A valve control apparatus is provided with a valve, a shaft supporting the valve, an end-gear of an actuator driving the valve. The shaft is press-inserted into the end-gear. A stopper disposed on the shaft regulates a valve operation range. The end-gear can engage with the middle gear of the reduction-gears mechanism even in out of the gear-operation-angle range. When a rotation angle sensor detects a rotation angle of the end-gear in out of the gear-operation-angle range, it is determined that a malfunction occurs in a rotation-force-transmitting path.

An intake system for an internal combustion engine includes a control unit that adjusts the opening amount of a TCV having a valve body and a valve shaft within a valve opening amount range between first and second opening amounts, and first and second rotation restriction portions that prevent the valve body from moving beyond first and second opening amount positions, respectively, by contacting the valve shaft. The valve body is divided into a short valve portion and a long valve portion located upstream of the short valve portion by the valve shaft. The length from the valve shaft to the tip is greater in the long valve portion than in the short valve portion. When the valve body is in the first or second opening position, the valve shaft is pushed against the first or second rotation restriction portion by intake air flowing through an intake pipe.

Intake system for internal combustion engine

A controlling device for an internal combustion engine includes an estimating portion to calculate an estimation value relative to an open degree of a valve based on a predetermined estimation formula. A signal of a sensor is changed, when the valve has a predetermined open degree defined between a full close and a full open. The estimating portion determines that an actual open degree of the valve is smaller than the predetermined open degree, in a case that the signal of the sensor is not changed when the estimation value becomes equal to or larger than the predetermined open degree.

Controlling device and method of estimating valve opening for internal combustion engine

A control device that is used in a distributed control system and controlling a control target while serially transmitting data to a reception side control device by a pulse train signal, wherein when the control target is normal, state quantity data representing the state quantity of the control target is transmitted to the reception control device, and when abnormality occurs in the control target, the abnormality data representing the abnormality concerned and the state quantity data are transmitted to the reception control device in a predetermined order.

Distributed control system and control device thereof

The throttle position corresponding to the rotational angle of the throttle valve is calculated based on electric signals output from a rotor position detector constituted by three Hall ICs that detect the rotational position of a magnet rotor of a brushless DC motor. A valve position control quantity of the throttle valve is so calculated as to eliminate the difference between the thus calculated valve position and a target valve position. The motor current control quantity of the brushless DC motor is so determined as to eliminate the difference between the calculated valve position and the target valve position. Though the throttle position sensor is omitted, the electric signals output from the rotor position detector are used for calculating both the valve position control quantity and the motor current control quantity.
