised through thin-walled hinges from the tubular part and projected parts provided at the lower ends of the depressing blades. This fastener provides the fastening of a compressible sheet such as an insulator sheet or carpet to an interior decorative panel in an automobile, for example, by having the tubular part set around the pillar of the male member with the depressing blades kept in an upright position, causing the head of the pillar to force the depressing blades down to a level position thereby bringing the projected parts into fast engagement with the underside of the head of the pillar and nipping the compressible sheet fast in position between the male member and the female member.

A filter device for a fuel tank comprises an upper wall for supporting in position a tubular member such as a fuel line or a pump casing, a bottom wall disposed at a distance from the upper wall, and a cylindrical wall supporting in position a mesh encircling the space intervening between the upper wall and the bottom wall. The cylindrical wall and either the upper wall or the bottom wall are integrally molded of a plastic material in one integral part, the bottom wall or the upper wall is molded separately of a plastic material in a separate part to be fitted to the free end of the cylindrical wall in the one integral part, one of the two parts which has an outer fitting peripheral wall surface is formed of a plastic material having a smaller rate of dimensional change, and the other part which has an inner fitting peripheral wall surface is formed of a plastic material having a larger rate of dimensional change.

Disclosed is a blind rivet comprising a shank provided with a series of engaging teeth and a lower end having an increased diameter and a rivet body disposed around the shank and provided with a series of lock steps formed so as to correspond to the series of engaging teeth on the shank, a head portion to close one edge of the fitting hole of a panel subjected to rivetting and a lower end substantially joined to the lower end of the shank, whereby desired firm rivetting of the panel is accomplished by inserting the rivet body accommodating the shank into the hole of the panel and moving upwardly the shank for thereby causing the enclosing wall portion of the rivet body to be eventually bent inwardly and doubled up to expand radially the rivet body.

A molding clip assemblage for mounting a molding about the periphery of a windshield of the type comprising a base plate adapted to be attached to the peripheral edge of the window frame and a plurality of clips adapted to be attached to the base plate at predetermined intervals, the base plate having a recessed part for accommodating the lower part of the clips, the clips being provided with a retaining claw for retaining the outer edge of the molding, with a retaining mechanism for preventing the clip from being extracted from the recessed part of the base after being accommodated therein, and with an operable release member for releasing the engagement of the retaining mechanism, whereby the molding retained by the clips can be released therefrom by manipulating the operable release member.

A plastic clip comprises an insertion piece adapted to be inserted into the groove of an object having a section of the shape of the letter 'C' from one end thereof, a neck portion projecting from the center of one surface of the insertion piece and adapted to pass along the slit communicating with the groove of the object, and an oblong head piece formed at the leading end of the neck portion. The insertion piece of the clip is provided with four flexible wings projecting outwardly from the four positions on the outer boundary of the central piece. With this clip, the object is fixed on a given panel by causing the central portion of the insertion piece to be slid into the groove of the object, then allowing the oblong head piece of the clip to be passed through a matched oblong hole bored in advance in the panel and finally turning the protruding oblong head piece by 90.degree., and the removal of the object from the panel is effected by turning the oblong head piece by another 90.degree..

A blind rivet of plastic material, comprising a shank and a rivet body disposed round the shank and separated into an upper portion and a lower portion such that, when the shank is lifted up relative to the rivet body for the purpose of binding given panels, one of the upper and lower portions of the rivet body is caused to ride over the other of the aforementioned two portions and consequently the rivet body as a whole is expanded outwardly in the radial direction, enabling the panels to be pressed tightly against each other and secured fast in position.

A blind rivet comprising a shank and a rivet body enclosing the shank, the rivet body containing in the cylindrical wall thereof wedge means and windows possessing spaces for admitting the wedge means such that, when the blind rivet is inserted through holes perforated in advance in the panels to be joined therewith and, subsequently, the shank is slid up the interior of the rivet body, the cylindrical wall of the rivet body is bent outwardly in the radial direction and, at the same time, the wedge means are raised and forced into the spaces of the windows, causing the cylindrical wall of the rivet body to be brought into tight contact with the edges of the holes in the panels and consequently enabling the blind rivet to be secured to the panels.
