A cluster-supporting catalyst including porous carrier particles having acid sites, and catalyst metal clusters supported within the pores of the porous carrier particles. The catalyst metal clusters are obtained by supporting catalyst metal clusters having a positive charge, which is formed in a dispersion liquid containing a dispersion medium and the porous carrier particles dispersed in the dispersion medium, on the acid sites within the pores of the porous carrier particles through an electrostatic interaction.

Cluster supported catalyst and production method therefor

A cluster-supporting catalyst including porous carrier particles having acid sites, and catalyst metal clusters supported within the pores of the porous carrier particles. In the cluster-supporting catalyst including porous carrier particles having acid sites, and catalyst metal clusters supported within the pores of the porous carrier particles, the catalyst metal may be rhodium, the catalyst metal may be palladium, the catalyst metal may be platinum, or the catalyst metal may be copper.

There is provided a cluster-supporting porous carrier having improved heat resistance and/or catalytic activity, and a method for producing it. The cluster-supporting porous carrier of the invention has porous carrier particles () such as zeolite particles, and metal oxide clusters () supported within the pores of the porous carrier particles. The method of the invention for producing the cluster-supporting porous carrier includes providing a dispersion containing a dispersing medium () and porous carrier particles dispersed in the dispersing medium, forming positively charged metal oxide clusters () in the dispersion, and supporting the metal oxide clusters within the pores of the porous carrier particles () by electrostatic interaction.

A method for producing a cluster-supporting catalyst, the cluster-supporting catalyst including porous carrier particles that has acid sites, and catalyst metal clusters supported within the pores of the porous carrier particles, includes the following steps: providing a dispersion liquid containing a dispersion medium and the porous carrier particles dispersed in the dispersion medium; and in the dispersion liquid, forming catalyst metal clusters having a positive charge, and supporting the catalyst metal clusters on the acid sites within the pores of the porous carrier particles through an electrostatic interaction.

An improved cluster-supporting catalyst has heteroatom-removed zeolite particles, and catalyst metal clusters supported within the pores of the heteroatom-removed zeolite particles. A method for producing a cluster-supporting catalyst includes the following steps: providing a dispersion liquid containing a dispersion medium and the heteroatom-removed zeolite particles dispersed in the dispersion medium; and in the dispersion liquid, forming catalyst metal clusters having a positive charge, and supporting the catalyst metal clusters within the pores of the heteroatom-removed zeolite particles through an electrostatic interaction.

Cluster supported catalyst and method for producing same

Cluster-supporting catalyst having an improved heat resistivity, and method for producing the same are provided. The cluster-supporting catalyst includes boron-substitute zeolite particles, and catalyst metal clusters supported within the pores of the boron-substitute zeolite particles. The method for producing a cluster-supporting catalyst, includes the following steps: providing a dispersion liquid containing a dispersion medium and boron-substitute zeolite particles dispersed in the dispersion medium; and in the dispersion liquid, forming catalyst metal clusters having a positive charge, and supporting the catalyst metal clusters on the acid sites within the pores of the boron-substitute zeolite particles through an electrostatic interaction.

Cluster-supporting catalyst and process for producing the same

A four-stroke engine is provided to lubricate driving parts including a crankshaft and valve operating members while circulating oil, using pressure fluctuation in a crank chamber, the pressure fluctuation being caused by reciprocating motion of a piston. A cam driving parts move with rotation of the crankshaft; a driving chamber and a rocker chamber are connected to one another; the rocker chamber is connected to the crank chamber and a gas-liquid separator; the oil accumulated in a tank is sucked up into the crank chamber and circulated through each part of the four-stroke engine; the crank chamber and the driving chamber are connected to one another via a communicating passage and a return passage; and the crank chamber and the driving chamber connected to one another via the return passage communicate with one another only when the piston is located in a vicinity of the top dead center.

A sludge adhesion inhibiting structure for an internal combustion engine according to the present invention is characterized in that a sludge inhibiting layer inhibiting generation or adhesion of sludge is formed on a surface of an area inside the internal combustion engine into which oil as a liquid does not always spread and which is contacted by oil mist as a gas. Preferably, the sludge inhibiting layer is made up of a solid alkali substance. Furthermore, the sludge inhibiting layer is provided in a head cover and formed on an inner surface of an oil separator chamber separating the oil from a blow-by gas.

Sludge adhesion inhibiting structure for internal combustion engine

An exhaust emission control system of an internal combustion engine desorbs SOby reversing a flow of an exhaust gas through an NOstorage-reduction catalyst, of which a structure is simplified as follows. A first exhaust pipe connected to an engine is connected to a first port of an emission switching valve having four ports. A second exhaust pipe, through which the exhaust gas is discharged into the atmospheric air, is connected to a second port, a third exhaust pipe connected to an inlet of a catalytic converter is connected to a third port. A fourth exhaust pipe connected to an outlet of the catalytic converteris connected to a fourth port. When the emission switching valve is set in a forward flow position, the first exhaust pipe is connected to the third exhaust pipe, and the second exhaust pipe is connected to the fourth exhaust pipe, whereby the exhaust gas flows toward the outlet from the inlet within the catalytic converter. When the emission switching valve is set in a backward flow position, the first exhaust pipe is connected to the fourth exhaust pipe, and the second exhaust pipe is connected to the third exhaust pipe, whereby the exhaust gas flows toward the inlet from the outlet within the catalytic converter.

Exhaust emission control system of an internal combustion engine

When burning fuel under a lean air-fuel ratio, the nitrogen monoxide is adsorbed by the NOstoring and decomposing catalyst () and disassociated. At this time, the disassociated oxygen is held in the form of oxygen ions Oon the NOstoring and decomposing catalyst (). By making the air-fuel ratio rich and purging part of these oxygen ions O, the remaining oxygen ions Oare also purged. Due to this, the NOpurification performance of the NOstoring and decomposing catalyst () is restored.

Exhaust purification method and exhaust purification apparatus of internal combustion engine

A main particulate filter having a relatively large volume is arranged in an exhaust passage of an engine, and an auxiliary particulate filter having a relatively small volume is arranged in the exhaust passage upstream of the main particulate filter. The main and auxiliary particulate filters are arranged so that the open downstream ends of the single open end-type exhaust gas passages of the auxiliary particulate filter and the open upstream ends of the open upstream end-type exhaust gas passages of the main particulate filter substantially face each other, and the open downstream ends of the both open end-type exhaust gas passages of the auxiliary particulate filter and the closed upstream ends of the open downstream end-type exhaust gas passages of the main particulate filter substantially face each other. A catalyst having an oxidation function is carried on the auxiliary particulate filter.

Device for purifying the exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine

A catalyst () suitable for reduction of the NOin an exhaust gas by ammonia in the presence of excess oxygen is arranged in the exhaust passage () of an internal combustion engine. An aqueous urea solution is fed through a flow control valve () to the inside of the exhaust passage () upstream of the catalyst (). When the engine is accelerated and the temperature of the catalyst () rises, ammonia is released at a little at a time from the inside of the catalyst () and the NOin the exhaust gas is reduced by the released ammonia.
