There is provided a fly sewing machine. A fly supply unit is configured to supply flies to a transfer passage. A fly transfer unit is configured to transfer and send the fly supplied by the fly supply unit toward the downstream side thereof. A chain feed unit is configured to feed a slide fastener chain onto the flies sent by the fly transfer unit. An auxiliary conveyance unit is configured to press the flies and the slide fastener chain which are overlapped by the chain feed unit from above or below, and to send the flies and the slide fastener chain toward the downstream side thereof. A sewing machine part is configured to stitch together the flies and the slide fastener chain sent by the auxiliary conveyance unit.

Fly sewing machine

An apparatus and method for manufacturing a slide fastener. The apparatus may provide a chain transfer path inclined downward for transferring a fastener chain, a chain cutting portion disposed at a middle of the transfer path and a feed portion disposed on an upstream side of the chain cutting portion of the chain transfer path. A control portion may also be provided for a) stopping to transfer the fastener chain by the feed portion and b) operating the chain cutting portion. A pivoting section may also be provided, which pivots the chain cutting portion by a predetermined angle on the chain transfer path around an axis line orthogonal to the transfer path.

Slide fastener manufacturing apparatus

The invention is a continuous finishing apparatus for a slide fastener having a slider introduction portion for successively introducing a slider by intermittently running a slide fastener chain, wherein, a slider introduction member thrusts into the space portion when the slider held by a slider holding member is brought into a space portion and set therein, moves downstream of the slide fastener chain within the space portion, holds an engaging element disposed at a downstream end portion of the space portion, and then, continues to move to the downstream for carrying the slide fastener chain, and wherein the slider is introduced and set along the same chain upon this carriage. Because the slider introduction member carries the slide fastener by holding the engaging elements on an edge of the fastener tape, which is least elongated, no disagreement occurs in position of corresponding right and left engaging elements.

Continuous finishing apparatus for slide fastener

In a slide fastener chain sewing apparatus, a continuously supplied slide fastener chain is successively sewn onto a pair of left and right cloth pieces. A chain cutter cuts the slide fastener chain between the cloth pieces which are moved continuously over a sewn product transfer device table and suspending from a front end of the table. A sewn product receiving section has sewn product transfer means for receiving, in a lower part, a sewn product cut away from the succeeding cloth piece having the fastener chain sewn thereto. The sewn product transfer device transfers the sewn product to a rear end of the table through a lower space portion of the table.

Apparatus for sewing slide fastener chain onto cloth piece

An apparatus for assembling a continuous chain of fastener stringers with bottom end stops and sliders comprises a slider holder means capable of rotating about an axis extending parallel to the direction of feed of the stringer chain and having symmetrical upper and lower portions each with an identical set of operative parts. The slider holder means is rotatable intermittently each for an angular distance of 180.degree. between a first position in which a slider is received into one of a pair of pockets formed at opposite ends of the slider holder and a second position in which another slider already in the other pocket is assembled with its pull tab disposed on the same side of the stringer chain on which a bottom end stop is assembled.

Apparatus for applying bottom end stops and sliders to a slide fastener

A slide fastener shortening method for shortening a slide fastener with rows of fastener elements made of synthetic resin from a predetermined length of the slide fastener into a desired short length thereof. In an illustrative embodiment, the present invention includes the steps of: inserting removers disposed at the position orthogonal to the fastener tape into the interstice between fastener elements at a position approximately corresponding to the fastener element length required in a product slide fastener of the desired short length, pressing unnecessary fastener elements of the extra length adjacent to the removers along the proper length to thin the fastener elements to permit easy deformation, pulling the slide fastener in the longitudinal direction to strip off the compressed and deformed fastener elements with the removers and to remove them from each fastener tape so as to form space sections free of fastener elements, and cutting them within the space sections into the desired short length to obtain the product slide fastener of the desired short length. This method may also comprise the steps of, stripping the pressed and deformed fastener elements form the fastener tape with the remover so as to form the space sections free of the fastener elements, and cutting the slide fastener within the space sections into the desired short length to obtain the product slide fastener of the desired short length after attaching upper ends to the fastener element rows of the product slide fastener of the desired short length.

Method and apparatus for shortening size of slide fastener

An apparatus is disclosed for automatically serging a trouser-fly piece initially along an arcuate line of stitching extending across its leading end while tracing and trimming that arcuate line in advance of serging and thereafter continuing to serge along a straight line of stitching extending parallel to one longitudinal substantially straight side edge of the trouser-fly piece. The apparatus incorporates control means including a control counter and a delay counter both operatively associated with the operation of a sewing needle so as to ensure serging of the trouser-fly piece over its full length with accurate and uniform finishing.

In a sewing of successive substantially rectangular fly pieces to a continuous slide fastener chain on a sewing machine, a corner of the leading end of the individual fly piece is automatically folded as the fly piece is advanced toward a sewing station defined by the sewing machine, then two plies of the folded corner are joined with a line of stitches when the fly piece is sewn to the slide fastener chain by the same stitches. A longitudinal edge of the fly pieces is serged with a line of overedge stitches running across the folded corner.

Method and apparatus for sewing fly pieces to a slide fastener chain

In an apparatus for manufacturing a bidirectionally openable slide fastener, a guide unit is disposed between a pair of spaced first and second slider attachment units for holding taut an individual slide fastener length between the guide unit and a chain gripper even when the individual slide fastener length is severed from a slide fastener chain after the threading of a first slider on the first slider attachment unit but before the threading of a second slider on the second slider attachment unit. With this guide unit, the individual slide fastener length is tensioned properly, so that the second slider can be smoothly and reliably threaded over the slide fastener length.

Apparatus for manufacturing bidirectionally openable slide fasteners

In a method for automatically attaching successive fly strips to a continuous slide fastener chain, the successive strips are fed to a standby point one after another by a conveyor horizontally spaced from a sewing machine by a gap in which the standby point is disposed. A preceding strip is supplied from the standby point to the sewing machine with its trailing end portion hanging in the gap, while a succeeding strip is kept waiting at the standby point for a subsequent supply. When the trailing end of the preceding strip has passed a fixed point downstream of the standby point in the gap as the sewing of the preceding strip progresses, the succeeding strip is supplied at a speed higher than the rate at which the sewing of the preceding strip progresses.
