A capacitance detection device includes a first electrode and a second electrode that at least partially face each other on opposite sides of a transfer path. An oscillator circuit forms an electric field between the first electrode and the second electrode. A detection circuit detects a change in capacitance between the first electrode and the second electrode. At least one of the oscillator circuit and the detection circuit is included in each of a first board and a second board. The first board is disposed such that a side surface of the first board faces the first electrode in an electric field direction, and the second board is disposed such that a side surface of the second board faces the second electrode in the electric field direction.

Capacitance detection device and image reading device

A lighting apparatus includes a first illumination portion and a second illumination portion. The first illumination portion and the second illumination portion respectively include a bar-like light guide whose shape of an end face of an end portion includes a part of a circle, an ellipse or a parabola, and light source elements that are provided to face the end face of the end portion of the light guide. In the light guide of the second illumination portion, light enters a determined range in which a focus of the shape of the end face of the end portion of the light guide is included. In the light guide of the first illumination portion, light enters a range that is not the determined range in which the focus of the shape of the end face of the light guide is included.

Lighting apparatus and image reading apparatus

A magnetic field generator disposed on one surface side of a sheet-shaped object-to-be-detected contains a magnetic component. The magnetic field generator includes a first magnetic pole part that forms a first magnetic pole, and a second magnetic pole part that forms a second magnetic pole with reverse polarity of the first magnetic pole. The magnetic field generator generates a cross magnetic field that crosses the object-to-be-detected. An MR element is disposed between the first magnetic pole part and the object-to-be-detected. The resistance value of the MR element changes according to a change in a component of the cross magnetic field in a conveying direction. The position of the MR element in the conveying direction is position shifted along the conveying direction from the center position of the first magnetic pole part in the conveying direction, and located between both ends of the first magnetic pole part in the conveying direction.

Magnetic sensor device

A magnet is disposed on one side of a conveyance plane in which a sheet-like medium to be read is conveyed and generates a magnetic field in a direction perpendicular to the conveyance plane. A magnetoresistive effect element is disposed between the magnet and the conveyance plane, and detects an intensity variation in a conveyance direction component of the magnetic field in a magnetic reading area. An imaging optical system and a light receiver are disposed on the side opposite to the magnet side with respect to the conveyance plane. The imaging optical system forms an image of an optical reading area on the light receiver, the optical reading area including at least a portion in the conveyance direction of the magnetic reading area of the conveyance plane.

Image reading device

A light source device includes: a light-emitting part; a light guide including in its center a columnar part whose central axis direction is a lengthwise direction, that guides light input into an end face from the light-emitting part, and outputs light from a side face of the columnar part; a light guide holder that covers an end of the light guide except for at least part of the end face; and a support part, including a through-hole that penetrates from one face to another face formed therein, that holds an end of the light guide holder on a side of a first opening on the one face of the through-hole so as to allow sliding in the lengthwise direction, and light is input into the light guide via a second opening on the other face of the through-hole.

Light-source device

An irradiation device increasing the lighting depth and facilitating the assembling is provided. A transparent bar-shaped light guide having LEDs disposed near ends thereof includes a first prism group and a first reflector, and, a second prism group and a reflector which are provided so as to extend in a lengthwise direction and which diffuse and reflect light. The light guide includes a first light outgoing area emitting reflected light as primary light Lm, and a second light outgoing area emitting reflected light as secondary light Ls. The first light outgoing area includes a plane portion forming a flat surface. A plane mirror reflects the secondary light Ls in a direction overlapping the primary light Lm in a read area.

Irradiation device and image-reading device

The light source unit comprises a light source emitting visible light and light of a non-visible wavelength; a rod-like light guide at the end of which the light source is provided and within which incident light from the light source is propagated in the long axis direction; a reflector that is linear along the long axis direction and provided on the contour surface of the light guide; and a support member encompassing the reflector and light guide, having a given width in the direction perpendicular to the long axis direction, and provided with an opening extending along the long axis direction. The reflector and support member are formed by a reflecting material containing a substance reflecting the light of a non-visible light wavelength and reflecting the visible light and light of a non-visible light wavelength.

A magnetic sensor device includes a first magnet and a second magnet that are disposed on mutually opposing sides of a conveyance path, and one of poles of the first magnet faces an opposite pole of the second magnet. The first magnet and the second magnet generate a cross magnetic field whose strength in a spacing direction, which is orthogonal to a conveying direction, is within a predetermined range. An AMR element is located in a magnetic field in which the strength of the cross magnetic field in the spacing direction is within a predetermined range, and detects, as change in a resistance value, change in the cross magnetic field caused by an object to be detected. A multilayer board outputs the change in the resistance value detected by the AMR element to a processing circuit.

By providing a first magnet and a second magnet on wall surfaces of a hollow section where paper money is conveyed such that different magnetic poles face each other, a gradient magnetic field is formed wherein both a magnetic field component in an opposing direction to the magnets and a magnetic field component in a conveyance direction of the paper money include a zero point. An AMR element is provided between the paper money and the first magnet. The AMR element is enclosed by a multi-layered substrate and covered with resin. The AMR element is provided in an area where the magnetic field intensity is weak, which is where the magnetic field intensity in the gradient magnetic field in the conveyance direction is near zero. The paper money passes through an area where the magnetic field intensity of the gradient magnetic field is strong.
