A flat-panel display apparatus comprises a display panel, a circuit board, and a cover. The circuit board includes a first and second circuit boards. The first circuit board is arranged above the second circuit board so that, on the back side of the display panel, a mounting surfaces of the first and second circuit boards are approximately in parallel with a display surface of the display panel and do not overlap each other. Each of the first and second circuit boards have a primary mounting surface on which a large number of electrical components are mounted, and a secondary mounting surface that is opposite the primary mounting surface. The primary mounting surface of the first circuit board is arranged in an inverted orientation to the primary mounting surface of the second circuit board. A radiator with fins is provided on the secondary mounting surface side of the first circuit board.

Flat-panel display apparatus including a heat radiator

A flat panel display apparatus includes a display panel, a chassis configured to support a backside of the display panel, and a flexible circuit board on which a driving circuit for driving the display panel is mounted. The chassis includes a first flat plate bonded to the display panel on a surface side, and a second flat plate bonded to a front cover arranged on the surface side of the display panel. The flexible circuit board has one end connected to the display panel, and another end arranged between the first and second flat plates. The second flat plate includes a plurality of flange portions formed to be bonded to the front cover.

A display apparatus includes a display unit for displaying images, a backlight unit disposed behind the display unit for illuminating the display unit, an inverter unit for electrically controlling the backlight unit, a controller unit for controlling the inverter unit and the display unit, and a power supply unit having an exothermic heat distribution for supplying electricity to the inverter unit and the controller unit. The inverter unit and controller unit are disposed behind the backlight unit and the power supply unit is disposed on a side of the display unit, backlight unit, inverter unit and controller unit. The inverter unit and the controller unit are arranged behind the backlight unit. The display apparatus may be supported by a support structure including vertically tilting and laterally turning mechanisms.

A liquid crystal apparatus is constituted by a display device for data display, a drive circuit unit for driving the display device, a unit substrate for supplying electric signals to the drive circuit unit, and a tape-form film carrier comprising an insulating substrate and a conductor covered with the insulating substrate for connecting the display device, the drive circuit unit and the unit substrate. A part of the film carrier is provided with a blank portion where the insulating substrate is locally removed to absorb a stress applied to the film carrier. A unit substrate constituting the drive circuit unit is screwed to a supporting member so as to allow a movement thereof relative to the supporting member by use of a space regulating means surrounding the screw shank.

Liquid crystal apparatus

A liquid crystal display apparatus is constituted by: a housing; a liquid crystal panel comprising a liquid crystal disposed between a pair of substrates each provided with electrodes, the liquid crystal panel being affixed to the housing; and a backlight for illuminating the liquid crystal panel, detachably affixed to the housing. A light-transmissive plate, such as a diffusion plate, allowing transmission of light from the backlight is further disposed between the liquid crystal panel and the backlight so as to define an almost closed first space in cooperation with the liquid crystal panel, whereby the first space retaina its almost closed state even when the backlight is detached from the housing.

A display apparatus includes a display cell having a plurality of electrodes, a cell-supporting member for supporting the display cell, and a circuit substrate connected to the display cell for driving the display cell. The circuit substrate is supported for limited movement; relative to the cell-supporting member by a holding plate. The holding plate may preferably be composed of a plate spring for pressing the circuit substrate against the cell-supporting member.

A liquid crystal apparatus includes: a liquid crystal panel, an illumination means for illuminating the liquid crystal panel, a supporting means for supporting the liquid crystal panel and a housing for housing the above members. The liquid crystal panel and the supporting means are arranged so as to define an almost closed space functioning as an air damper to suppress deformation caused by an externally applied force owing to elasticity of air within the almost closed space. The supporting means includes a unit-supporting portion for supporting the illumination means, the unit-supporting portion being provided with a cutout at a part thereof for promoting discharge of heat evolved from the illumination means, and, the illumination means is supported by the unit-supporting portion so as to stop up the cutout of the unit-supporting portion, thus retaining the almost closed space. The liquid crystal apparatus is further provided with means for enhancing discharge of heat evolved by the illumination means out of the apparatus from a side opposite to the liquid crystal panel of the illumination means.
