A holding hole of a holding body has an edge portion and an inner peripheral surface which is a concavely curved surface connected to the edge portion. In a light source unit which supports a light source, projections are formed at three locations, and each of front surfaces thereof has a convexly curved line having a curvature radius longer than that of the inner peripheral surface. When the light source unit is inserted into the holding hole, the front surfaces of the projections at the three locations are brought into point contact with the edge portion at contact portions on the convexly curved lines.

The present invention has a hydrogen detection portion composed of a semiconductor and a hydrogen absorber provided at least a part of a surface thereof, and pairs of electrodes provided at the semiconductor so as to sandwich the place at which the hydrogen absorber is provided and so as not to be electrically connected to each other with the hydrogen absorber, wherein the presence of hydrogen can be detected by the change in resistance of the semiconductor in response to hydrogen absorption into the hydrogen absorber, the change in resistance being measured between said pairs of electrodes.

Hydrogen sensor

A detection device includes an X-axis magnetic sensor, a Y-axis magnetic sensor, and a Z-axis magnetic sensor each having a sensing axis for detecting a geomagnetic azimuth and a sensor controlling semiconductor. The magnetic sensors are selected from those fabricated from the same wafer, each having the same structure, and directly mounted on the circuit substrate by directing the respective sensing axes of the magnetic sensors at different predetermined angles. Electrodes of the magnetic sensors for conducting the sensor controlling semiconductor are located in a parallel row at one side of the sensing surface.

In a magnetic sensor module, using die-bond resin as a joining material, a Z-axis magnetic sensor is mounted onto a substrate having a wire formed on its principal surface. The Z-axis magnetic sensor having electrode pads formed on its bottom surface is tilted by 90 degrees and mounted onto the substrate. Therefore, the electrode pads are positioned at a side surface thereof. A joining material accommodation area which the die-bond resin can fill is provided at the surface of the Z-axis magnetic sensor opposing the principal surface of the substrate. This joining material accommodation area has a grooved structure. At the surface of the Z-axis magnetic sensor opposing the principal surface of the substrate, the grooved structure is provided at an end portion near the wire formed on the substrate.

A hydrogen sensor includes a hydrogen-absorbing material, a thermoelectric element, an electrical circuit for driving the thermoelectric element, a thermometer for the hydrogen-absorbing material, a temperature control circuit for maintaining the hydrogen-absorbing material at a constant temperature using the thermoelectric element, a unit for calculating the exothermic value of the hydrogen-absorbing material based on the electrical current flowing from the drive circuit, and a unit for calculating the hydrogen uptake of the hydrogen-absorbing material based on the exothermic value.

Hydrogen sensor, apparatus for measuring hydrogen concentration, and method for measuring hydrogen concentration

A converter for satellite communication reception which reduces signal losses and has a simplified assembling work is disclosed. In operation, orthogonal bipolarized signals transmitted from a satellite are branched into two propagation paths within a waveguide. A horizontally polarized wave is caused to proceed in a first propagation path, while a vertically polarized wave is caused to proceed in a second propagation path. A pair of probes supported by a circuit substrate and fitted to a case have tips that extend into two waveguides to receive the respective signals. By integrating the waveguide and the case by fastening, the first propagation path and the first waveguide are positioned to communicate with each other, as are the second propagation path and the second waveguide.

Converter for satellite communication reception having branching waveguide with L-shape probes

A radiation section of a dielectric feeder protrudes from an opening of a waveguide to improve the efficiency of receiving radio signals. An opening is provided at one end of the waveguide. A dielectric feeder held within the waveguide has a radiation section protruding from the opening. An annular wall having a bottom surrounds the opening of the waveguide. The depth of the annular wall is about &frac14; of the wavelength of radio waves, and the width of a bottom surface of the annular wall is about &frac16; to {fraction (1/10)} of the wavelength of the radio waves. Consequently, the phases of a surface current that flows from the opening toward the bottom surface of the annular wall and a surface current which flows from the bottom surface of the annular wall toward the open end are substantially out of phase. As a result, the side lobes of the received radio signals are greatly reduced, and the gain of the main lobe is increased, improving the reception of radio waves transmitted from a satellite.
