An optical coherence tomography (OCT) system comprises an interferometer configured to split incident light into a reference beam and a test beam, and to interfere the test beam reflected from the specimen with the reference beam reflected from a reference mirror to produce an interference pattern. The OCT system also comprises a spectrometer configured to analyze spectral components of the interference pattern at non-uniformly sampled wavenumbers. A computer-readable memory of the OCT system is configured to store a measurement model with elements connecting different depth values with different non-uniformly sampled wavenumbers and weighted with weights derived from a power spectral density (PSD) of the incident light for corresponding wavenumbers. The OCT system further comprises a processor configured to determine the profilometry measurements of the specimen as a maximum likelihood estimate of the specimen surface depth by back-projection of the measured intensities with the measurement model.

A computer-implemented pre-processed time-delay autoencoder based anomaly detection method are provided for detecting anomalous states of machines arranged in a factory automation (FA) system or a manufacturing production line. The method includes acquiring source signals from the machines via an interface performing a data pre-processing process for the acquired source signals by normalizing value ranges of the acquired source signals and filtering undesired features from the acquired source signals performing a time-delayed data reform process for the pre-processed source signals based on a time-delay window to generate pre-processed time-delay data submitting pre-processed time-delay testing data to a pre-processed time-delayed autoencoder (Prep-TDAE) neural network, wherein the pre-processed time-delay testing data are collected online while the machines are operated, wherein the Prep-TDAE neural network has been pre-trained by using the pre-processed time-delay training data detecting, if an anomaly state is encountered with respect to the machines, by computing anomaly scores of the pre-processed time-delay testing data, and determining, when the anomaly state is detected, anomaly occurrence time, duration and severity with respect to the anomaly state of each of the machines.

Anomaly detection and diagnosis in factory automation system using pre-processed time-delay neural network with loss function adaptation

A system for fusion of Wi-Fi measurements from multiple frequency bands to monitor indoor and outdoor space is provided. The system includes a multi-band wireless network comprising a set of radio devices to provide coverage in an environment, wherein the set of radio devices are configured to establish wireless communication or sensing links over multi-band wireless channels, wherein the multi-band wireless channels use a first radio band at a millimeter wavelength and a second radio band at a centimeter wavelength. The system further includes a computing processor communicatively coupled to the set of radio devices and a data storage, wherein the data storage has data comprising a parameterized model, modules and executable programs. The computing processor is configured to receive measurement data over the multi-band wireless channels to obtain a set of heterogeneous sensor data, network transferred data, or wireless channel attribute data, fuse at least two types of measurements from the first and the second radio bands at one or more steps in a parameterized model to generate an estimated environmental state in the environment.

A millimeter-wave (mmWave) communication system for determining a location of a first device based on a known location of a second device includes a transceiver connected to a set of antennas to communicate beams of mmWaves and to perform an estimation of a channel connecting the first device and the second device and a memory to store results of the channels estimation including pairs of beam values, wherein each pair of beam values includes a beamforming angle and an energy of the beam communicated with the beamforming angle. The system also includes a processor operatively connected to the memory and configured to select from the memory multiple pairs of beam values corresponding to beamforming communication sharing the same dominant path connecting the first device and the second device, to determine a direction of the dominant path by evaluating a beamforming model for the selected pairs of beam values, and to determine the location of the first device arranged along the direction of the dominant path with respect to the location of the second device.

The first and the second constellation can be mapped to subcarrier modulation in three different ways.

A photonic device for converting optical modes of optical beams includes a first port to receive a first beam having a first mode, a mode converter and a second port to transmit the first beam. The mode converter is configured to broaden the first beam to convert the first mode into a second mode and narrow the broadened first beam at an output side of the mode converter, wherein the mode converter includes a guide material having a first refractive index and perturbation segments each having a second refractive index, wherein the first refractive index is greater than the second refractive index, wherein the perturbation segments are arranged in the guide material to cross the first beam.

Compact photonic devices

A scanner includes an emitter configured to emit a wave in a direction of propagation to penetrate layers of a structure of a target object and a receiver configured to measure intensities of the wave reflected by the layers of the target object. The scanner also includes a hardware processor configured to partition the intensities of the reflected wave into a set of segments, such that each segment is the reflection from a corresponding layer of the target object, defining a multi-layered structure of the target object; and reconstruct images of the layers of the target object from corresponding segments using a joint-layer hierarchical image recovery that prevents an increase in sparsity of the layers of the target object in the direction of propagation of the wave. An output interface is configured to render the reconstructed images of layers of the target object.

A method decodes an optical signal transmitted over an optical channel from a transmitter to a receiver. The receiver receives the transmitted optical signal to produce a digital signal which is filtered in the frequency domain for compensating static effects and/or dynamic effects. The filtering is performed in the frequency domain, while the frequency coefficients of the filter are updated in the time domain by updating at least some of time coefficients of the filter and transforming the time coefficients into the frequency domain.
