In a diesel particulate filtering device A, B which is provided with a diesel particulate filter units for cleaning exhaust gas, and in which cleaning of the exhaust gas and the recovery thereof are performed, diesel particulate filter controllers for determining a recovery time based on detected values PI, PO0, PO1, PO2 of exhaust pressure sensors to in an upstream side of said diesel particulate filter units and a downstream side thereof are provided with determination-value update means resetting determination values R0, R1, R2 for determining a recovery time by comparing the detected values, PO0, PO1, PO2 with a standard exhaust pressure value P0. According to this constitution, the determination values R0, R1, R2 for determining the recovery time can be corrected simply by using determination-value update means without changing contents of a control program when mounting it on a motor vehicle and coping with variations in output of the pressure sensors to due to time aging and so forth.

Diesel particulate filtering device

A diesel particulate filter apparatus comprises filter structures bent in a wavy profile, formed in a tubular form, and comprising ceramic fiber laminate materials formed by randomly laminating a ceramic fiber and wire nets laminated on the ceramic fiber laminate materials. First rigid members and second rigid members are fitted in and on both end portions of the filter structures. Tubular clamping members for clamping the filter structures in the thickness-wise direction thereof are provided on the outer sides of the second rigid members. Woven fabrics may be interposed between nonwoven fabrics of the ceramic fiber and the wire nets constituting the filter structures. Filter members comprise ceramic fiber laminate materials formed by laminating a ceramic fiber, and glass layers covering the outer peripheral surfaces of the ceramic fiber laminate materials and having a low Young's modulus and a coefficient of linear thermal expansion substantially the same as that of the ceramic fiber, whereby breakage of the fiber laminate materials can be prevented while enabling forming thereof.

Diesel particulate filter apparatus

An exhaust particulate filter for a diesel engine which is high in collecting efficiency of exhaust particulates and small in pressure loss, by using a felt-like body having pores of an optimum inner diameter between heat resistant inorganic lengthy fibers. Wire nets (31) formed of heat resistant metal are put upon both upper and lower surfaces of felt-like body (32), which are arrested from both the surfaces thereof by heat resistant yarn (33), the felt-like body (32) being configured such that heat resistant inorganic lengthy fibers cut into a predetermined length are irregularly oriented in a horizontal direction and laminated, to which needles are applied, and the inorganic lengthy fibers are vertically entangled.
